Making A DIY Power Distribution Box
มุมมอง 90021 วันที่ผ่านมา
Sometimes, one is given the opportunity to use many tools to solve a simple problem. In this case, I will attempt to use KiCad, Autodesk Fusion, Bambu Lab X1 Carbon, and Mouser Electronics to build a power distribution box for my 3 Viltrox DC-550 Pro field monitors. Will I also need to add a kitchen sink to the mix? Let's give it a try! TOOLS: Hakko FX888DX - Digital Soldering Station - amzn.to...

Fixing A Bosch Jigsaw That Won't Hold A Blade - The Blade Falls Out

I have a Bosch Jigsaw, model number 1587AVS, that had a problem where the blade would fall out. This model has a ratchet system that clamps the cutting blade in place when turned clockwise and releases it when turned counterclockwise. It's a great system that makes changing blades quick and easy. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I turned the ratchet, my Bosch jigsaw would not clamp down ...

Disassembling And Cleaning A Miele Vacuum Cleaner After Using Baking Soda On A Rug
มุมมอง 20K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
I read online that baking soda on your rugs before vacuuming can help remove odors. Unfortunately, the bag inside my vacuum, a cheaper, third-party solution, was not up to the task. It ruptured, allowing the baking soda to infiltrate the deepest recesses of my Miele C3 vacuum cleaner! Doing a complete system tear-down, I hope to restore my expensive vacuum cleaner to its original, sucking glory...

Building A Stand For My South Bend 10K Lathe

While going through some old hard drives, I came across some footage I took while building a stand for my South Bend 10K Lathe. 5 Holiday Gift Ideas For The DIYer On Your List
Thank you for the clear video..I'm just about to tackle my Z3 top in Ireland.. will refer to your clear instructions as I go and will let you know how it went..Thanks again
So glad you found this video helpful! Best of luck with the top replacement - take it slow and go step by step. You'll do great! Please do let me know how it goes. Thank you for watching!
Great! I ran into this yesterday. You just saved me some time and money. Thanks!
That's fantastic! I'm very happy the video helped you out. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching!
After I watched your video again I'm now starting to get it. And the answer is yes to my first question 😂. This is how to setup cubesim monitors, stand alone, as they are on the same system. Now to go further, and set up the esi, and rwr. I have 4 monitors from cubesim, 2 mfd, and 2 smaller. Any good tips.? Thank you. I enjoy learning new things. Funny cause if it wasn't for BMS or DCS I wouldn't have any reason to turn computer on 😂.
Excellent! Glad to hear you are making progress. I'm not familiar with cubesim monitors, but if they are just "monitors" I would assume the process would be similar...and it appears that it is!! Good on you for getting in there and giving it a go. That's the best way to learn! Thank you for the comment, and keep going!
Will this work with the cubesim mfd monitors with the mfd buttons? Can you please do a video on this. I am not good with computers and need all the help I can get 😢. Unfortunately, the bms manual is a little vague. You're video is really awesome and helpful. I like some others are a little nervous about diving in to configure and ini files. But doing it is the best way to learn, and if bms is messed up to bad, I can always download afresh copy 😊 thanks
By the sounds of your next comment, you are on the right track! Don't be nervous - contrary to popular belief, it's not that easy to toast your machine. And, even if you do...as you stated, you can just start over. Thanks again for watching - keep up the great attitude!
Your compressor video was very well edited. I would recommend to make more videos of fixing stuff. Keep up the great work
Thank you for the kind words. I'm sure something will break soon enough that will need some repair. Thank you for watching!
Windows Defender just detected a Trojan inside the BMS downloader (Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml). I downloaded it directly from the website, is it a false positive or what?
I've got one of these. $40.00 problem and it's my problem now. I'd like to get it working.
It's a good amp - served me well for years. Good luck with the repair!
All is good! Cleaned them and tada! Thanks!
Excellent! I'm glad to hear you are back in business. Thank you for the comment!
What's your address? I'll send my car over next month... Great video, however I may need to watch it a couple more times before I step out of my comfort zone...
Problem is, I'd have to watch it a few times again myself to remember how it's done! If you jump in, just take your time and don't force anything - you'll do fine! Thanks for watching ☺️
It is unnecessarily cool
Haha - great comment!
Don't you also have to change the motor end to pulleys?
If the machine has the original counter shaft drive that used flat belts, most likely. I replaced the original system with a direct dive motor driven with a VFD. I equipped the motor with a v-belt pully. The video perhaps doesn't make this clear, so great question! Thanks for watching!
Really nice project, great to get started with tinkering. Thanks a lot for sharing your journey especially when things don't work out immediately. I would have gone for round cutouts on the case for the barrel jacks due to my OCD 😀
Thank you for the kind words! It's funny you mention the cutouts. I thought about doing round cutouts, but I didn't have access to the barrel jack size at the time, so my OCD wouldn't let me make oversized holes 😅 Thank you for watching!
Really awesome video!
Thank you much, and thanks for watching!
I have a 2450 that's not passing signal on either channel. Took apart and cleaned everything but still nada. Nothing looks visually damaged. I have set it to the side until I gain more knowledge lol only working with a multimeter
Sounds like a fun challenge! If you had a scope, you could inject a sine wave and trace along the path to see where it stops. Aside from checking if anything looks burned up, it's time to check components...just be careful around those caps! Thanks for the comment, and good luck!
Thanks for posting Jason. I have the same saw, had the same issue, tried your fix and was back in business in 20 minutes.
Excellent! I'm happy to hear you got your saw back up and running. Thank you for commenting!
👏👏👏👏
Thank you for watching!
A great instructional video that covers exactly what I needed. It's hard to imagine a better tutorial for cleaning and repairing the SEB 236 Electro Premium floorbrush. Nicely done.
Thanks so much for the kind comment. I'm very happy the video was useful and supplied the information you needed. Thank you for watching!
First of all, THANK YOU for that awesome video. Nobody has done it better! You are the mentor. You took the fear out of me to attack this job again. Did it about 7 years ago for a customer without instructions. After 14 hours of actual work, using every bad word in the book, walking away and using many cigarettes, I was done. Said never do it again! Now that I own a Z3 that has basically no rear window plastic left ( beautiful TEXAS sun and heat ) and the staples have come undone at the rear to the trunk. Must say a daily driver parked outside with 235000 miles on it, 1999 2.3, mechanically perfect, optically a ratrod. 3rd paint job or what ever is left of it, any paint, some down to bare metal. Love this BMW to much to retire it. Driving it every day puts a smile on my face. Point is now I feel confident because of your video to tackle this job again. Again THANK YOU! Keep up the great work. If you never owned a BMW Z3 you never had a life! I want a Z3 M next.😊
Thank you so much for the kind words - I'm very glad the video gave you the confidence to tackle this job again! There is no doubt it's a daunting task, and I commend you for taking it on 7 years ago - especially with the lack of installation information! Your Z sounds like it has ( and continues ) to serve you well - best of luck on the install. Let me know how it turns out! Thanks again for the comment, and thank you for watching!
Thank you for this video!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for the comment!

Thank you for this review! I'm glad to hear this stapler performed well for you. I've already got a whisper quiet compressor and I could do without another bulky, expensive battery-powered tool in my shop.
I'm glad you found the video useful. Sounds like this will make a nice addition to your tool wall!
I’ll be starting this project soon. Two of the links to parts we need isn’t working. Not sure what they are.
Best of luck with the project! What are the two links that are not working?
Loved the video! Hope it works on my 30 year old sink with new faucets and plunger! Just after stains on porcelain ! Tricia
Thank you for the kind words! Best of luck on getting the stains out...hopefully some of the tips in the video will be helpful. Let me know how it turns out!
Great video, have similar problem
Thank you - hopefully you get yours back up and running!
Jason you definitely aren’t perfect and it’s great to let us see your mistakes, so we can avoid them. I love a nice wrinkle free top but seeing as I’m getting up there in age I don’t think I will be able to climb on top of my car every time I want to close the roof, especially if it’s at a traffic light. Is this feat still required to close the roof? Thanks again Lenard. P.S. All joking aside, great job, awesome video.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Lenard. It’s not easy showing one’s flaws in a video, but I think it’s important to show the pitfalls when they arise. Fortunately the top does stretch out and closing is much easier. I have to say, a bit more effort is still required compared to the old top, but I also no longer have a front seat full of water when it rains! Best of luck if you end up doing your own top replacement. Thank you for the comment, and thanks for watching!
This is why you don't cheap out on vacuum bags. Miele actually holds several patents on their bag technology. If used according to instructions, you can vacuum baking soda or drywall dust all day and have your vacuum's interior remain completely spotless. Don't cheap out on bags, folks. It's the MAIN reason you buy a Miele in the first place - a near flawless and convenient filtration system.
I whole-heartedly agree with you - You definitely get what you pay for! On the positive side, I did enjoy taking a look inside the unit. I now appreciate the engineering even more. Thanks for the comment!
haha wow what a reminder thank you
My pleasure!
Saturation problem thermal runaway that can also mess with the bias function as repairman and tech we all say dust is the number one enemy of All electronics it can cause serious damage to the whole amplifier the amplifier must stay cool to function efficiently and as intended! The heat sinks must stay properly cooled so removing all the dirt and filth solve your problem 👍 Also use some Deoxit contact cleaner in a spray can to clean the volume control potentiometers if volume control potentiometers are not moved for a while they can collect dust down inside the pots and they will lose contact connectivity between the wiper and the track of the potentiometer. It's just a suggestion❤ thanks for sharing✌️😁
Great information, and it all makes perfect sense!! Thank YOU for sharing, and thanks for watching!
@mainejason The potentiometers or /variable resistors or you can simplify a volume control is connected to the input of the amplifier. Which are connected to the op amp. If they are dirty corroded there will be bad connectivity between the wiper and the track. Also if you are interested I have a TH-cam channel if you want to like subscribe and share and you can learn some stuff through me if you would like I'm a fabricator engineer tech and designer I build my own custom amplifier and boards among other things 💯💖🤗 if you wouldn't mind please like subscribe and share I believe we are a community here on TH-cam and we all can help one another as well as learn from one another many blessings have a great day my friend

Nice job! Gasket removal looked like fun. We're you getting over a cold?
Thank you, my friend. That gasket was definitely baked on there. Not a cold - seasonal allergies, maybe? Thanks again for the comment 😀
Great video! However, after I assembled everything I found a long black plastic part that I realized from my photos was supposed to fit on top of the cam. Is this the part (oil baffle) you were talking about? Also, does this mean I have to do the whole job over again? Thanks for the video and your response.
Your comment sounds exactly like the internal conversation I had with myself when I realized the same thing! Yes, that is indeed the part I was referring to. I have not reinstalled the part on my Z3 and have noticed no issues yet. I do not race my Z, or otherwise beat it too hard while driving, but that's been my experience. Thanks for the comment!
Wow, a lifesaver, thank you! And now subscribed because of your likable personality my friend
Hey, I'm really glad the video helped you out. Thank you for your sub, your kind words, and for watching!
I'm just entering into the world of quest 3 pc vr and this is something I'm keen to get installed. I'm not seeing a purchase option for the version 4?
You can purchase Falcon 4.0 over at Steam for $6.99 currently. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
Like the info presented here generally however reassembly gets confusing with regards to the straps. I'm writing out a procedure book for myself to reference when its time to do the work and I had to stop absolutely at about the 14 minute mark because I had no idea that was going on. I decided I'd just need to feel my way through that part of the process. What is it we are doing in the "don't do it" section? Tension strap? A strap holding the canvas to the frame? Something you mistakenly cut? Not sure. Is glue involved or is it just pop rivets? You pealed everything off the frame during disassembly. Maybe there's no glue. Thanks
I went back and looked at that section of the video. I can see where this may be a bit confusing, but I was documenting where I went wrong because I followed the very sparse instructions that came with the top. I felt it was prudent to add this information to address the discrepancy between the instructions and reality. It may all make more sense to you when you actually get to this part of the process. The straps I am referring to are elastic tension straps permanently affixed to the top. In the instructions included with the top, these straps were to be attached to the first bow or cross-member back from the front of the top (the first bow back from the front piece with the lock-down clamps). On the original top that I removed, these tension straps were affixed to the second bow or cross-member back from the front (one back from where the instructions described). I decided to follow the instructions and used the first bow, which required drilling new holes to accept the rivets. As I say at 14:16, " When the top is up and finished, the straps are too tight and pulled the rear window slightly out of shape. Use the original holes and attach these straps to the second cross member where the old straps were." So, I recommended (rather strongly) that the instructions not be followed and that the straps be attached to the location used by the original top. I address the issue at 28:03. As for adhesives - none is used at the rivet points. I hope that clears things up a bit for you. Thank you for the comment, and best of luck with your installation!
Thank you for the video. I was a bid scare when I saw the oil on the spark plug, then I remembered my Toyota Eng (same as seadoo problem)and I decided to search for a video and sure enough I found your video.
Fantastic! I'm glad the video was helpful to you. Thank you for watching!
Plastic razor blades are available, which are intended to be used for removing stickers/decals from delicate surfaces without damage. They might not have been up to the job of removing that gasket material though, which looked quite tough!
Interesting. I don't think I knew about plastic razor blades - but you are correct; there is no way plastic tools were making a dent in that gasket! Thanks for the comment.
I use a thin, non serrated butter knife quite often in the garage for jobs like this.
@davidshaw4727 Yes! Great idea.
Would be great see tests on heavy duty plastic like Moto seats
I confess, I don't really know what a moto seat is, but I would think the stapler might do a decent job. The original use case for me was stapling through heavy canvas backed by a rubberized plastic layer and driven into a heavy plastic retaing strip. As I recall, I was only using around 30psi for that. I know this is not a definitive test, but hopefully, it helps. Thanks for the comment!
Can you recommend a small, cheap air compressor to use with this?
It doesn’t take a lot to drive this tool so any small 3 or 6 gallon 120psi portable compressor from the big box store will do. Husky from HD is a fairly decent brand as well as Dewalt or Craftsman. Those compressors can also easily drive nailers as well. If you think you might want to get into paint guns or pneumatic tools, you will want to go bigger. I hope that helps, and thanks for the comment.
Keep an eye out for compressor kits, too. I got a 300 PSI Dewalt pancake compressor + 18 GA brad nailer kit on sale for 200 bucks in my area. Couldn't be happier with it :)
I used an old washcloth with some mineral spirits and the old stiky stuff came right off. I also used it to clean the rubber channel just below the plastic to clean the old dust off.
Great tip, thank you for sharing that!
Maybe a Roomba or equivalent?
I do have one of those. Even it needed to be dismantled and cleaned occasionally. Guess it’s just a hazard of being a vacuum cleaner 😁 Thank you for the comment!
Can I pay you to make me one of these?
And that's why I love my Vorwerk Kobold (Don't know if they sell it in the US; But don't think so) - Vorwerk will sell you every spare part, even for discontinued 30yr old units, if you wanna do it yourself and they offer good serviceable vacuum cleaners. The floor brush on my Kobold can be replaced without a screwdriver. Just pop open the proctective lip and change the part. Don't know why Miele, which is also a premium brand such as Vorwerk if you want to put it that way, makes it so difficult. Cheers from Germany.
I have not heard of the Vorwek Kobold, but it sounds like a great machine! I love it when companies continue to supply parts well past the retirement of a product - I wish more would do that. Danke für den Kommentar! ( I hope that's correct )
The power head on my Sebo has a neat trick where I can pop out the whole beater bar by popping a door off. It certainly beats taking the whole head apart. I've read thread rippers are great for cleaning bars, but never got the chance to try it.
That's a nice feature, for sure! A seam ripper would be a perfect tool. I do have one....somewhere....but my X-Acto blade is always on my desk 😉 Thank you for the comment, and thanks for watching!
This is what youtube was made for just a dude sharing an experience , as a plus well edited and a good voice, you deserve more views.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I’ve had paint pens and a need to remember where screws go for a long time, how have I never thought to combine them before? Also, love the chill and (crucially) non-intrusive background music👍
Ha! Ya, it was a real revelation when I first thought of marking those screw holes! Music is a must for me, but so is clarity - the balance is indeed the trick. Thank you for the comment!
vacuum maintinence is one of those things i gladly take the liberty of doing in my house. It nice to work on simple machines every once in a while.
I agree - it's always interesting to see how things are engineered. Thank you for the comment!
Brand new to Seadoo and pwc's , although I grew up in a marina back in the 70's .... this video was very helpful , good job !
Thank you very much - good to hear the video was helpful! Welcome to the cub, and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video series , I ordered a new top thinking it would be easy to replace and i can 100% say there is no way i wouldve been able to do it without your in depth video😂 the high quality and in depth instructions were a total life saver for me and my 200 bucks
Hey, that’s very kind of you to say. I’m really glad the video was helpful to you, and that you got the job done! Thank you for your comment
Thanks for your video, gave me the inspiration to try and repair mine...the blade retention went fine...but now the thing will not run. in the bin
That's too bad! Did it run before you fixed the blade retention? If so, something probably just got disconnected. If not, it still might be fun to investigate further! Thank you for the comment.
Maine, did you try some acetone on your overspray? Loved the detail in your video, will be replacing my top soon. Thanks for putting this together to help the rest of us through the process.
I did not try acetone, but it is an interesting thought. Acetone is pretty aggressive stuff so it would have to be used quite carefully. I very much appreciate the comment, and I’m glad you are getting some inspiration from the video. Good luck with the install and let me know how it goes!
You were correct, I did the same repair to my Bosch. Thanks for posting a concise video explaining everything!
Great! I'm happy to get verification. Thank you for the comment!
