The Hapes Consortium. Fighting against the Mon Calamari, the Hapes use a variety of different, concentrated laser fire that obliterate Admiral Rooster's fleet. Meanwhile, with the help of some sort of magic, Darth Vader has returned to Admiral Dave's aid despite being defeated. As the two factions, the Hapes Consortium and the Galactic Empire, push Rooster, the Rebel Admiral uses his wit in this epic installment of Star Wars: Empire At War, but it's realistic.     11:15 that infantry blunder was tragic. Realistically mass fire tactics are best in most situations. Flanking with quick vehicles can be useful. Ive put more hours in this game than i care to know and plenty in this mod. For space battles taking advantage of the multiple rounds of fighters you get from large ships is my go to. Keep your capital ships just outside engagement range and send all fighters ahead. If the fleet is fighter heavy use bombers on the captial ships shield generators and have fighters dogfight. If you have significant Starfighter superiority quickly wiping out their fighters, targeting the biggest threat with all fighters and rushing in the fleet will work well

    Great video as always, love to see the lore accurate mid-rim offensive / grind of the late game, so many ships and super strong units, but there’s no victory without sacrifice…… backseat gaming tips as usual below: Good job taking ord mantel and holding your other planets, at this point you’re an expert in planetary Defense and how to grind down imperial armies. One small tip would be to construct the same turrets Dave was using against you, a strong 750 credit turbo laser turret can be a really good anchor point of attack or at least meatshield, and much cheaper than building full on turbo laser turret infrastructure. They can also house 2 squadrons of infantry like a bunker so it’s a really nice building, although it’s also a great bombing target…… I’d recommend building them in front or in the middle of your defence line, unless 2 ATATs appear at the same time they’ll hold for a good while, and will buy you enough time to send in snow speeders / reinforce / retreat. Just build more turrets, credit really solves everything in this game…… Now to the painful part, the hapes, more specifically, Hapan battle dragons and defensive stations. These two combined are one of the hardest opponents you can fight simply due to the sheer firepower they can direct onto you, and unfortunately they slightly counter mon calamari ships. Mon cal cruisers are strong for a few reasons, good firing arc, ion weaponry, decent hull, and most importantly…… strong shields. Hapans counter this hard with heavy ion cannons and missiles, they can rip through shields easy and is why Akbar lost his shields within a minute of engagement, although their firepower slightly lowers after the destruction of their own shields and station. Hapan ships are very strong glass cannons, if you can rip their shields apart faster than they kill yours, you’re pretty much ok. But as you saw in the final few battles, when there’s more than 4 battledragons, poop hits the fan very quickly To add to that, Hapan Defense stations are some of the best in the game, even better than golans, simply due to 2 modules…… heavy long ranged ion missiles, on each tip of the stations. They outrange most things in the game, and can chip away your shield before you even get near them. Add to that a good support fleet of ion and turbo laser gunboats, you’re dealing with a balanced enemy fleet with heavy artillery hitting you constantly. Hapan fighters and bombers aren’t that great, but quantity has a quality of its own, you will need to concentrate your fighters and micro them heavily to handle each enemy squadron (specially bombers and ion fighters). Plus they have a royal dragon, their own “home one” type ship, with even more guns than ever. They are deadly in mid-long ranges, so unless you brought a SSD and a Death Star, be prepared for a bloodbath The best way to counter them is a LOT of fighters, more specifically elite and strong bombers accompanied by X-wings. You can easily bomb each ship and station while your fighters grind theirs down, rebel fighters are the best of the best and Hapan swarm fighters / bombers can’t win in a dogfight. All the while you can unleash all your bombs against the support fleet and then move on to the flakless battledragons, yes they didn’t put flak on any of them just so they could fit more big guns, don’t play their game, use that to your advantage. To add to that their shields generators are just as exposed to bombers, and they didn’t even double up like the empire, one good bombing run from a B-wing or K-wing squad and bye bye enemy shields, you can let your heavy guns handle them from there. It is imperative you bring a few carriers just to match their fighter numbers, maybe a Quasar or two plus some individual squadrons. There’s a lot of nebula in their home system so don’t be afraid to do some round about pearl harboring…… Another tip is that the Hapan battledragons kinda suck against small targets, a horde of corvettes with fighter support can actually win against a squad of battledragons, micro them for good hit and runs / lead them on a merry chase. Bring a few more gunboats and frigates to add some screening to your fleets, against the battle dragons you will need your support ships diverting enemy firepower, and most importantly buying enough time to take down their shields and crack them open Despite this defeat, the lesson and experience is much more important, the Hapes system is basically a secret boss fight and arguably harder than taking courasant space. You can always wait for them to sally out before pushing into their home territory (their free defensive home fleet is also massive)…… and if all else fails, you can always afford…… a “mediator” *Dramatic Dun dun DUUUN!* great episode as always, keep it up!

      For real! No victories without some setbacks it seems. I'm eager to read! Gosh, you're absolutely right. Those bunker turbolaser turrets are incredibly powerful and obliterate my guys, haha. I'll definitely invest more into them. I also think the infantry in them can fire out?? It's crazy how good they are. Honestly, I have a lot of fun against the Hapes. Them being a strong counter to the Mon Cala ships is so true. I wanted to fight them using MCs for the challenge, but my gosh, it's tough to do, especially because MC80s cost so much and take so long to build. Those battledragons rip through my shields. The MC80s are good, no doubt. But, they do take a heavy hit against the Hapes. Those Royal Dragons literally destroyed me. They're absolutely insane. I didn't even realize that the defense stations are also really good against my ships with their ion weaponry. Good lord, I'm in for a treat. There are, I believe, FIVE Royal Battledragons in the last battle. It's ridiculous, and they're so good. Oh my gosh. I love how the counter to the Hapes is something I can't even use with this challenge, fighters! Haha, the MCs don't bring in enough fighters for a good hit-and-run. Although, I do believe the Home One that comes with Ackbar and Criok Vren can bring some. Gosh, I wish I could've used corvettes in the fight, but, honestly, they seem to struggle against the MC30Cs, too. So, I'm not completely doomed, haha. It's a tough fight, but we've got this in the bag. More Mon Cala ships! I'm so ready to buy the Mediator. We're almost there. We've got the cash. Now, we just need the pop cap. Soon, we'll have a crazy fleet with that Mediator at the helm. :) Thank you for the tips as always! Hope you're doing well.

    In space battle bot see location of ships like cruiser (mc destroyer from some reason is not detected by enemy) and larger ships. So you can scout some space with fighters and make fast attack from other side of fortification using reinforcement

      Another thing is for ground battle. On map on loading screen(when battle is loading) you can see where power generator CAN be ( flat ground with out building slot (if you remember where this slots is)), that should help you in planing strategy on battle ( some times on ,,Base Loadout,, map you can't see power generator, I don't know why)

    Best way to deal with Hapes, is raid assaults with X-Wings focusing on any fighters hangars or station. Then retreat, you have to grind their defence if you want minimal losses. To create openings and run through their defence, just have a small group of fighter or a capital ship as bait one 1 side and your main forces (second group) on the opposite side. Do Not drop your forces at the beginning else, they will position their forces to counter your X-Wing Raid. Joust their starfighters if you have to, DO not engage in a dogfight unless you have certain superiority. If you are engaged by their BattleDragon while fighting their fighters, RUN. They will disable all your fighters shields and shreds them with their superior fighters. All their stats are better especially speed 650 !!!!! X-Wing is the best pick as you can kinda runaway, E-wings can't at all even tho they lay down superior damage, and A-wing are way too fragile and dont have astromech for passive repair which is essential. Its all about the speed and swift attack. Once they can't replenish their fighters. You can now hit hard frontal aspect with fighters. Hapes are literally the most annoying to fight with their RAW anti-ship fire power. Forget Capital Ships. They Outrange you and they are hard counter to Shield oriented ships. Small and Fast is the way Hope it helps I love this mod but once you reach a certain level, you understand that honestly all about Starfighters domination. The moment you gain this advantage it is difficult to be stopped. Anti-fighter corvettes are still a bit underpowered imo, takes more pop and are way more expensive than a fighter (2X-3X depending on your corvette pick). You can still dominate with a swarm of fighters, which is still cheaper than having a proper fleet. Micro manage 32 Squadrons of X-Wing is way more efficient than anything else. Its all about the compound damage that starfighters provides and difficulty to hit them.

Wow, I never even knew the Hapes have a starfighter shield-eliminating ability. Oh, that is just evil! Thanks for the tip. I'll defniitely keep that one in mind. My goodness. Yeah, the hit-and-run is a good call. I noticed that, too. The hard part is... I'm going with the least hit-and-run ships available, capital ships, haha. I'll try to push them up and see if I can retreat. It'll be a toughy. The Hapes Consortium are really solid. Hope I can build some of their ships. Yes, starfighters really do win the fight. It's just that you need something to draw fire away from them, if possible, or else they'll go down so fast. I love this mod, too. It's so much fun. Your tips really do help. Thank you again!

    I've always focused Hangers of stations/carriers, Missile launchers of all types, then shield generators with missiles and fighters of my own. ion weapons are annoying but not particularly worrying in the long term, if my shields are down I prefer taking down damaging weapons and accepting the ion debuff on my ships.

    The hapes was a thorn on my side for so long in my rebel campaign, I only was able to defeat them by combining my two large fleets (I wasn’t even the New Republic yet)

    Great video as always, love that you put the big doughnut of death in the thumbnail. Those who don't know might just think it's click bait, but those who do, they know you just took down a mighty beast...... tips and backseat gaming comments as usual....... Another great victory on Aridus, this is the power of a strong base and turbo laser defences, a good kill zone can cut down an entire imperial army group without sweat. One small optimisation I'd recommend is having some cash in your bank whenever you go in a ground defence battle, you can always cancel some ship or troop building orders to free up the credits, because that cash can be essential for turret spams and mercenaries. Other than that I'd say you've fought brilliantly, great job keeping your snowspeeder safe from imperial AA before sending them in against the ATATs, they are a hard counter that can insta-kill those four legged monstrosities, but they sure are squishy....... I'd recommend buffing it a bit if you want to make them slightly better than glass cannons, but I guess their weakness is lore accurate....... For Ord Mantell, there really wasn't much you can do against the big space doughnut of death itself, my heart dropped when I saw the second one, the entire battle was literally just the clone wars electric boolagoo. The biggest strength of the Lucerhulk is very obviously, its massive fighter hanger. It has around 60+ squadrons it can deploy, so grinding down enemy fighters is pretty much a lost cause (though the scrapping credits is so profitable), just target the bombers and try to outrun / outlast those pirate snub fighters, they aren't great quality wise but the sheer amount of them will give even Rouge squadron a run for their money. My tips here are also quite limited, maybe try bombing its 2 hangers sooner, or use some U-wing resupplys to help boost your squadron's firepower, and micro your X and A-wings to target enemy fighter and bombers more, but that's really about it........ What the Lucerhulks lack is heavy piercing firepower and speed, which unfortunately the rest of the black sun roster covers pretty well. Corellian Battlecruisers have ISD levels of firepower plus heavy proton torpedos, in laymen's terms holy crap that's a LOT of damage, ideally don't let them get close and bomb its subsystems before they can reach you, or else their hit and runs can be devastating. The dastardly criminals also seem to have refurbished some old Venators as well, and unlike your properly maintained republic designs, they seemed to have strapped every single big gun they could get their hands on to that ship, so that's even more firepower to contend with........ since they also had a big support fleet and defensive stations, this was bound to be a bloodbath, at least you won the day, and that was their last big shipyard so you won't be seeing those any time soon (fingers crossed don't jinx it) I've also noticed that you weren't making credits on each ground combat kill, this is a very small bonus but for some desperate battles this could be life saving. Good news is, you now have a scrap yard in conquering distance that can give you this buff (surprise its Ord Mantell again!). It's a den of scum and villainy, but it's also the set piece to the renegade squadron game, and a crucial chokepoint that cuts Dave's empire in half. Storm that planet surface as soon as possible, prevent the pirates from building up defences and a big garrison, or else its gonna be another bloodbath...... Glad to see your crazy strong war economy is up and running! 40k a week seems excessive, but you gotta replace those losses quickly and even the odds against the cheating AI. Remove more corruption! Start investing in trading cargo ships and taxes everywhere! Because there's only one way this war ends....... last bank account standing....... and because if you're fed up and just want a ship that can go toe to toe against death donuts and SSDs, the mediator is always an (expensive) option...... Great video as always, keep up the good work and take a rest if you need one, eating two doughnuts in a row must've been tough for your stomach......

      Three doughtnuts in a row! What a wild battle that was. So excited to go through this comment. That Aridus battle was glorious. I can see why you're so supportive of turbolaser towers despite their high costs. Although it'd be fun to buff the snowspeeders, I think the best couter I can use is to absolutely spam them, haha. Or, I can do what I did in this battle and just hold it back until I take out all of the AA tanks. Either way, though, we'll see! Gosh, that battle was so tough. I'm really lucky both of the hero ships made it. Can't say the same about the other Venators. Yeah, just like you said, there are just SO many fighters being put out at once. It's incredibly challenging to counter them, especially since my X-Wings won't be as numerous as the 60 fighter squadrons each Lucrehulk has available. Worst yet, the Lucrehulk has pretty solid anti-starfighter weaponry, so my ships were getting shot down left and right. It was wild! Thank goodness. I'm so ready to have some scrap coming in from the ground battles. We NEED that, haha. More credit income! I'm glad you're loving the war economy. It's typically 20k, but it's 40k right now because Dave is sitting on one of my planets (his former allegiance to the CIS brings in a ton of extra cash for whatever planet he's sitting on). Nevertheless, the war machine is still cooking. We're doing it! We're almost there. I'm waiting for the day I get that Mediator. Hopefully soon! Thank you for the comment as always.
