JEGS 90098 Rooftop Cargo Carrier - Review
มุมมอง 33K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I took this cargo box on a weeklong trip where I did about 600 miles of driving. I was very pleased with performance of the cargo box and it allowed us to free up a lot of space in the car. I forgot to mention in the video that wind noise with this cargo box on the review was noticeable above 50 mph and got progressively louder with speed, but was never excessively loud. I only took the car up ...

Fishing for trout in some cold, clear water back in April. I accidentally switched the camera to time-lapse mode for the last few fish. I decided to slow down the frame rate and keep the footage in here regardless. This time of year is great for fishing. No bugs, nice and cool, and the grass/weeds are as suffocating.

    I suggest next time you are presented with an obstruction you do as you did and fish the hole as best you can. After you retrieve your snag, go ahead and clear those overhangs so that you can hit that spot back up when you go back downstream on your way out. If you let the fish rest for a bit as you fish further upstream, you could come back to a nice surprise on your trek back to the truck. Tight lines, brother!

    Hey brother, excellent fishing, you found some really nice browns and some beautiful big brookies! Without giving away the exact spot can you give me some pointers on how you found this spot? Specifically, I'm searching for brookies in dane and iowa county, ive found a few but this stream seemed to have a good population of larger brooks. If you want to chat at all or exchange tactics / some spots let me know.

    Mine is on 24/7 and completely water tight….also a note for the locks, a squirt of WD-40 and the keys will slide in basically by themselves,lol…it’s just because the cylinder needs lubrication that’s all, a simple fix….also there are dimples inside so you can drill it out to better position the box on the vehicle, don’t just settle for the stock holes….it’s a fantastic box at a killer price.

      For those you you who don't know what he meant, he wet his hands before touching the fish. ALWAYS do that for trout you intent to release as they have a layer of slime that protects them from bacteria and it is easily removed when it touches anything dry (dry hands... land... dry net, etc). BUT I would say he held that 14 incher out of the water a bit longer than I would. I try to keep it to 10 seconds max. Anything more starts to impact mortality rates, especially if the water is warm or the air is cold (cold air freezes trout lungs so keep them in the water whenever possible when fishing in winter months).

      @@ryanm2084 the u bolts that attach the bottom half to the roof rack seem to hold up okay. The locks that hold the top half to the bottom half are kinda flimsy and seem to be the issue. Hello! It isn't super loud, no. It is somewhat noticeable, but not louder than a set of winter tires. The cross bars by themselves are louder, honestly. There is a hollow "cavity" under the bars that make a kind of a whistle at anything about about 40 mph. However, I used a bit of duct tape to cover them up and that took care of the whistle.

    • @alexmichaud1243
      @alexmichaud1243 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rob Hummel I definitely have had that happen and it is a pain when you keep getting stuck or you don’t know when you next step might be your last. I prefer fishing streams with sandy or gravelly bottoms. I haven’t fished in Waukesha County, and I’ve only fished a fraction of the creeks in Dane, Iowa, and Grant Counties, but I would guess there would be more streams with sandy/gravelly bottoms in the driftless region. Easements make even the muddy bottomed creeks fishable, but nothing beats wading in my opinion.
