Thanks for keeping me company while I worked on winding a Magic Ball with all my scappy fingering-weight leftovers. Trying something new over here too I might make a Granny Stripe Blanket *gasp crochet*! Next thing you know I might be making sourdough. I guess one should never say never! I love to drink hot chocolate in the winter months. I am knitting a pair of Christmas socks in the Nutcracker colorway from West Yorkshire Spinners. I am also knitting a hat and a pair of fingerless mitts. Hoping to have some of these off the needles before my Advent knitting begins December 1st.

Marie, you've produced some beautiful knits lately (as always)! Your enthusiasm for DK socks has inspired me and I got some gorgeous yarn from Holly Press fibers (introduced by you) and made myself a pair...they will not be the last. I'm working on Grist by Jared Flood for a surprise birthday present, so I've got my fingers crossed about fit. All the best to you with your surgery and new hip.

Enjoyed the podcast as always. Your mama’s scarves are so special:) And….I’ve had the Veronika pattern for years and never made it. Funnily enough I’ve just been considering it. I have some bright pink yarn that a friend passed on to me and I thought it might be fun to have a cardigan like this to wear at home on cold winter days. Same thoughts as you had. And it looks like a relaxing knit.

I hadn’t thought I would like dk weight socks, but yours are very appealing, so I believe I’m going to have to try them! The scarves look so comfortable, and I know they’ll be treasured. Enjoyed this podcast as always! I have found your enthusiasm and the joy you get from your spinning such an inspiration. I took the plunge and brought a wheel which arrived a couple of days ago and so far have made nothing that resembles yarn but practice, practice, practice…. I found a great tutorial with Fibre Love Diary and that seems to have my feet and hands co ordinating a little better so I will keep going 😅 I think the scarf that you and your Mum made is gorgeous and I am sure will be loved by your grand daughters. Hope all goes to plan for your surgery - it will be a great relief to you and your family to have it all behind you. I REALLY appreciate your choices for socks - that's my style. US 3, DK weight, CO 48. YES!!! I thought I was alone in the world, watching other sock knitters whip out their US 1's or 0's. and cast on 72. Are they crazy? And they always look so happy. They practically have a halo over their heads, LOL. I'm not alone anymore :)

I laughed when I saw the yarn you held up for your giveaway. It was almost exactly what I am knitting up right now. We must like the same yarn colours. Mine is called Brown Spotted Owl by Tully's Yarn Co. and is exactly like the yarn you held up except it also has cream coloured spots dotted throughout the skein. I'm knitting the Mountain High Sweater by Heidi Kirrmaier. That little project bag is so cute with it too. Great combination. I hope your surgery goes well. I'll be thinking of you.

I am getting ready to knit my first pair of dk weight socks in December (using the Woolens and Nosh advent yarn). Not sure how I will like them, but I'm pretty sure I will love the speed at which they knit up! lol Wishing you speedy healing with the hip replacement, Marie! ❤

Hi! So glad to start getting caught up on your episodes! I love the colors in both of the stripy dk socks, and the scarf project is such a sweet idea. That KOS yarn looks similar to a yarn I just bought from Hobbii that is a "blow" yarn with the same fibers and it is so soft and dreamy! That cardigan is going to be so ,so cozy. Fun colors in the spin! And that peppermint cocoa project bag is adorable but that chocolate yarn has me drooling (I am all about the browns lately though you wouldn't guess it from my WIP pile!). Good luck with the surgery, all will be well but not fun having something like that hanging over your head! I'm always very impressed by your beautiful knits. You make it look so easy! It's always a good day when I see a new podcast from you. I'm working on socks and sweaters now. I've looked at all the LYS's to find DK weight sock yarn. Nobody has it. I made a pair using fingering weight held double and they're my favorite socks. I need to check out the indie dyers who sell DK sock yarn and order online. I've thought about taking up the spinning craft but it would take away from my knitting time so I'll just buy my yarn.

It looks like you picked up some great goodies! I recently went to a festival near me with my sister and managed to find a great sweater project bag made from old jeans that I just love! I have never tried DK socks but am looking to find some nice DK sock yarn here in Ontario.
