Rock Climbing CHANGED My Life For The Better!

Whether you're a seasoned climber or just starting out, you won't want to miss this motivational video that will leave you feeling empowered and ready to take on new challenges.
I'm always thankful for making new experiences and new friends. It was awesome climbing with you guys; Ben, Colin, Jason, and Alex.

Trad Archery Secrets: Accuracy and Arrow Flight Always Depends on This
มุมมอง 1Kวันที่ผ่านมา
I'm using my Samick Sage takedown recurve 35# draw weight today to do some shooting in the woods. I discuss a bit about Trad Archery accuracy and that the path of arrow flight always depends upon the intersection points that the bends of the arrow make as it goes through the archer's paradox. All the techniques that we use, such as good shooting form, tuning your bow, great release, is an attem...

Trad Archery Practice That ACTUALLY Improves Accuracy: 5 Arrows 3xDay

When I don't rock climb, I like to relax with traditional archery. I decided to take out my 65lb Bear recurve bow with my heavy arrows and get some practice to improve my accuracy. I take a different approach this time than my usual of slinging a bunch of arrows at once. Good shooting and yeah 20 yards is a lot harder than 15 for some reason. I'm curious to know what arrows your using, what is the spine, length, weight in grains, length of arrow and your draw length, and last but not least, what grain tips you are using regular 100 grains, or more? The most important thing to me in archery is that you have fun with it, and looks like you do! Thanks for sharing and God bless!

      Hello again, I'm using 1916 spined aluminum arrows shot out of my 30# recurve using 100 grain points with an arrow length of 29inch from nock to end of aluminum shaft. The entire arrow weight is about 433 grains. Thanks, and happy shooting!

    • @joedaniels4646
      @joedaniels4646 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @EnigmaClimbing Okay cool I'm running arrows to a 35# recurve which are 500 spine with 150 grain field tips the carbon shafts are 28" and total weight is 355 grains. You were grouping really good in the video so was wondering if our arrows were about the same. I'm not to sure what a spine of 1916 is equivalent to 500, 600, or maybe 700 Spine. Thanks for that information I appreciate it.

    • @joedaniels4646
      @joedaniels4646 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Okay so I looked into it and 1916 is basically a 500 spine arrow ... Cool so I'm definitely in the ballpark of what your using ... Yours is just a bit heavier due to aluminum shafts, and their being about an inch longer.

    • @EnigmaClimbing
      @EnigmaClimbing 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hahaha, I can't tell if you're being serious or not. But the quick breakdown is that first I thinned out some shoe rubber on a belt sander and in a squatting position marked where I wanted the rubber. I then used contact cement to glue them, and what I forgot to mention in the video was that I sewed the pants to my harness with nylon thread so that they wouldn't move during the comp, thereby providing good purchase for the kneebars. If the pants sag, this could change. Then with the newfound ninja power, you are on your way. Good climbing! ✌

      Ok, sure. I'll take that under consideration. I used KneeBar pants version 2.0 in 2022 to compete again. This time, instead of sewing the pants on, I was able to construct a way to clip them on the harness. That way, they were removable.

    Nice shooting brother , fun watching ya do this from inside the house . That most definitely has to add to the whole shot process focus . Ive recently put myself back in boot camp, focusing solely on form. Especially back tension, keeping my draw arm elbow up and back ,squeezing shoulder blades together. That combined with my anchor point. Pulling to my anchor ,but making sure i dont smash my hand to the face, just locked there comfortably. The back tension super important to keep, then lightly relax my finger grip on string. Ive found my release to be more smooth with a natural follow through. At moment ive thrown any and all aiming methods out the window ,just focused on form and eyes focused only on target. Good form equals shooting straight, if you can continuously shoot straight ,distance is only a tiny adjustment. I am now feeling very confident at letting them sticks fly from 40 yards with little target panick. And still using no aiming method ,just eyes locked were i want to hit. My latest epiphany, stop trying so hard to aim, master form and muscle memory,and have a fun and relaxed session

      Thanks! Due to my rock climbing, I have pretty strong shoulders. But before I ever shot a manufactured bow, I was shooting self-bows and my main one was 75lb draw until it broke. So I actually went down in weight. The 65 pounder still feels tough to keep steady, though, and when I can it ends up being my most accurate bow. The other one that I shoot is 35lb. It helps me work on my technique and really shows my mistakes if I don’t have a clean release. Take care! ✌️

    Great shooting and good form... I would recommend slightly tilting the bow. Repetition develops muscle memory, eye and finger coordination, and timing, so shoot as much as possible, and 45 Lbs bow could be more helpful. I think you're ready for a swinging target like tennis ball on a string...Will improve all shooting principles. Remember, there are no bad shots. Even arrows shot in the weeds are good shots. Good Shooting.

      Thanks! I've played around with tilting the bow. Heck, I've been trying too many things I think. 🐺 You lucky i made one mistake shooting out my back door and my wife band me from shooting from inside the house for life all i did is accidentally hit the most hideous looking picture hanging by the back door and it was a picture of my mother in law i didn't do it on purpose the dog bump into me and throw my shot off that's my story I'm sticking with it lol anyway i try to tell folks that is trying to learn shooting traditional bow one don't do what i call monkey see monkey do the technique that works for one person it might not work for you that was my biggest problem i kept trying to copy other shooters technique and i wasn't getting any where you got to find a technique that works for you . And two dont let it get you down if you miss your target or you don't hit the spot on the target you was aiming at i don't care what anyone say even the best of the best still makes bad shots now and then . The most important thing is make learning shooting any bow a fun time by setting up more than one target and making a game out of shooting. This has helped me a lot. Anyway great video thanks for sharing brother this is one video that going to help alot of folks on their bow journey . 🇺🇲🦅

      What a great comment! Thanks, bud. I actually did hit the wall once, about 10 years ago, hahahah, I tried an Olympic style anchor point. She hasn't banned my shooting though. And yes, I agree with you. I can only present a method of shooting, but ultimately everyone will have to find their own way and run with it. I'm still working on mine actually, changing little things all the time. Maybe, one day after I'm done changing things and am able to be consistent in my shot process, I'll be more accurate. Have a great day!

    Generally speaking if the limbs are straight and the bow is the right size for the archer primarily for poundage but also length, the arrows are appropriate, then any bow will work great. The archer is the determining factor. Samick sage and clones are great bows. TH-cam has had a woman trick shooter using a sage. Just yesterday I was at the range and a bare bow archer was using a sage at 20 yards. Never saw him miss yellow.

    Thanks for sharing. Will try the touch the shoulder release technique.

      You’re welcome. I hope it works for you. Remember, it’s not so much that touching your shoulder is important, but rather giving a signal to your mind to open up the hand. Touching the shoulder helps with consistency.

    10 years ago it might be a good beginner bow but the quality has gone so low.

      Darn, that’s unfortunate to hear. Got an idea of any good ones?

    What is on the bow above the quick release bolts ?

    • @EnigmaClimbing
      @EnigmaClimbing หลายเดือนก่อน

      The first year I got the bow I fell off a boulder in the woods and broke the bracket that holds the limb. I was able to repair it by adding a bolt above the quick release and if you look closely you’ll see that I used a euro coin as a washer. The limbs did not twist or anything and the bow has been just fine ever since. Good eye! Have a good one. ✌️

    In the early 2ooo's at the Olymics Samic's placed 1st 2nd @ 3rd and then later they were 1st 2nd 3rd @ 4th, they have been making excellent bows for decades !!! 5

      Interestingly enough they also make decent inexpensive guitars also.

    Wow you gave me a breath of fresh air just as I was ready to burn my bow you let me know that maybe I’m not as bad as I thought I have watched so many videos and no one ever misses 20,40,heck 100 yards dead on all the time some don’t even have to look at their target Thanks for posting a genuine video and letting us know that everyone has bad days and no one will ever be perfect every time. God bless

      You are very welcome, pal. And don’t burn your bow! Haha, archery can definitely try your patience sometimes. Missing is a part of learning, and even the best in the world miss, especially in trad archery. Consistency and spending time tuning and re-tuning is what helps more than anything. Cheers, you have a good one. Enjoy life.
