Tool Bucket Hack/Tip/Upgrade
Bucket Boss 44 has been my mainstay for almost 30 years now. At home or out, you load them up right with a careful assortment of hand tools, useful devices, and some basic necessities and you will love it.
Car carry tip: get the base from a kids car booster seat. Put the base on the seat of the vehicle, the tool bucket ontop of that, and bungee around the base of the headrest to the bucket handle. The booster seat base is canted back. So between that and the bungee, your bucket will NEVER tip forward or fall over in the car.
I put a towel behind to protect the vehicle upholstery.

Baby cottontails in front lawn nest.
มุมมอง 442 ปีที่แล้ว
If you live in an area known for cottontails, and you see lumps of scratched up thatch in grassed areas, this is what you may find. I mowed right over this (and probably other nests) one and I had no idea. Went to take a look after mowing.

Just a helpful tip for using rooftop cargo carriers like Thule and Sears X-Cargo. Costs nothing but a recycled cardboard box.
Coring apples for dehydrator (Nesco. American harvest. Etc)
มุมมอง 643 ปีที่แล้ว
I am not a food dehydrator guru or even very experienced at it. This just happens to be one thing I learned while making what is so far my favorite thing to dehydrate. Apples. I went apple picking as an activity and ended up with a crap-ton of apples. Even after giving half away. Next day I found a NIB nesco dehydrator at a garage sale for $5. Tip: if you buy apples get cheap bags of Macintosh....

Those hinge rivets are 3/8”. Lock base rivets are smaller size (3/16?) but 3/8 would be better. Don’t forget to put backing washers behind the pop rivers wherever they will be up against PLASTIC!

    Nice tip, there are probably some very useful ways to organize a tool bucket and make it pretty spiffy. I have always hated it when the bottom of the bucket cracks, this looks like a good way to stop that from happening.

    How heavy is the carrier itself? My arms are not my strongest body part, so I'm curious about my ability to get it on top of my car... cant find the weight anywhere.

    • @fieraci8500
      @fieraci8500 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know the exact weight. Maybe 30 lb if that I would guess. It’s not all that heavy but it’s much more the bulk size of it that is difficult. I can heft it myself (if it’s not windy outside) but it’s much easier with 2 people.

    I need help, do you know where I can buy replacement U bolts for this product? Thanks

    • @fieraci8500
      @fieraci8500 ปีที่แล้ว

      www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Thule/TH05603.html But if you just need u-bolts only, you can buy threaded rod at Home Depot and cut bend your own for a fraction of the cost if you are handy with things like that. Maybe even get proper sized premade u bolts at home depot depending on what they have.

    Any hack to keep the top pin from falling... My 8 x 10 is a little different I have a second set of doors on the side, same latches though. Both pins do not have enough resistance to hold up in the locked position. Wind blows bounces the doors around and well gravity takes care of the rest. I temporarily put a tie wrap around one of them this holding that door locked ... Always thought it was a foolish design. Like the no bend hack though, getting too old for that shit...lol.

    • @fieraci8500
      @fieraci8500 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it were me: The tops of bifold closet doors use a vertical spring and horizontal roller part to keep the end of the door riding in the track. I might look into using a small section of small diameter copper pipe (with a cap soldered on one end...drill a drain hole in the center of the cap....) mounted to the shed door under the top latch to hold the bifold door spring in compression so the roller contacts the underside of the pin assembly, forcing it upward. Or more simply and probably more effective: I might just remove the top door latch entirely and replace it with a standard cheap medium to large sized barrel bolt.

    • @fieraci8500

    • @fieraci8500
      @fieraci8500 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Find key sellers on eBay. You’ll need the lock number on your lock. You can buy a full mounting hardware set online just search for it. Otherwise you can probably piece a set together from hardware aisles at Lowe’s or home depot.

      Read my replies to others. You mimic the existing wiring and solder in the new jack. Plenty of TH-cam vids on that. Check out “Dave’s world of fun stuff” he’s one of my favorites but he’s much more on guitars than pedals. But he had a few good soldering vids of I recall.

      Mine had wires. Desolder them and solder the new one in. There’s plenty of TH-cam vids on replacing jacks and soldering/desoldering.

    Or you can make a plastic sleeve to isolate the metal from chassis.

    • @fieraci8500
      @fieraci8500 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, but that would be a PIA. Easier to get the right one and no worries about it grounding.
