Bypassing Temperature Sensors on an Electric Stove Burner
Got a new GE electric stove. New rules say that they have to have sensors to stop excessive temperatures to protect against any stove fires. A bimetallic switch on the burner turns off and on to keep the temperature in check. The only problem is that it turns it off too much. I'm operating and turning them into the original style burner by bypassing the sensor in in the element.

      @CraftsmanontheLake 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thnx. Ya, that would be nice. It's a split pin (similar to a cotter pin) on the impeller shaft. This pin holds the impeller to the shaft, preventing it from moving or rattling while using it. The split pin is not designed as a shear pin. it doesn’t break under stress. The impeller is keyed to the shaft. So it's a pretty solid connecton.

    One thing to consider is the cost of batteries will surely drop over 8 yrs as most tech does. In fact we're starting to see knockoff batteries on the market now. And that will continue as these get more popular. Therefore the cost of ownership over time while still high, will hopefully be lower by the time we need to replace our batteries.

    • @CraftsmanontheLake
      @CraftsmanontheLake 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MacNeilR I hope so. Considering the knock off batteries, though, everyone using them indicates that they don’t last as long and some people taking them apart show that they’re only half filled with cells. They cost a lot less for a reason. Usually they come in at about half the amperage that they’re rated at so a 10 amp battery is often giving a longevity of 5 A.

      Yes, in looking at videos you try to see what the settings are on to find out what to expect. And in some instances you can tell they just have the auger on highest for 'effect' and then tell you they did the whole driveway like that. It takes a bit of finesse to adjust it right so that you have performance and longevity balance. Once you take it off ECO it does use the batteries up faster. I envision an heavy wet sloppy storm possibly having me do this with more than one charge.

That small space between the forward and rear set of rails comes in handy because you have to slide things off and if there's a lot of other stuff blocking the way you have to move everyting. But... I can just leave the slider bolts in some instances and when just replace the items by switching them to different bolts on the track. If that makes any sense. glad I have the tracks because I would have to lived with what I did otherwise. This way as I experience what I did I can change it.

But unfortunately it becomes a new movie, not taking the place of the original so anyone who looked at the old one wouldn't find that one again. And if EGO blowers were made here, my $2200 dollar blower would cost, according to the world trade council, between $3000-$5000. When the tariffs hit, it would add enough to raise the price significantly but still be cheaper from China. So, on a guess at 26% Maybe $2700 instead of $2200. If the tariffs go up to 100% as described recently then it would be $4500 from the US or China.
