I don't understand what's going on here. Gold wanted it all in pre flop as he thought he was ahead then he wants to check it down as he knows he's behind. I'd say he must have being stuck for money and it known because poker is poker you play the cards . It would have being absolute GOLD was acting and had a set to the end and made it look like he was behind and in the end showed the winner. Some twist.

The first half was very funny, the second half was life turning stomach churning money. Gold gave away EV by announcing he was pre-calling, then locked in by making it binding, and finally Farha showed mercy and didn't take away like half a million dollars from him.

I don't care what Sammy said after just calling the river. There must have been a sliver of doubt in his mind that Gold might have smashed that board somehow. He's a greedy shark and there's no way he wouldn't have bet the river to take more money down if he was 1000% sure that Jamie had KK. He said "I didn't do it because I like you Jamie". Nobody likes Jamie. Never mind that everyone at that table would love to take anyone's stack from whoever dared to buy in at that table. I think Jamie's table talk actually spooked Farha a touch when there was real money to start fighting over after the river and he didn't want the door to open for Jamie to play back at him.

Jamie Golds speech would have amazing if he actually had a set.

My understanding is that the movie Molly's Game was based on a true story and Jamie had access to it (given his history in hollywood). Basically a bunch of rich celebrity donks would play poker and Sammy had been begging Jamie to invite him. This favor (not betting more money) was an attempt to gain karma with Jamie so he could get access to these games. I wonder if it worked.
