Cass Elliot - The Good Times Are Coming (Monte's Alone Version)
This version of Cass Elliot's single for the "Monte Walsh" (1970) film is probably my favorite after the single version because of the orchestral elements and her soft vocals. I believe these vocals are different than any of the other versions! Here's what the CD booklet says about this track (**film spoilers**):
"Mama Cass (Cass Elliot) returns for this slow, reflective version of the title song as Monte walks away, alone, after Chet's wedding. The theme continues in instrumental form as he revisits the now deserted shack where he earlier slept with Martine."
This is track #9 on the official soundtrack.

This is an instrumental version of Cass Elliot's single for the film "Monte Walsh" (1970) that is titled "That Old Box" on the official soundtrack. For the purpose of TH-cam, I've titled it as an instrumental version of the theme. Here's what the CD booklet says about the track ( film spoilers ahead ): "While he was away, Monte's life has gone from bad to worse: Chet has been killed by Shorty d...

John Barry & Cass Elliot - Monte Walsh Soundtrack (1970)
มุมมอง 3.3Kปีที่แล้ว
The complete soundtrack for the 1970 film "Monte Walsh". Not available on streaming nor ever released on vinyl back in the 70s, this film soundtrack has been lost to time to the public beyond those who managed to secure one of the 3,000 copies of the CD back in June of 1999. Luckily, I managed to find a rare copy online and decided I wanted to share it with everyone! My previous Cass Elliot vid...

Hi, thank you for making this video. I’m really just floored by so much of the information you’ve presented. I was 5 yo when she died. I have sang her song Dream a Little Dream all of my life. Just this week I decided to find out more about who sang that song. I am absolutely blown away by her beauty and talent. AND THEN, I look at the name of your TH-cam channel AutumnBay and again I’m floored. Because that’s the name of my 9 month old puppy I’ve had since November 2023. Before I was ever watching your channel. Why did you choose that name? I don’t believe in coincidences. Good job with the video. Keep up the good work, may you be blessed!

Great documentary! It’s too bad her solo career didn’t take off like it should have considering she’s really the only one from mamas and papas who could pull off a solo career. I do find her solo music less interesting though

Hey guys I made this video three years ago now and it remains the only comprehensive Cass Elliot documentary on TH-cam as far as I can see. I am so grateful for how many of you have left very sweet comments and made me smile over the past three years. I cannot believe how many views these two videos have! Thank you!! That being said, I have read many, many, many of your comments about my narration, my elocution and how I sound in these videos. The overwhelming majority of these comments about these aspects of my videos have been negative and critical. This was my first time ever making a documentary and I could have researched how to do narration better. I read from a script I wrote, then edited down the hours of audio that I had recorded. When cutting it down around stutters, mispeaking words or messing up setences, it can really speed up the pacing of your speech and make it harder to follow. That is what happened here. I would not do it this way if I were to do another documentary. I understand that my voice bothers some of you (sorry, I was only born with the one), I understand that some of you cannot follow the speed (TH-cam has an awesome feature where you can slow down the speed of the video if that will help you at all) and I understand that some of you do not like the visuals either (tough luck, there isn't an overwhelming majority of archival Cass footage). So... if you are about to leave another negative comment about the narration just know that it's been done to death and I already understand your frustration. But understand that I am one person who dedicated hours of my life to creating a video for us fans of Cass to come together and celebrate her. I never claimed to be perfect, I've only ever claimed to be a fan!

As a speech pathologist I need to tell you that you need to work on elocution. You talk way too fast AND you slur your words so that entire sentences sound like one long word without breaks. This should be easy to fix even if all you do is SLOW DOWN. I missed a lot of what you said so I stopped watching.

Your documentary is really captivating. Yes, her story is already a fascinating one but youve told it so well. In the 90's here in SF i played Papa Denny with some of the best singers and musicians in the Bay Area, created out of Morey Goldstein's Cavalcade of Stars. The show was called Mama Cass' Summer of Loving. The story was told through the lyrics of their songs. The set up: the Montreaux Festival was coming up, the band had been estranged, and Michelle had been thrown out of the band ao they had to find a replacement fast which led to number of auditons includng Cher and Janis. Already a fan of the band we all learned so much more of their story through the creation of the show. Their involved harmonies were so impressive. Sounding so natural they sometimes required bizarre time changes. Many in the audience that night told us theyd seen the band live and that we were so much better. If that was true it was because of our appreciation and that we had to do them justice. Singing their catalogue was one of the most joyous times of my performance career. Thanks for all your work.
