I agree with you on first dates going to public spaces (malls or restaurants), don’t go to private secluded spaces or inside their vehicle. I made the mistake once of going inside someone’s vehicle (which happens to be a situationship I met through dating app). I didn’t know anything about this person, nor his name as his user was just a character. He asked if I wanted to meet up right away which was sudden and it was at night as he said he works full-time as a consultant. I told him of my worries and concerns, and he said it’s safe I promise. I didn’t have much experience with dates before, so in my mind, I convinced myself that I’ll “assess the situation” when we meet in person. I was thinking if he “seems” like a nice person then I would consider, and if he seems sus I would walk away. We met in person and he seems not like a sus person, and pretty good looking. So I rode in his car and he said to eat at a restaurant, but he got take-out instead and we ended up in his apartment which I wasn’t informed of. Thankfully, he didn’t do anything that’s severe or over the top, and drove me back. But I figured he wanted fwb, while I was looking for something completely different. So after that experience, I thought dating apps wasn’t for me in terms of relationships besides making friends. But if you meet someone that has humanity and morality left in them then it’s just serves as a lesson to learn from. If you meet someone who has very bad intentions with no respect of your boundaries at all (like none) then you’re cooked.

It's always nice to have say a friend that you can openly talk to about things on your mind. Therapy can be expensive but I found chatting with a close friend is also helpful just to air out your thoughts or ideas ! If you ever need someone to chat with, you have a good person here =) and I'm a great listener too ! Lol

I can totally relate to you of having expectations. I also sort of think through or fantasize/build up how my life should play out or be structured, and having ideal version of what my partner (in the future if I ever had one) would be like whether it’s their personality, character or appearance, etc. And I think part of the reason for those expectations could be from a cause of social pressure where you see some couples (be it in the public or in dramas and shows) who portray the exterior image of relationship you would want to be in and you associate that with your own idea of what “perfection” to you is (I realize perfection is subjective as everyone’s preferences and tastes are different). But I’m trying not to do that and I’m still working through that because reality is no relationship is perfect, and often times we don’t get what we expect. You could want or hope for all of these certain qualities in a partner (or how your life would play out, etc.) but sometimes we end up with people instead who are the opposite from what we thought we would get. It’s just like career and major for example, you thought you would end up becoming a lawyer and make lots of money because it’s your desire from the start, its what you want, but let’s say the application process was competitive this year and they reject you. You have to find another major for your purpose and fulfillment, then you took a chance with medical care and got accepted as a doctor. Maybe it’s not what you want but they gave you purpose in life than what the lawyer position would’ve. And another reason is our past often let us down and we try to convince ourselves, cling onto this hope that we deserve better. I know for me I went through more rejections than acceptances, especially in middle school and high-school when i think back and been in situations that aren’t really desirable. And it’s like depending on the future, hoping it’ll turn the past around and outweighs all the things you’ve been through.

I agree with the majority of them besides 5:calling their exes crazy(There is nothing wrong with calling your ex crazy if they were genuinely crazy),10: Has unhealthy relationship with mother,11: Obsessed with appearance(Women do this 10x more then men), and 19: being cheap(There is nothing wrong with wanting to save money especially if your in hs or college)
