I don’t get it, can someone explain. What does putting a piece of rubber do in that case? Does it stop the bushing or spring from bouncing? Going thru this right now.

You are awesome man thanks for the best tip ever those suspension rods are expensive too,, 1 question in your video the little foam type white part mine turned into pieces do you have a tip on that ,, if there's something to replace that part because when I took it out it just crumbled to pieces...

Then add 1 and a half inch. Styrofoam inside the box at the top of the tub helps eliminate shakings

Why do u have to cut Sponge or quark in half?? Can you just Shove , that piece of rubber in between the cork and the shaft... will that work??

Don't use regular grease on these, you'll ruin them. Use Dampening grease, very different grease. Nyogel 767a synthetic DAMPENING grease.

One thing I can add in this method, when I took out the sponges they were all worn out and broke into pieces, so I compacted them back in with peices of the rubber hose and WOW ...the machine works like a charm. what's the restrictive gel i should be putting on the suspension rods down at the springs for the main shaft bad to grease the shaft to work like it's supposed to? the sticky stuff that's all over to help it be stiff and tight for the heavy laundry loads. I'm trying to figure out what that tube of sticky grease is called. it was on my old spring mildly but very little was left. i imagine now that may this trick and some new restrictive grease stuff and my problem may have had been solved. thanks. great video. easy to understand.

What i did on top of what you did was put some tape on the rod where the springs are located and it helped alot more.?

I replaced the suspension rods, after a few loads it keeps saying "unbalanced" I found a TH-cam video comment from "@gened9632" and I want to share it with everyone: Perform a balance calibration when you're finished. Hold down "Temp" and "Delay End" buttons simultaneously for a few seconds and when it reads "cal", press start. It takes about 2 minutes to run through.

The grease is actually called a dampening grease.. it actually provides friction on the rod..

I am going try this out

Thank you Sir, I did this repair to prove that the suspension rods were the problem. I had bought some cheap ones from Ebay and I still had the unbalance problem. I ended up buying the OEM and installing them. I will keep my original ones as backup.

Thank you so much!!! You saved me a lot of money!!! I actually used an air hose made for cars that fit the rod perfectly about 1/4 of an inch or less in length and just shoved it in between the foam. No more walking washer.😂

what is size of rubber hose? ANd what difference did it make? It was jammed before and now free? Why don't we remove the yellow part completely then? It'll be free then isn't it?

Wonder how long this will last. Seems like a thin spacer around the outside of foam might last longer. That and dampening grease. Maybe very fine wire wrapped around the foam or pieces of aluminum trim place around the OUTSIDE of the foam to tighten it to the rod. If what I am trying to plain would work, it would force the foam around the rod equally all the way around providing basically the same wear for the complete interior of the foam without having to cut it and causing uneven wear with something inside the foam. Just a thought. Something I might try.

Does this work for all whirlpool washers? Even the smart load series?

Basically, you need to put something in there that makes the used old greasy sponge tighter around the rod, a piece of hose or something...
