24 degrees timing at wot around 5800 rpms seems just a little low could you not put about 26 to 28 degrees in and make more power? Also 11.84 afr seems pretty rich on a NA engine…I like to shoot for about 12.30

Now why do some double the stoich ? Or is that only required on the newer e38 and e67 ecu ?

Hi there, does the car shakes at idle? I installed it on 2009 Hummer h2 6.2l L9H on stock converter, and it shakes noticeably... I'm thinking of going back to stock CAMs 🥲

Why do you half all the values? Due to it being return less? What if there’s a pressure regulator with 1000cc injectors? You would leave value the same and not half VE and timing?

Could I maybe get this tune file to use as a base? No real clue what I’m doing and I live out in the sticks this is my only vehicle. I could pay you.

Very nice thanks. I subscribed. You mentioned the name so I thought I’d mention that in the southwest there’s a legend of a chupcabra which means goat sucker in Spanish. Supposedly they are like goat vampires. In real life the chupacabra is a family of birds (whip-or-wills, nightjars,…) called goatsuckers that comes at night and eats bugs off of livestock. They do fly weird and in groups and at night it can look really crazy. Anyway that’s where it comes from.

Can you please explain me how we can possibly have 60-sh % ve at idle if we have our throttle fully closed. For example at idle, 1.3 vtec honda engine consumes 1.6 grams per second of air, but full throttle 80+- grams. At idle, We have around 75 kPa of vacuum, so absolute pressure is about 25 kPa at this engine. How the VE can be 60-sh? Or 25 kPa with 100 kPa absolute pressure is estimated 25 VE?

can someone tell me this? lets say i got a guy wanting a tune in his gen 4 and i already have a file for a gen 4 can i just load that file in as long as its same engine and trans or do i have to read that trucks file and do it all again?

This is actually the first time I saw your show. I would like to know where exactly you are. I have a 2011 silverado Z71 5.3L, with a texas speed 226r cam, dual valve springs, hooker blackheart 1 3/4 headers, and a full billet internals, rebuilt 6L80. I would like to have you tune it if that is all possible. Or would you have any recommendations on a good tuner in the Waco TX area?

Using power enrichment for boost is a big mistake. If your fuel trims are swinging negative when you floor it, it locks the negative factor in and subtracts from the enrichment fuel. I chased my tail because of this. I disabled all PE and tuned the VE table and my fueling is constant. Believe me when you are running over 20psi you don’t want it running any leaner that what you set it at. Just a heads up. Do whatever makes you comfortable

I have a la swapped s10/blazer I’m new to hp tuners I’m trying to get it to idle and get rid of the eye burning smoke the ecm is out of a drive by cable ecm out of a 01 Yukon when you get away from idle it has plenty of power and runs good but no idle

Hey Matt, thanks for the awesome no BS info! Just curious on my 15 Silverado 5.3, it seems to be down on power and the fuel mileage is not great. I believe I’m starting to get a slight soft knock out of the cam area, probably a flat spot on a lifter. Would that internal engine noise also trigger the knock sensors into the same scenario as a broken motor mount?

All im hearing is that i need to put a reference line on the return regulator that i already have and skip all this stuff

How do I flash my engine back to factory tune?

Wait. You said they need more timing at peak power then said they need less at higher in the rpm band. So it needs both more and less timing?

I am adding a gen 3 LS iron Tahoe engine to my 67 C10. I am running a motorhome / torque cam as a grocery getter for grandma and show off, headers, 2 1/5” dual pipes. I was an ASE Master since 78, this is for me. I am running a MAF, auto with overdrive but non-electronic. It is full of the 8/10 goodies I could afford as I built it on the bench. I will fill out a sheet, mail it to LT1swap for program. My tech2 is set to read & operate the BCM. I enjoy wiring. After 7 years w/ACDelco, they gave us CD’s of TIS2WEB that contains service from 98-2004. This includes a service manual! I take photos and schematics include connector numbers, wire color, size and cavity numbers. PCM, BCM & TAC module all sit wire end up, in a slide-in pocket for each. Curious about fan cooling on - off temps. 185 degrees F on, and 182 off? Thanks kindly for sharing!

I just had my trans rebuild on a 2013 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 stage 2 cam, Texas long headers. It now slips a little on take off and feels like has no power compared to what it did have. Any suggestions?
