Hi, this is Wanying Liang. I am an artist based in upstate New York. I record the process of how I work on ceramic art sculptures. Farewell to My Ceramic Studio: Final Tour
Hi, friends, welcome back. For those who are new here, I am a ceramic artist based in the US. On this channel, I'd love to share my work process and studio life with you.
Today’s video is special because it will be the last time I’ll be filming in this studio, as we are about to move out. In this video, I’ll be recycling my clay, cleaning my tools, sweeping the floor, and finally giving you a full tour of my studio. This studio, which I’ve used for more than five years and where I’ve created all the works featured on my channel, was actually converted from a garage. I never imagined that the first time I’d give you a tour of it would be when it’s time to say goodbye. When we first converted this studio, we didn’t know how long we’d use it-five years, ten years, or even longer. And now, we’re about to leave. It turns out that everything in life is fleeting. I’m grateful that I had the chance to work here, sincerely document my journey, and leave behind some marks of life.
What was once an empty house is now filled with everyday items, kids, and kid’s items. It has gone from quiet to bustling. The garage was transformed into my studio, where, between moments of leisure and hard work, I created one piece after another. These works originated from me, were close to me, and then became independent entities. I once dreamed of filling this studio with works, creating a utopia for myself. I’ve also felt discouraged, wanting to abandon it all. I’ve witnessed the rosy haze of dawn at 5 a.m. and couldn’t bear to leave the mountain lit up by fireflies despite being swarmed by mosquitoes. Here, I’ve questioned myself: Who am I? Where do I belong? Is this an escape or a heartfelt pursuit? I’ve seen the pure freedom and desire in my child’s laughter and felt the warmth and embrace of nature in the interaction between clay and my hands. All of this will become memories, and I can already see these experiences turning into a floating bubble at my fingertips, sometimes near, sometimes far. This is a precious gem for my family and me, something that will shine unexpectedly in our memories when we’re close to forgetting. I also know that even those who are not with me will sometimes, through a shared spiritual connection, feel as if they were here with me.
Thank you, my audience, for joining me in unveiling the next chapter.

( I don’t want to sound creepy lol) but seriously if i was , I would take a class with you help you all day if i have to, this is amazing and i am a beginner on this and i love it. Maybe your kiddos could start with foam clay, it will be fun for them as well. Blessings 🎉
Incredible ❤

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Your work is so inspiring, I am studying sculpture and presently doing ceramics. I would love to know what the tool is that you are using for scoring ?
I love your work, it's amazing !!
Buonasera riconosco che c' è tanto lavoro dietro ,ma non riesco a capire le sue sculture hanno delle forme molto strane , potrebbe spiegarmi il significato grazie.
Oh wow those green pieces looks so awesome!! Can’t wait to see the process of those pieces!!! And excited to see your new studio too
Sono rimasta incantata delle sue opere, vorrei sapere se hanno un significato queste particolare forme . Complimenti x il suo lavoro.
How long it take to make one pot
@@robertgarcia-zn7ed for the small one, around a half day to knead it, then I need to wait for it drying out and fire it. So I think one day for a small piece.
Your work is the most inspiring and astonishing ceramic art i have seen so far. Im not always commenting, but I'm certainly following your path with amazement. I make figurines in ceramic and always seek new inspiration. So continue with your work. It is an enrichment for all of us. Thank you for doing what you are doing. 😊❤
@@ritakonig1891 Thank you so much for your warmhearted and encouraging words, I am really appreciated.

Been trying to find a video that made big pots by hand but majority where with the electric spinning table and i just wanted a way it would be a full self sustainable way and your way is so perfect to use!!!!! I plan to make a fridge made with two large pots, sand, and water in between the pots with a lid to hold my vegetables and fruits. Thank you so much for your amazing content 💯🙏✨

For the first time in my life I feel that I can regain my creative self.❤
I'm so glad.
Just wonderful 💯😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Whom purchases such works?
Una genia!!! ❤❤❤
gracias
When do you use slip to join and when not? I see you scratched the clay sometimes and added coils with slip…. Other times you used slip to join…
When I use mold, I always add a coil on the joint. Other times I just use slip.
You made the garage into such an organized studio. Yes please ask your husband to show us how to build the turn table. Would love to see your mother work on her own piece. Your talent derive from her. I always love your step by step videos of your work, Can’t wait to see your new place and what you will create next. Thank you for sharing
