I've seen more students get rejected from LUMS for various reasons because of rising competition. Ab wo bohot jald rejection letter bhej dete hain. 😳 Here are a few tips on building a profile which doesn't give a university any excuse to deny you admission. ✍️ As a student, summer break is the best time to build your profile for university. 🧑🎓 If I've learnt anything in guiding students to university for the last three years, it's that nothing can replace a good few months spent on fantastic activities. 📈 They become part of your activity list submissions, essays, and supplements. Most of all, they shape make you who you are. 🥳 As an admission officer, a student who has dedicated good time to a craft apart from regular school is always going to stand out from the rest. Good grades are absolutely going to seal the deal. ⭐ Send this over to a friend whose looking to work on their applications. You can also drop a comment below for a list of internships in Pakistan. See you there! ✅

Here's how I scored all of my activities 👇 1. Using summers ☀️: both of my internships and 2 of my leadership positions came as a result of using my summer break to build an activity list. I interned for the finance department at SKMH and a teacher at a school in Lahore. The teacher gig was with an NGO where I later became a part of the core team & then a project head. Universities are becoming more competitive and require activity lists. Don't use this time ONLY to study. I didn't do so, and I got 7A*s and 2As, I'm sure you can as well. 2. Event season 📈: when I was in college, there was a particular season where a ton of events were happening, especially in the period of September - October (right after schools open). Go for these. In addition, go for the many events LUMS hosts during winter break for students - I was a part of the PSIFI and YLES delegations my school sent. 3. Student networks 🌲: make friends with students in your school or college who attend these events and know societies. Become an integral aspect of growth in your school. This will help you gain more experience and stories, which are CRUCIAL in you landing student council roles. But, also remember, your academics MUST be on par if you want to be a council member, or get into a good university. Make sure to comment "activities" and I'll send over a link with a list of internships for this summer as well. 4. Embrace discomfort 🥳: remember, unease is something that will follow you all your life. The quicker you love it back, the faster your progress begins. I knew people who didn't start activities or events for so long that it got too late when in A2. Our CIEs were here. Don't think, just dive in. At the start, do whatever activity you can find. Then, start crossing things off and moving towards what you like. By the way, you can find a full list of activities here: qalamcounseling.com/activities/

Let's talk about extracurriculars 👋 To start off, I understand it's difficult to find activities on your own. So, through our 4000+ student network, we built an activity calendar precisely for you!⚡ But before you head on over there, here's a few tips on choosing your next extracurricular, to help you make the best use of your time: 1. Explore Interests: Try different activities like science fairs, debates, or sports. The more you explore, the quicker you'll realise what you want to stick with 🌟 2. Show Leadership: Lead a project or join the student council. This can range from NGOs, to internships and even your own projects 💪 3. Consistency is Key: Stick with activities you love and show dedication. We've even got a volunteer team at Qalam which helps in doing this! 🔑 4. Build Skills: Focus on activities that help you grow, like coding or public speaking. 💻🎤 5. Use Resources: We send out emails on university deadlines, activities and scholarships to our students each week! 🎉 You can find the extracurriculars here: qalamcounseling.com/activities/

Hello, you haven't been active on your channel for a while now but I am hoping you reply. Can you please inform me of some of the universities from USA, Canada, etc where I could apply just using my AS Level results? Since I plan to move abroad after my first year of Alevels. Also, I noticed on the websites of the universities I researched, that predicted grades of A2 Levels were also required, can you please give me an idea about how that would work for a private candidate?

Most of these drafts that you shared with us showcase that they exceeded the word limit for the statement of purpose by LUMS which is 200 words. So, is it considered alright and acceptable to exceed the word limit or should we keep it under the limit? What do you suggest?
Greetings, 200 is the minimum word length - not the maximum. You MUST write 200 words
