It's specifically for the UK market, where you can't have a lock and the blade needs to be sub 3 inches , for us in UK it's probably the best edc out there, unofficially designd to be useful in self defence as it's the only thing we can carry, but definitely Not specifically for self defense as that lands you in prison.

I picked one up recently, I love the look, what surprised me most was how slicey it is. It's a cutter. My only gripe is the top flipper is so tall It hits my hand and fails to lock up, if I try it with force it actually hurts when it hits the side of my index finger, I reverse flick it exclusively. It's perfect for edc. I've used mine for opening boxes, fidgeting, cut fruit, and yes, perfect for self-defense. But you can hold it multiple ways. Krambit style, pikal style, and even saber grip. Very diverse knife. Unlike a karambit, which has only one practical purpose, self-defense, and if you're not trained to use a karambit, then it's worthless.

I Just Ordered a DLC Coated with Translucent G10 Scythe. I plan on Carrying that one For SD. The knife is lightweight and Very Discreet. Perfect SD blade for Lounging around the House in Shorts/ Sweatpants, for Summertime Carry as well as a Carrying in a Pair of Slacks/Dress pants if you can’t and or Don’t Wanna Carry a Firearm.

Overall, I doubt you know what you're talking about in regards to knives. Also, you are too coarse; just because you paid a little money, it doesn't give you the right to insult a craftsman's effort. These knives, among many others of Turkey are hand made with deep history behind them. I recommend you to stick with Chinese factory knives which are flawless cosmetically but shite when it comes to heat treatment or overall quality, or American ones if you want to pay unnecessarily huge amounts of money for no reason. Picked up the G10/14c28n And the GoldFoil-shred carbon/ ZDF905 versions the lader is much lighter but both function perfect after disassembly and re-lube/clean. Very happy with two foe the price of one with both getting 50% off. Great review sir.

the biggest reason nobody makes flipper crossbar lock knives... is because crossbar lock knives have almost no "detent" and simply don't work well with a flipper.

9:25 yeah I have a suggestion for you, yes you need a better audio, especially if you consider yourself an audible man ) also, you can buy a cheap Chinese plastic caliper to measure the thickness of the cutting edges. I don't know why so few TH-camrs do that. It's nice to know how slicy the knife is before you buy it, for instance the ZT knives has very robust and thick 0.8mm or 1mm cutting edges but it's not as slicy as some Spydercos with 0.3mm or 0.4mm edge.

N690/N690co ( co=Cobalt ) is a ingot/billet/stock removal steel produced by the renowned European Austrian Swedish steel producers Böhler Udderholme and N690 is very similar to VG10, N690 having a very slightly higher percentage of Chromium. It can be hardened to 60rhc and at that hardness its edge retention is " Okay ", it's very slightly more corrosion resistant than VG10. Böhler Udderholme basically built on the formula of 440C and produced N690, so it's ostensibly a fortified 440C but it's certainly not a high performance steel and considering that S35VN is now arguably the industry standard steel N690's performance in any category pales in comparison. If the blade steel was S35VN then 130 bucks would be acceptable, but for N690 it's overpriced. One aspect that is probably in this knifes favor is that the N690 blade wasn't heat treated in Maniago Italy as Italian N690co ( N690 ) blades are incredibly overpriced and they always have sub-optimal heat treatments because softer steel means that it costs less to produce due to their ovens being run at a lower temperature, softer steel is way easier to machine/work, and all of this means that more blades can be produced quickly and cheaply and the Italian companies know this but they never give a sucker an even break. I would take US, Taiwan, German, and Chinese N690co blades over Italian made ones any and everyday of the week if I wanted an N690 bladed knife. BTW, MKM, Lionsteel, Viper Technocut, Fox Knives, and Mercury Knives are all part Mikita business group and if you're familiar with these makers knives you'll notice that the hardware on practically all the knives is the same and that's because it is the same. Lionsteel is the best out of that bad bunch. Extrema Ratio isn't a member of Mikita but they have a loyal ( if rather ignorant ) fan base, and yes, Extrema Ratio run there N690co soft aswel. Fortunately many Americans are now getting wise to the Italian knife industries dirty tricks and the MIkita knife group companies sales have been plummeting for a good while now, Extrema Ratio not as much but they're still on a downward turn right now, and rightly so. Got mine two days ago and holy crap, it is GOOD. Mine had a slight up-and-down play and stick, but it all wore in now and it is smooth, fast and dropshotty with solid lockup and perfect detent with no lash. Plus it was scary sharp from the box, it created smallest of swirlies on paper with no issue. And last, but definitely not least, it has crazy-good ergos - the thumb "cradle" it has is just perfect for index finger (draw-cuts) and thumb (push-cuts). Love it.

New viewer. Appreciate the review and you pointing out the detent, I just ordered mine today and cant wait to test it out soon. Hopefully it doesnt open in pocket, but ive yet to have an axis lock do that (even budget ganzos on the lower end). As far as your take on soyderco re-releasing the same knife over and over again in different steels, im actually a fan of that practice. I think they got certain designs so optimal (my PM2 is still one of my favorite knives for edc in my collection) that it makes sense to offer different blade steels- especially because that design has become a benchmark/so familiar in the community at this point. You know exactly what youre getting from an ergonomics/function standpoint, so its nice to take those variables out in a sprint run (and obviously its mor profitable for the company that way, as well). Part of me wishes they went the opposite direction as well, offering budget steels like 8cr13mov in their higher end designs- just because theres been times where i didnt want to risk losing my pm2 or damaging it- and their 8cr is a good budget steel- but the ergos on the pm2 are nearly perfect. I doubt they would do that however (production for their more budget friendly knives is in Taiwan irrc, as opposed to the U.S.).

The Hawkbill just arrived and I like it!! WMK notified me and at the time, they did not have the Sheepsfoot. The pull is a bit weak but it is what it is. I will get other models as they come in. This knife is really well made and I would love to see it in a larger size. Thanks for the introduction.
