    Any advice on fighting against condensation/ moisture?

    • @_HashForce
      @_HashForce 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Condensation happens when moisture in the air accumulates & condenses on a cold object. Thats not normally a issue with warm miners. Although high humidity can be a issue. That can be combated with heat to the extent you dont let your mining environment get too warm. Then you’d have overheating issues. Where im at in the southern US, during spring time we have high humidity & heat. Im forced to deal with the humidity and kinda accept it, otherwise the shop gets too hot. It can be a delicate balance at times, but 95% of the time its not a worry

    I live off grid. I would have to build electric sys and all. Big ASICS is out the question. Yet they make minis and cpu even chia hard drive mining doesn’t use much electricity. Weather miner, geo miner, helium, air miner the list goes on and on. There are mini cpu nodes that you can stake on etc. I don’t NEED the money so it’s goin to be a hobby. If I don’t make but a few hundred a month I’m happy. Yet,I’m hoping to get to 1k a month total. If I can I would work that buy and sell strategy to keep new equipment once it’s paid off etc. I’m more in for the staking and trading. Mining is just goin to help build that stash up so I can stake quicker. Like I said I’m starting this summer myself. 10kwh is what I’m hoping to get my electric sys for mining too. Let’s see how well I can keep that hash rate to a dollar a hash per machine. Like mini doge 2 is 400h/s @ 420w @ 3 cents a kWh. That’s if the system last for 10years. I’ve heard of some ppl systems lasting 20-25. If so that’s only goin to bring the kWh price down even more. Everything is rainbows on paper time to put my money where my mouth is….. That 10kwh sys is 15k on paper how much more will I have to add etc. it could take 20-25k. Only time will tell

      The humidity is so low in this cold weather cause its all frozen. Its almost too low. Later this spring and early summer I will have high high humidity to deal with, but there not much I can do, because I will also be battling heat which is a bigger battle. So far in the past I just accept the high humiduty & thankfully so far it hasnt cause any damage that I can see

    Your shed with the hot aisle is fantastic build. That would work perfectly all year round over here - but with your super cold spells I think you need to concoct an air circulation system that would close the external fans when it's that cold and start pumping (some, or by the look of it at 5f ......all) the warm air from the hot aisle back through the cold side?

    • @_HashForce
      @_HashForce ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you I appreciate it! Yeah thats the thing, this dosent happen often. A couple years back when I built it I thought like you and wanted to build a more permanent heat-return system I guess you could call it. After all this time, I've never needed to do it until now. The quick and easy way was just pop off a few hot/cold seperation panels and call it done for now.

    Since the cold air is likely to be low in humidity he shouldn't have an issue with condensation but thermal shock could become an issue if the outdoor temperature plumets quickly enough. It's -18 right now in Colorado. I think if I had a similar buildout I would already be running a small space heater. I don't think the temperatures for this build have dropped low enough to worry about that, yet. Nice build!

    • @_HashForce
      @_HashForce ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup 💯 spot on. The humidity is low in this cold weather, too low almost. But yeah I dont wanna take chance a rig goes down, and get blasted with sub freezing temps. -18 is REAL crazy.
