I upgraded my Akai Force with four MT41K512M16HA-125IT ram chips purchased from Ali Express. this allows you to run more plugins and more sample heavy keygroups before running out of memory! If you would like this done to your Force or MPC device, you can visit the website and place an order. mpcramupgrade.com contact@mpcramupgrade.com I also do music. my 2 releases are playing in the backgroun...

Very nice work , i have 2 questions : Does this need an OS upgrade ? and Can you now load more instruments (like on the mpc x se) ?
No and Yes
How much do you charge to do this? 🤔I have a key 61
The MPC Key 61 already has 4GB RAM so no need in doing this to one.
Happy Holidays, man! One of these days I'll be employed again and can have you do this for my Force.
I understand. Especially around this time of year, cash flow can be slow 🐌 hope you find something soon.
I recognize that Mpc one! I know from the Velcro on the bottom. I had it in a pedal case at one time. Still working great!
Glad to hear its still working for you 😁
Nice! I wouldn't pay fo that upgrade personnally, but may it force AKAI to upgrade ALL their MPC Line to 4 or 8 GB RAM.
Christmas gift!
Had my MPC LIVE II done with guy and I love it thanks for the good work. That little extra internal RAM goes a long way. 2 extra gigs might seem small in the computing world. However in the MPC sampling world… trust me it’s a lot 👍🏾👊🏽
Nice to know it's possible even though I'm still disappointed in the lackluster hardware, build quality and proprietary paid plugins, online accounts logins of all these new MPCs. Maybe scoop up a used Live 2 one day. Maybe 3 will be coming or a whole new revision that comes in another color and only adds Wi-Fi and an extra GB of RAM. That extra RAM cost all of $20 on this archaic, overpriced Radxa Rock2 1.6ghz (maybe 2?) hardware. They actually have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on these boards but it's not enabled by default. Why do that when they can just add a +, change the color, copy paste and fool people into buying another one. InMusic ruined Akai. Unfortunately, I still think they're one of the best products in its class unless you just wanna roll with a Rossum SP-1200.
would it be possible to enable wifi and blutooth on a OG MPC One?
The carrier board does not have the wifi chip like the one+ has, soldering one in may give it wifi without needing any software modification, but it's yet to be tested.
can you go back and and 16gb, 32gb, 64gb etc. do more. Also will this work for the MPC=X?
Well done indeed. The world needs more like you. Those ram chips would be okay for the Force too?
Yes, I use the same chips for all the akai devices.
is this SoM off-the-shelf, or custom?
What’s your angle with the music. I’m gonna have nightmares about a ram upgrade.😂
😆
What’s the max RAM that the MPC live 2 can handle?
Is it possible to add more than 4gb?
WOW!! That is an incredibly risky move. With that said, I'm glad you didn't toast your Force. I'm also happy for you about the fact that not only did you manage not to destroy your machine while doing the upgrade, but the upgrade itself actually WORKED!!! I was surprised the machine gave no errors and read the new ram chip with ease and without any issues. Bravo!!! Superb job on that, for real!!!!! Now, come over and do my original MPC X and my Force. Do my new MPC KEY-37 too. I'd definitely love for that to have 4GBs of ram, especially as portable as it is. Akai could've done this themselves if they wanted to, and they know it too. They're all about money and profits, just like any other business. I'm not hating on Akai. They gotta make their money too. Perfect example: Providing an option for MPC X owners to upgrade their MPC X to MPC X SE specs would be of no benefit to Akai because it would hinder MPC X SE sales.
Awesome!!
Is going beyond 4gb possible?
Wow - you are the MAN!
Why would you have 4 instances of a piano loaded🤔 Sample the piano and stream it from disk surely or trigger it as a loop.🤔
Did you notice also better overall navigation fluidity performances as well?
what about 8gb though?
@GR Computer Tech hi GR, did you had to modify the code, or the mpc software accept it without code intervention ? Thanks a lot in advance for your answer ;) Cheers from Belgium
There is no need to modify the code.
@ thanks a lot for your answer. Have a good day
Wow tons of comments good job is it possible on the MPC one ?
So, no messing with. the bios anymore? Also great job, you give us mpc live 1 users hope! Please take my money. i Need to run in live setup two multi drums instances and three or more plugins..
This is absolutely amazing, awesome skills. Is this possible at the Akai MPC One Plus?
Hmmm. Rk3588 + 32g ram would be quite nice. A Super X. With those specs it could run vst natively.
Can you make it 8? 16? 32?
wow!! great!!!
Por qué no permiten expandirle la ram que a uno se le antoje? 😢
I really want to try this! Would I need solder balls for something like this??
Would this work for Denon DJ players? It's same platform.
Quite possibly.
Cool, but impossible for my skill level. So when are you open for business😅
Check bio for info! 😁
@@grcomputertech4139 Oh Nice : )).
Bro, Thanks for manual! Make this in Russia, worked!!!
You're welcome!
Anything else you have to do after you’ve installed the 4new gigabit chips ?? The video looks like you just replaced the ram chips then put it back together and it worked??
Thats correct
Chips and dip.
I’ll send you mines.
What does that SATA port connect to? I noticed that the MPC key 37 doesn’t have an expansion, but I’m wondering if it could be retrofitted
Maybe i could look into that if i ever get a hold of one.
@@grcomputertech4139 well that red cable, on the breakout board does it just plug into a SATA connector or is it hardwired or a different type of connector? The only thing I’ve read about is some sort of. Empty IDC 21 pin connector inside the 37.
so cool, nice skill to learn
Please Akai :) Force Mk2 !
How much?

Is 4 gigs the maximum? If not, what is?i have an mpc live 2.
Is there a way to get 64 gigs of memory on it like a laptop?
No only 4gb
dude i watched your video closely and you actually used a heat gun very interesting.
There is no way for me to do that
✅ Gonna do it
Hey @grcomputertech thanks for the vid.... so do I need to order 1 or 2 of these chips???
4
Do the MPC ONE PLUS Next 🎉
Could you please post a link to buy the 1gb Ram chips you used? I am trying to look them up but can only find 8gb chip kits of 512mb kits Why would you post a 512mb chip if you say you used 1gb chips? Makes no sense.
Ive explained this in the description
Sweeet gonna do it soon
