Nah a bit north of Amherst point
thanks for this....good info!
I'm glad you were able to take away something useful from the video!! Thankyou for watching.
I made it by myself thanks to WoodPrix.
Nice work! Looks the goods! I like the idea of having both 240 & 12 volt 👍🏽
Thanks guys!!!!
I see you have a fudo canter as well, I'll check out some of your videos.
@@big_gypsea_life Yeah there bloody awesome rigs aye!
Yeh it's been pretty good so far, I've been in some big sand dunes and soft beaches and it's been ok so far, I've been able to get out of everything I've been stuck in so far. Though it could do with some more power for towing. Do you like yours so far? Any issues with it?
@@big_gypsea_life Yeah definitely could do with some more torque but like you said it’s got me out of everything we got stuck in 😂
Looking good, Cheers for sharing...
Thank you!!!
The sprinklers are a genius move given the risk
Hi Daniel son, yeh the sprinklers were Dad's idea, there's way more on the shed lol, gotta protect the cars lol
@@big_gypsea_life Oh hells yeah the cars for sure but no one thinks of protecting themselves, Just make sure you keep you and the fam safe while you're visiting
Lol I try to stay safe but you know how it is, safe is boring. Where are you at these days? Still in Tassie?
@@big_gypsea_life Not for a while now, was back in Brissy for a bit now we're up in Rockhampton.
Oh wow big move, bit warmer in Rockhampton!!!
Taping and joining the soffit sheets alllwwwAaaayyysss cracks Better off using those joining strips. Doesn’t look as smicko but allows for expansion
I used megapoxy, then James Hardie exterior base n then James Hardie exterior top coat, and there's a small gap at the beams and gable to allow for expansion. I've done way bigger ceilings on commercial jobs and they last if they're not copping massive amounts of heat. I also think setting will perform better in a bushfire over a piece of thin plastic joint mould. But really long as the ceiling looks good while I'm using my hair straightener is what really matters lol.
What site no did you guys have?
Hi, we stayed on site 23, but I didn't realise for a while that site 24 is right next to it (western side) with no bushes in-between, but it was still a big site, much bigger than most caravan parks!!!
15 miles to tarwin lower
We didn't end up going there, is it nice?
It's truly a mentally healing video.❤👍
Wow, that's like the best comment we could of ever expected, we're so glad you enjoyed the video!!!! Hopefully you are all healed now!!!
Stunning spot! I was getting nervous watching that tide at the start haha
You and me both, we were definitely getting worried driving onto such soft beach at high tide!!!
What can’t this man do 😍
The dishes lol, I just can't seem to get that right
@@big_gypsea_life your skills would be wasted on dishes mate 🤣
Hahaha, can you tell Kate that lol
Fantastic content guy's you lot will do soo well on TH-cam. Kick it into 2nd gear🤙
Hi Jamie, thank you so much for your positive comment!!! It means a lot to us!!!!
Hope there is enough power for you to plug in your hair straightener
Yeh of course I've got heaps of batteries and a massive inverter to run my biggest hair straightener lol
That was mad
Thanks mate, thanks for watching!!!
So good! Love the “Greg David Attenborough” narration.
Thanks Pesty, if only I had the knowledge lol
wow ! what a beautiful place. Thanks for showing us our wonderful country..
Hi Irina, I'm glad you liked our video and thank you for watching!! The Eyre Peninsula is so beautiful, just have to try to time it with some nice weather.
I love your videos.. 🌞
Thanks, we'll try and keep them coming!!!
I am sure that you read the sticker on the back where it gives you the distance from the wall to the stove.Correct🤔
Yeh mate of course, that's why it's got the big gap to the wall. I went to all the effort of meeting bal ratings so I be gutted if a silly fireplace burnt the place down lol
Yewwwwwwwwww
Yyyeeewwwww!!!! How are ya Shaksey?
@@big_gypsea_life living the dream..... through you guys travels from home lol keep on truckin!!!
great stuff buddy 👍🏻
Thanks Luke Skywalker
That just looks cold
Yeh mate it was pretty cold, but not as cold as Tassie.
Thanks for sharing. As a couple planning to move off-grid out west this has been very informative.
Awesome, hopefully you can get a few tips from some of my how to videos. I hope you like your new off-grid life!!!
Thats a rad build mate🤙🏾
Thanks mate!!!
It’s actually pronounced ‘har-th’. Awesome vid mate cheers!
Well there ya go, interesting, harth sounds way better lol
Hey man sick project! just wanna say i like how you also explain why you wouldnt do certain things when talking through shit - i find that helps heaps to understand :)
Cool thanks, I'm glad you liked it n thankyou for the feedback!!
G'day cobba looks fcin beaut mate
Hey Steve, thanks, I've got another clip coming soon!!
now slap 400/week cash rent on it lols, nice vid
Hahaha I wish!!!!
Mate, perfect 👌 what more does 1 or a cpl need, right? 100% goals ❤
Dam straight, maybe just a really big shed aswell lol
@@big_gypsea_life hah yep and that and a few toys inside
Nicely done. Gotta love the Lucas
Thankyou, yeh the Lucas has cut me a lot of timber but it’s a lot of work to get the finished product.
You make that look really simple. Do you have a job in construction?
Yeh I'm a carpenter, weatherboard cladding is really easy, I'm going to do a how to video on it soon.
Hi There, can I suggest when you cut your sarking to length, you roll it back up and hold it with a bulldog clip? That way you can fasten to one stud at a time. I used two clips and worked from the centre to keep it lighter.
Oh yeh good idea, thankyou
Loved it ,couple of dinkums knocking up ⬆️ knocking up a bush hut with their Aussie trade skills 🎉
Hahaha thanks mate
Nice to see some Aussie content on TH-cam.
More to come!
Termites will eat the footings and floor in a year, and yes, they will even eat treated pine good luck.
Well it's been up for well over a year, look at old farm fences they're still standing after 50years.
bogan
100%
the exact same riff for the entirety of a 13 minute video nearly made me turn it off. loved the vid, and the tune is a banger, but having the same thing on repeat the entire time is crazy
I know, I tried to change it but couldn't after it was uploaded
So you moving out as in you sold the property??
Nah haven't sold, just travelling around n working on the way.
What about building permits?
What’s a building permit?
Hey mate, I love the “precision” in your work..
Thank you! Cheers!
3k?...hmmmmmm......
Yep 3k to lockup, obviously saved alot by milling alot of the timber and using leftover and second hand materials.
Awesome shed mate! Plenty of cool ideas in there
Thanks mate!!!! I hope you can build a cool shed!!!
Your videos are awesome. Information packed and well explained. May I ask what what width and gauge steel you used for the frame and truss? Also what’d you use for the floor frame? Cheers.
Thanks I'm glad you could get some info out of it, I appreciate your feedback. So the floor frame is all 3mm thick galvanised RHS, the wall framing is all 1.2mm thick 76mm wide zinc coated which is a heavy gauge stud in steel framing, and I made the trusses from 0.75mm thick steel studs and standard steel roof battens from lysaghts.
Thanks for these 👍
No worries mate, I hope you could take something from it. Cheers Greg
Mate thanks for these videos! Keen on getting stuck into a project like this. I'm a welder by trade so I'm most comfortable working with steel. I'm defo not a bricky 🤣. Cheers from South Africa🤙.
You'll be all over being a welder, it's pretty simple. Thankyou for watching
Wow ! I still can't believe how light weight that stuff is to work with, Awesome informative video's, Cheers from Canada !
Yeh these trusses are light, but they can be made from much heavier gauge steel pending the span and wind loading. This is fine for most of Australia but it wouldn't handle a big snow load in Canada. Thankyou for watching.
Good on ya..
Thanks mate
Good job ! Team work gets the job done faster I'm sure your kids enjoy helping :) Great idea for the walls, I had 4 kids that liked to play hard & the drywall took a beating" Dad was always fixing ! Nice when the whole family can be involved it's coming along great :)
Haha the kids are good for about an hour then they get over it, they probably make it way slower but it's something different for them. Yep I could imagine with 4 kids around the drywall wouldn't stand a chance, I must of spent a week patching and painting my house before I rented it out.
Really cool, thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Awesome vid! I’m planning on getting out of the army in 2 years and moving my family to a large property where I will do something just like this. All the best!
That's sounds like a great plan mate, I hope what you want works out for you!!!!
Unreal mate, makes me want to learn carpentry. Cheers
I hope you can get out there and do a bit yourself!!
