This episode was very impactful for me as it shattered the parasocial pedestal I had placed aiden upon, forcing the chilling view upon me to see him as the flawed, imperfect, real human being that is he is.
I think (at least I hope) that he just sold the car because he didn’t want it/need it and used the money as an “investment” on the knife. I don’t think he sold the car specifically to buy the knife. I hope. Did he? No way right? Copium.
A Chinese exchange student that came to my highschool did that. He spent all of the money his parents gave him for spending in the US on cases and by the end of the year he was up like 2 grand
I had a friend that was on a school exchange and he bought a csgo knife instead of paying for his school accomodation, left the country without paying and they forgot so good job him I guess
4:22 my favorite parts of the pods are when Slime confidently says something, then gets immediately proven wrong and he just starts laughing because he knows
Aiden is peaking right now, buying a knife, this eps ad, the 2 hour power hour and the twenty minute power hour. It’s all fire and I can’t wait to see what’s cooked up in the coming episodes and the Patreons
@benjaminpadillaaa Not that I'm aware of. It might not be the case, but I think he still has the knife. It's a shame investment-wise, but it's not a bad looking knife imo, I just wouldn't have paid that much LOL.
When Slime mentioned the Twitch Bald thing I thought it would about them calling him Mr. World Wide Instead I now have another reason for and against why Slime is my favourite
Only through the intro and already a top quality episode! Ya did it again! Still patiently waiting on the QT episode though... One Day... That Factor ad read was glorious!
This is a game theory, and I also haven't finished the ep in the chance they bring it back up, but I would bet actual money that Ludwig got food poisoning from KFC lol
so crazy that aiden spent a life changing amount of money for the average person on the world on a digital knife sprite for a game he doesnt really play
My favorite thing about Slime is 50% of his opinions are things like "If you talk during movies I'll shoot you with a real gun." and the other 50% are incredibly based. The dichotomy of man made manifest.
Aiden's story is enough to make someone reasonably hate rich people lmaooooo --- edit: Wanna make it very clear, I don't personally hate Aiden!! I'm a Day 1 Yard listener and from the podcast alone, it's clear Aiden isn't some dickhead rich dude. Was just saying that an outsider could hear that story & judge him bc of it. Be nice!!
The US already HAS a pyramid - the Memphis Pyramid was originally a sports arena, but now its a Bass Pro Shops megastore. It's a fitting location, since Memphis, Tenn. is named after Memphis, Egypt, previously the capital of Egypt.
I’m on the side that Aimen buying a BFK Sapphire is incredibly based. Edit: and I think that it will end up being worth more in a year, as long as Source 2 doesn’t ruin the game. Speaking as an idiot who’s held a BFK fade since it was ~$300. I believe it will hold value.
i love that a few episodes ago everyone was so supportive of aimen when he was down and giving him so much love, and this episode half of us are ready to guillotine him for doing rich bastard things. (for legal reasons this is a joke)
Slime absolutely went way too far and it can EASILY be construed as a threat and idk how he doesn't understand that. However that is one of the funniest things I've heard in the last month
A slight historical correction for the last bit. The pyramids were not built by slaves but actually built by workers that were some of the best paid at the time and flat topped pyramids are called ziggurats.
If he just bought the knife to have a cool skin in a video game, then it was a very stupid decision. However, if he did it as an investment, it’s not that bad of an idea. The prices of used cars have dropped a lot since their peak in 2022 and used cars that are 5+ years old are down about 15%. CSGO skins(especially knives) Tend to be pretty stable and are actually likely to increase in price due to the hype around Source 2’s upcoming release. It was smart of him to buy a knife because the problem with gun skins is that a lot of the guns are on specific sides so you only have access to them about half the time you play as well as the fact that A lot of gun skin prices depend on the usefulness or popularity of the weapon itself. So like the R8 revolver skins That were fairly expensive on release aren’t worth shit now because nobody uses the gun. Another example is when they Nerfed the M4A1S, The skins got less expensive and the M4A4 skins rose in price due to the influx of players using it over its counterpart. The only bad choice I’d say in this type of investment is that, even though the skin is valued at a lot, The target market for that type of skin is extremely small. I think it would’ve been better if he had done a little bit more research and gone for something a bit more rare or sought after. There are many skin collectors that will pay above market value for A very specific “float” or skin pattern that looks exceptionally good or is just very rare. A lot of the most expensive skins in the game are actually valued that way because of their float, meaning that every “model” of that skin is not made equal.
@@MasterCalvin45 yeah, but I think it’ll work out for you. And even if it loses value, there still might be a crazy lud bud or yardigan Who would pay a premium for it because it belonged to a Bicon.
Fair enough that a used car depreciates pretty quickly, but putting that much trust in a video game skin is insane to me because there's absolutely no guarantee or expectation of stability. It would take them one second to increase the drop rate of this thing (idk how it actually works) and destroy the value, for example, because an in-game asset has no impact on their business. Just because the price has been stable in the past doesn't mean it will be stable in the future.
@@frankjohnson123 you can say that about almost any investment. Butterfly knife skins have only increased exponentially since the skin was first introduced. Never depreciated ever.
23:40 i was playing a little indie multiplayer game, my first real multiplayer experience, and me and this rando were cutting it up. We were shooting our shots, we were cutting the cheese, we accidentally bullied a kid too hard and we both legit apologized to him. Some other dude wanted to join in, bless his heart, after all we were lighting up the lobby, so he pulled out the big comedy guns. We joked about some other guy on the enemy team, he called them the n word. We made fun of some real life thing, he said it was only for n words. Me and this dude were ignoring him, but he wouldn't stop it, so finally i said "you know, that isn't funny. You should try being funny," i got a snort from my buddy, and this fucker didn't say a thing for the rest of the round
As a CS:GO head myself, if Aiden bought it for the investment, he has made a stellar purchase that has already 1.5x AND will only continue to increase as CS2 comes out. The rest of the Yard boys should be prepared to shill up that case money, cause I highly doubt it’s going to lose value. Side note: even if he does decide to keep it, there is no chance that he doesnt get what he paid for if not more if far in the future he decides he wants to sell it
This episode was very impactful for me as it shattered the parasocial pedestal I had placed aiden upon, forcing the chilling view upon me to see him as the flawed, imperfect, real human being that is he is.
My thoughts entirely
I'm surprised you hadn't noticed it sooner. mans is unhinged as Slime, just hides it better.
I have the same view of you, Pint. Don't make me face reality 🥲

usually I think the ragging on aimen is hyped up but selling your car for pixels is actually insane
I think (at least I hope) that he just sold the car because he didn’t want it/need it and used the money as an “investment” on the knife. I don’t think he sold the car specifically to buy the knife. I hope. Did he? No way right? Copium.
especially when he mocked nft collectors before . at least nft are proven to be unique
Cope harder NFTbro
to be fair, that knife will never go down in value, only rise since it super rare
Yeah I think like last week slime was OK selling everything because there so rich ...Aiden had kinda a dog shit car for his fit now

the opposite story of their friend who unlocked a knife, sold it, and bought a car. insane behavior
plot twist he sold the knife to aiden for his car
A Chinese exchange student that came to my highschool did that. He spent all of the money his parents gave him for spending in the US on cases and by the end of the year he was up like 2 grand
I had a friend that was on a school exchange and he bought a csgo knife instead of paying for his school accomodation, left the country without paying and they forgot so good job him I guess
Exactly what I was thinking, damn beat me to it
I still cant believe it
Selling the car and buying the knife is, possibly unintentionally, the most content pilled thing Aimen has done for the show.
This could be the best episode the yard has ever put out... or not... just started it.
It's a fifty fifty, its either the best or not
