I live in Florida and we have hurricanes all the time. I also have an electric stove, so what I do is I pull out my Coleman camping stove which runs on propane canisters if the electricity goes out. That way I can still cook. Just FYI

I live in south Alabama. I’ve cooked many meals on a Coleman stove and the small propane canister And a lot on the grill. I can bake biscuits on a grill. First time I learned that I thought I was brilliant but found out I’m not the first to do that. 😂😂

Hi Tammy, l live in Ontario we get ice storms & blizzards. Some places get tornadoes but no Hurricanes. I can’t imagine a hurricane. There’s always something. God is good l found a church a neighbour introduced me to. Now it’s fall here 2024. Always like ur cooking show. I learned from my mother how to cook. We had good food & clean clothes. Each night we kneeled by our bed & prayed God bless all our family. ❤️🙏🏻B.Mt. Sm. City east of TO. ON. Canada

I’m in Denton, I saw a weather report this afternoon that said the light rain would be ending in 51 minutes. Not sure how it can end if it hasn’t even started. We did have clouds though. Last weekend I went out and when I returned there was the largest grasshopper on my porch, he didn’t move at all, I came back out to water my plant and I brought a lid to put water in for the grasshopper, also as I was watering my plant all kinds of bees started coming in for a drink, well anyway, next morning that grasshopper was in the same place, he probably died of heatstroke and dehydration, I feel bad that I didn’t bother to put a little water on him. 😢

I dry my shells in the oven n grind them! We mix them in their feed! Also if you want to get more eggs! You can feed them oatmeal once a day! I add crushed red peppers when it’s cold! I stir their scraps of the day in with it! Also in summer I will freeze corn on the cob in the shell in a cotton pillow case! Then I take out one n peel it back n give them a summer treat! They absolutely love it! If I have an overripe melon I freeze it whole and will cut a piece out n treat them with that! It helps combat our Texas heat! Plus nothing goes to waste! I feed them peppers in the winter that I have thrown in the freezer in a zippy! I just break them loose one at a time! I do slice them for the chickens! We get a bad month or so for weather and peppers help them stay warmer! Also if you add salt in a water bottle and fill it 1/2 full n throw it in water it will not freeze n they love pushing it around! ❤we love our chickens! The eggs are the best! 😊

Hi Tammy, I was watching your video and as always it’s such a pleasure watching you cook. I hate that you’re having to cook for the reason that you are and I pray that this finds you and Chris well and your daughters that things haven’t gotten worse for you guys with the hurricane. Sending prayers for God‘s hand of protection upon all of you and those around you and those in Florida 🙏. I thought I would share with you I have used the glass range for probably 15 to 20 years now and I have found that when you’re putting it on a higher heat that three and four on the knob is a good average heat for frying are for getting a good temperature on something that you’re wanting to cook at a higher heat without burning it. You do have watch it ! I have bought three and loved all three of them. I’ve given two of them away as if they were new. I haven’t used anything else for years. I pray until you can get your gas range that you will find peace with yours. Your video’s always make me smile. God bless you and your beautiful family. Stay safe sweet family 🙏!…….🍃💗🍃

All I have ever cooked with is an electric stove, and I love it! My stove heats us quickly and I use the residual heat to finish the cooking. That is, I turn it off before the item is finished to use that heat to finish it. The stove turns on and off just like your crockpot or electric skillet does to keep it at the correct temperature for cooking. It would help if you put the pot over the burner instead of half/on half off like you do. Watch your video. Get a gas stove if you want, but there isn't a thing wrong with that electric stove.

We have to prepare for both summer storms and blizzards. I freeze gallon jugs of water, a lot. I keep some in the freezers and transfer some to the fridge to keep it cold if the power goes out. Be careful you have well and septic, mine on a hill but if on flat land, leach fields can flood and water has no where to go, and no power no water with a well, you can always flush with the pool water, just be careful if you are use chlorine, to much can mess up the bacteria in a tank. If its out a lot get a generator, I have a big one but hate to drag it out if it's only going to be for a short time. Been awhile since storm but hope you were safe and did not suffer to much damage. Sounds like the burner temperature controls are defective on your stove, it happens with electric stoves, gas stoves are so much better.

✍Hello Tammy and Chris and fur babies 🐾🐈 I'm praying that the storm will not harm you or the people that might be in the path of these serious storms ☔🌩🌀⚡its good you're preparing for the possibility of a power outage. Sorry to hear you lost another chicken 🐓 didn't know an owl would go after other creatures especially a chicken. I'm not bored, I enjoy listening to you and Chris in the kitchen. Oh my goodness, you're really close to the ocean. Hope that won't cause the storm to bring it close to you. We had some tornado like winds come thru it was predicted to be a tornado. The tornado sirens went off at 11:00pm for our city and surrounding areas last Thursday night. The power went out at my daughters home, she lives 15minutes from me and the power was off for 4 days. Our power wasn't affected but our AC decided to die and with all the heat I've had to open all the windows and had 4 fans running. We even left the house and was gone for about 5 hours to get cool. So we've been without AC since then and hopefully our new AC will be installed tomorrow morning but if not hopefully by no later than Friday. I think if I remember right that white thing you're talking about is from the rooster fertilizing the eggs. But you said you didn't have a rooster so that would explain why your eggs don't have that white thing. But that's what I remember anyway I could be wrong. That fried chicken doesn't look burnt they look delicious. 🙏 praying for you guys 🙏 God Bless LuvYa! Bye from Ohio🌹 Stay Safe

The problem that you're having with your electric stove is that you're trying to regulate the temp. That on-off of the eye is the stove regulating to keep the temp.
Once you find, say 350° for your oil, the eye going on and off keeps it at 350. I never use turbo. I think gas is hard to regulate. Once you keep using it, you adapt cooking times. I always think gas takes longer to cook everything, and way more watching.

I have used mushroom soup to make a gravy type sauce with beef tips and it sure does make a very tasty gravy. We love it too!
I have tried making eggs like that too however mine aren’t fresh eggs. I boil mine eight minutes and then set it to the side with the lid on for a few more. Then out in an ice bath. They peel perfect. I’ve heard fresh eggs are hard to peel.
I sure hope y’all don’t have any bodily injury. Damage to your home can be repaired! I’ll be praying for all Floridians in the path of the storm. And all in the surrounding areas like y’all, Tammy.
Messes can be cleaned up! It happens to us all! Don’t worry about it! Too much else to worry about right now!
I’m so sorry about your chicken. I follow some homesteaders on TH-cam that have chickens and they lose theirs too sometimes. But they have other farm animals too so they had to get livestock guardian dogs for their goats.
Just push the skillet off the burner for a minute or two so it can cool down. It’s what I do cooking on electric. Go ahead and boil more eggs.

I don't blame you Tammy cooking on gas is so much better. I have a question, how do you take care of your cast iron skillets? Love you and your sincere and honest way.

    We would cook up
    Hamburgers patties
    Spaghetti noodles
    Spaghetti 🍝 sauce
    🌭 Hotdogs
    Rice 🍙
Set up a large Cooler with ice to keep these foods. Don’t need to open refrigerator when power goes off!

Tammy I feel sorry for Florida and all of y’all. I been in that position many many times living here almost on the coast. I live a few miles inland but that’s close enough to get a lot of hurricanes.

Be Safe, be blessed, I remember those storms when I was a little girl, they never scared me as much as the eathquakes when we lived in California, but Texas storms put me at ease. Even the tornados, Mom would tell me it was God and the Angels bowling , crying, or cleaning house! I've always been one to believe that Those who believe don't have to worry, either way . Don't stress and believe in the Lord!

Hey Tammy and Chris , Orlando, Fl. here and it stayed away, just some rain and wind bands and the power flashed a few times so we dodged the bullet . Hope the same for you all. A few things we found very helpful in the past with multiple days without power are
    A little Coleman Butane stove
Butane cannisters can be purchased from an Asian market for about $6.99 for a 4 pk. which is very good.
A small 1200 watt generator from Tractor Supply only 169.00 and not so terribly loud .
    A small lamp
    A small fan
And most important a small coffee pot ( may have to share the power from the Gen. using those appl. )
Pre-freeze ( while the power is on ) bottled water and gallon jugs of water for your coolers.
Plenty of Peanut Butter and Jelly and Bread for the kids ( and big kids )
Among many other things which I'm sure you know already !
Best of Luck ! Stay safe !

If you have a gas grill you can use it to survive the storm. Make sure your gas tank is full. Charge electric in car. Needs a charger and adapter to use in a car.
