    Great video! I have a Hollywood Skill Crane that has a motor that isn't working properly. It's getting voltage but I haven't tested the resistance yet. Fingers crossed that it's the same issue that you showed in your video. : )

      So I removed 2 of the 3 motors so far. One was reading over 33 ohms and the other 2.8 ohms. I cleaned them both and now they both read about 2.8 ohms and are both functional. I have to take apart the assembly more to get at the 3rd motor. Do most of these motors normally have 8-10 ohms for a normal reading like yours? You mentioned that your motors are 24 volts but mine are 12 volts so would that play a factor on why my ohms are around 2.8 and functioning? My 3rd motor is not working at all so it will be interesting to see what reading I get from that one. Stay tuned....

    Interesting on the rpms. If it’s 65rpm at 24v, then I’m guessing it’s spinning faster at 34v. Replacing the claw motor on a Hollywood skill crane and there were no rpms on it. Assuming they used the same motor for all 3, I just did a rough count and got about 115 rpms on one of the working ones. So ordered one that is rated at 100 rpms. I guess I’ll find out Saturday if it’s too fast, too slow, or just right. Also got a speed controller for it that allows for cw/ccw operation in case it’s too fast.

      You definitely have to make some videos of all that work you're doing, that's very cool that you're basically reverse engineering these things!

      Joe's Classic Video Games I will for sure in hopes that it can help someone else out. But I do hate the sound of my own voice 😂
      Also I think my manual has the correct version of the board drawing. I’d be happy to share it. Your manual is slightly different but by pausing i put the two together enough to understand it a bit better.

    I have a question, my claw machine will not go up and will give a up limit fault, if i get a new gantry, will it go up or i will have the same problem.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the up limit error code is it's telling you that it never goes up so the switch never closes (or opens, some of them are backwards than others).... When you turn it on, does the motor turn at all up there to try and pull the string up? Sometimes the string can be wound up backwards so it doesn't work right, or sometimes a wire is broke on the motor too. If you put a new gantry in yes it will probably fix it, the problem is almost always either the switch or the motor up there.

      @@LyonsArcade thank. you so much, it was the string, i have fixed the problem and now it works.

    I need to test voltages and resistence on my motors.
    I am getting a Error code of 88 01 which is the Up switch not working right.
    The annoying thing is I have replaced those and still giving me the error.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually when it gives a switch error it's not that the switch itself is bad, it's just that it never opened or closed like the board expected. So it often is wired backwards, or the string is wound backwards, or the motor isn't moving, or the blade or button on the switch isn't touching what it should.
      When yours starts it thinks the claw is all the way down, if the claw is all the way up you need to figure out why it's not touching the switch or if it's opening when it should be closing, or closing when it should be opening, etc. Common problem is the string wound up backwards on the pullys so everything works backwards....

    I have a drews tiger paw as well, and it seems to be in great condition, but it is showing on the led, "1005". Not sure what that error code is, HELP??????????

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking about it a little more, that has something to do with one of the switches. It's telling you it's expecting one of the switches to press in, but it's not, so it's throwing up the error code. So when it starts it raises the claw up and hits a switch, then it moves to the left and hits a switch, then it moves to the front and hits a switch. It's telling you which switch isn't working, which could be because the switch is bad, or the motor isn't working that moves it, or none of the motors can work because the fuse is blown.

    Great video!! Greetings from Monterrey, MX. Hey I have a plush crane machine that is doing some weird behavior and the technician that is working on it does not have any clue about how to fix it... The issue is the next: when the crane grabs a plush, it go up and when it gets to the top, it just restarts you lose the plush and any credits that you have, machine just restarts it self and you have to start over... This happens randomly and only when you actually grab a plush... Any clues? I can upload a video by the way... Thanks in advance
