This was the only game I picked up with my brand new psvr2 and after setup and getting to the "how to portal" part of the tutorial I was stuck. This helped me realize my left controller was the problem. Returned, just got replacement yesterday and it worked! I can now portal around. Thanks for showing it's supposed to work!
I'm glad you were able to get replacement to resolve the problem, but if it happens again on your new system, ask for help in the PSVR reddit. There are good folks there that know how to help people having that particular issue. I've never had to do it, but read about how there is some debree that has to be blown out using an air canister or something like that. Cheers!
You are welcome. I tried finding this type of guide but without luck. So I'm using what I have learned so far with my earlier characters to provide something that will help more people get started without being overwhelmed by everything they don't know. I am sure a more condensed version can be created because I am still learning and not necessarily being most efficient.
At the end of the Tutorial you have to cast Teleport spell to exit after which it will let you Select / Create Character and play the main game. Following video link shows you full Tutorial: th-cam.com/video/zcKeoFYCPL8/w-d-xo.html Skip ahead as needed for whatever part you are stuck on to see what I had to do. Hopefully this helps. Good luck!
Question: I've gotten to Blighthaven, si theres a new 'portal pad' in a new safe area. The safe are has some facilities the main starting town has, but nowhere near all. For instance, there's no crafting or merchants. It seems the portal stone is a seperate "network" from the one that connects areas around the starting town, since theres no option to teleport to the starting town's pad. Is that intended? Ig so, do you really have to trudge all the back on foot every time you want to go to the merchants or craft something, once you reach Blighthaven?
Yeah man all the instanced dungeons have their own teleporting network. If you want to go back to the main base you have to leave the dungeon through the door you came in and then just use the portal you used in the tutorial to get back. For my first 30 hours I always forgot about the portal but it's definitely super useful. You can even walk back through it to get back to where you left. Using the portal mid dungeon when you're almost dead will send you back to that starting safe room so if you're nearly dead or whatever you can go back and heal with no drawbacks.
Blighthaven is the first dungeon. The dungeons are big and have their own teleports, quests, etc. The starting area of the quest has station where you can use couldron, make potions, sell items, or stash things. The starting teleport pedestal is useless, but once you go down the giant ladder and go right, you will find a room on left that can be opened to unlock your first teleport pedestal. This will allow you to get back down in future without having to climb down. As you continue you will find other teleport pedestals so the game makes you walk / climb around as you explore but does open up fast travel spots to make it easier to get back once you have reached certain points. To get back to dungeon camp, you can use portal spell. I recommend you activate portal spell and leave it open near any big fight before you engage because when things get rough, it is a good retreat option, or even if you get killed, it can be a good way to get back to the front-line more quickly. To get back to original camp with item crafting / scrapping and the blacksmith / alchemist, you can get back to start of dungeon using teleport pedestal or portal, then exit dungeon, then portal back to original camp and back. Do keep in mind each time you "travel" like in / out of dungeon, all enemies will respawn.
@@Dyrnwynn I think it is because the game is keeping track of which enemies are already defeated or not, so it has to zone areas to keep that immersion, but needs a way to reset / respawn enemies as well. I haven't played another VR game that is this ambitious on the things it is doing right (immersion / gameplay wise), so I am much more accepting of anything that feels clunky / sub-standard if comparing to flat games.
Thanks for the fair feedback. If there is any specific question I could answer, let me know and I'll answer. I continue to play this game regularly with my VR squad on the weekends so I should be able to answer.
The default is to move at fastest speed supported unless you press R3 which will make you move even slower. You can change this in settings to where pressing R3 will make you faster. Both options are slow, with one being slower. The only way to move about faster is to use the Dash which uses Mana. There are some skills you can invest in to make your Dash more available / better.
The first hour of playing this game I was overwhelmed and didn't think I would like it (spent 15 mins trying to figure out how to open the portal). I kept playing for the fact I dropped $55 to check it out. Now I'm hooked and on youtube trying to learn more tip's and tricks (EXCELLENT JOB ON THIS VIDEO OP!). Its a really fun game, with great sword fights and parrying. I'm really just getting started but I can already tell I'll be getting my moneys worth out of it.
I've been playing this game and I see now that for some reason when you go to aim the bow kind of moves off center. It's hard to explain until you actually do it. I have found a way to shoot where it doesn't do that often. I hope they fix it. I think it might have something to do with the controller getting close to the head set.

Thank you for creating this new character starter guide, I am tempted to make a new character just for multiplayer!👍

Do you know where to find chest keys please? There’s a ton in goblin camp but no keys so far 😮
So quests will give or they can be random drops as you go through dungeons.

Horrible shot
19:36 The game doesn't have aim-assist for the Archer like it does for the Mage. Skill development is required to aim accurately more consistently.
