Its so crazy to see how friendly they all are compared to living in a big modern city that has everything. I used to have neighbour from Morocco, and he was just like that. He was the only person here greeting and helping everyone, where he could. He got hired here by a big car manufacture here in germany, and other than rent, and food. he sended every penny he earned back to his family in Macocco. They are definitely different over there.
Living in society, saying 'hello good morning!', helping each other, etc. appeared to be eliminated in "developed (individualist) countries". Luckily, Mediterranean countries try not to lost our familiar culture. Though, in this case, I think that they are friendly because poverty make you remember that together we are stronger. Probably there is not a romantic reason behind that.❤
You are rich man, maybe not monetarily but the experiences youve lived through good and bad have made you rich in life. You are living much more than many people claiming to be alive. These Morocco vids have been awesome. I could never imagine getting out there to ride. Maybe one day.
Wow , i am from Bulgaria , maybe poorest country in Europe , but Marroco is raw man ... yea we have so tough terrain and so many mountains , but this people are living with almost nothing ... Its like year of 1950 for them ...
Most of the Berbers like living in the mountains, it's been like that for years. They are awesome people and the nature they have is UNREAL. Life is good when it is simple.
Your latest videos are reminding me of Noraly on her channel, Itchy Boots. Nice to view places/small towns and villages most of us will never get to see.
Great video. My family is from Algeria, in mountains and towns very similar to these. I don’t know when exactly you tried this but the Sun really beats the hell out of you there. Kinda wondering how it feels for a Canadian. I also really liked how you tried your best at communicating with everyone in both Arabic and French. That small step already goes a long way to get those kind reactions from any local. Waiting for episode 3 ! Edit: just noticed the lack of leaves on the trees, so it was probably winter. Must not have been too hot then!
That's a proper adventure. It's honestly one of my favorite things about riding when you get to be somewhere totally new. Making your way through the ride like that is so exciting. Plus those long soul searching climbs are that perfect singletrack therapy when you need to work things out in your head. Thanks for bringing us along.
I love Morocco. One of my all time time favourite travel destinations. I wonder where the mountain bike scene is at in the country? Looks like there is great mtb potential. I hope they have recovered from the earthquake.
I also love Morocco and visited several times to backpack there. I learned that about 30k children in morocco live on the streets and about a quarter of the youth in morocco is unemployed. Mountain Biking is an expensive hobby so I guess people of morocco have more existential issues than riding a bike for pleasure.
@@cloneoffunkenstein I do not think that you have visited Morocco. You cannot understand the culture. Moroccans love horse riding and other sports such as racing pigeons. Football. I am a fan of bicycles and I am a poor person. I have 3 road bicycles, 2 carbon and 1 aluminum mountain bike. Of course, in large Moroccan cities there are many cyclists We Moroccans consider these areas that you are witnessing to be poor and remote areas. They love this simple life and are not obligated to stay there. Most of them can leave to live in the cities and look for work. As for children living on the streets, this is normal. There is homelessness even in the richest and richest European countries. What I am trying to say here is do not compare your life with the lives of other peoples. This is a mistake. What you think of as poverty or backwardness is a way of life for some.
It's great to see you and your videos again! the production quality is out of this world, and you are amazing for doing this adventure and sharing it with us. Can't wait for episode 3!
We had fun riding in Sacred Valley in cusco, Peru, the kids were all happy to see us and some of the LLamas too! lol . Its fun getting lost in foreign lands sometimes.
Thank you for doing this kind of videos documenting your trip. Like you there are other mountain bikers that have done this and is a good thing, at least in my case that I can’t afford it, it makes you feel you are there with you guys. Thank you very much. God bless you. 🤙
wow just epic scenery specially at 27:47 talk about breakfast with a view The title made me chuckle though isn’t that the fun of it adventure 😂😂. on a interesting note I wonder how many punctures Eric had during his trip
Loving this. This is the way I would do it lol, no guide, arriving at shop a little tried tumbling with change. Random trails with hike and bike and sometimes very rewarding! People seem really nice. Richmond, Ontario lol I wonder if drones will be confiscated more now that they can be used as weapons.
You need to start learning other languages! Maybe get a sponsor from Babel? That would dovetail in so well and as well you would have better times getting directions.
I've been wanting to the get the arm sleeves that I've seen bikepackers and bike tourers wear, usually white, to protect from the the sun. Hopefully you got through ok! ☀️
Note to self (As a guy who really struggles with heights/exposure): Don't rent a car in Morocco. 😊 Thanks for bringing us along on this journey....truly spectacular.
Watching your videos makes me feel nervous for you. I’m French and I would never wander alone in the middle of nowhere in Morocco. I would be too afraid to meet bad people like thieves or Al Qaeda… plus you speak English so most of them will think you are American. And Americans are not too popular in Muslims countries. I just hope your trip will end well. 🤞
Hi everybody, w the andalusian people are just from Spain. We are not from North Morocco nor any other country but Spain. In fact, we are very different countries and cultures actually. 😅
you coulda told the guy that "called you out" for being rich that this is your main source of income? he just assumed you're some bloke with too much money seeking adventure. When you're a bloke making money while seeking adventure

Didn't look like an easier day to me. Looking forward to part 3. You must have bullet-proof tires on your bike.
