Needed this call. Similar story, situation, my dad and I would manage differently, etc. 1000% agree with Dave that the biggest hurdle was my dad I have different management mindsets. He used his business as a charity (in some ways) but now needs to prep for a better future for my family.

Ya but you work there already… this guy literally got fired and now he is the boss of his dad’s company. Everyone will resent him if he starts bossing people around when he has no time. 25 years his dad was the boss. He’s only has done it part time and then went away to his own career.
