Sweet. Thanks for the demo. I am jealous of your dark room.

Thanks man, I’ve slowly shaped it over the years. My sink isn’t actually plumbed in atm, I just use it to contain my work and do any washing in my slop sink. Ill keep dialing in the space.

Toying with the idea of standardizing around D72 for my paper developer for cost savings. Is there any reason I couldn't just carefully measure out the right amount of each dry ingredient, stick them all in a single container, and mix them simultaneously immediately prior to a print session? What is the risk of not individually mixing them all into solution in series? Isn't Detkol essentially just these chemicals (+ maybe a few others that don't go into homebrew D72) all together as a powder?

      Hey Andrew,
In theory you should be able to pre measure everything and keep it stored and ready to rock.
I think the only thing you have to worry about is making sure everything goes into solution. By doing it one at a time, you ensure it all gets mixed up. I was told the order they get added is important, However when you buy a bag of dektol, you just mix it all at once. I've mixed the chems out of order by mistake and never really had an issue. As long as the H2O is hot and everything dissolves, you should be good to go.
I would suggest just running an experiment. Order all your chems, weigh out enough from one batch and then give it a go mixing it all at once. I wouldn't weigh out all the chems until you know it's working within your space.
Let me know how it works out for you!
      - Nick

@@nickbrandreth I've settled on trying E72 instead of D72, but the results should be the same, and I think I'll take your advice of running an experiment where I try the regular approach of making stock solution, vs a pre-mixed powder added to water to make working-strength solution in one go. See if it causes any difference in the results.

I can’t find metol and it is the only missing chemical from all 5 chemicals, did anyone knew where to find it?

hello, i need some confirmation because there's another source that use 500ml of water at the beginning, is it 500 or 750? thaks for the video btw!

I'll never say my way is the only way to do something.. But I will say that this way works consistently for me personally, The recipe how I make it, makes 1liter of developer. I always start with 750ml, add my dry chems and then when everything is in solution, I add 250ml to make 1 liter.
