this is somewhat unrelated, but could you say the Manichee’s idea of two souls fed into freud’s Ego, Superego and ID?

Potentially...how are you seeing the link?

The manichees believed that there were two different souls, one good and one evil, which Freud could see like the superego and the id, but then maybe developed it more from that point. It’s a bit of a reach, but it’s what first came to mind 🤣 :)

I think it is a good way of remembering the views but as the Manichees are only a small part of the overall topic just be careful to not go down a tangent. Freud's views of Id and superego /Plato's three parts of soul can be synoptically used in many different topics :)

What is the actual difference between concupiscence and cupiditas?

Concupiscence is specifically sexual desire whereas cupiditas is more desire/yearning so could be sexual but also materialistic :)

Hi, there are lots of extra videos including support materials for the CA in the Criminology membership. I am also planning on doing a live stream beginning of January to help any students about to do their unit 1 CA which I will advertise on the blog and TH-cam page 🙂
