  • My first (and last!) Astro-video-shoot of the Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.
Got a once in 800 years opportunity to capture Saturn's Rings and Jupiter's four largest Moons (Ganymede, Europa, Io and Callisto) forming the great conjunction, from the rooftop of my home.
On the night of December 21, 2020, Saturn and Jupiter came very close to each other thereby making a history. But their actual distance was around 735 million km (450 million miles which is termed as close!) separated by 0.1 Degree in space. The two planets appeared this close on July 16, 1623 but was not viewable from earth due to the Sun's glare, so it was not considered special. The last real "Double Planet" was visible on March 1226 (794 years ago). This made today a special!
Expect my next Astro Shoot on March 15, 2080 when these two gas giants come comparably close.
