I’m old enough to remember when he died. I think I was about 14 or so. I ended up becoming a paramedic and I worked during the tail end of the huge AIDS crisis. That disease is awful. Worse than that. Nobody deserves to go through What these poor people had to suffer with. And there was such a stigma. I am so glad that we can talk about it now and that his story can be told. It is so sad that he couldn’t live his life the way he should’ve been able to. He should’ve been able to be free. I hope this documentary does him justice.

Young people need to watch documentaries like this. My mother did not come out of the closet until she was in her fifties. She wasn't selfish or fooling my father. It was out of necessity and fear. Growing up in the 1930s-1960s, especially in religious households, you ran the risk of being abandoned by everyone you knew, losing your job, your children, or worse, jail and possibly being murdered. Go down the rabbit hole of TV and movie stars who had to stay closeted: Troy Donohue, Rock Hudson, Robert Reed. It's heartbreaking. More of these stories need to be told.

I was 10 years old when I first heard about his battle of AIDS. The last appearance he did with Doris Day broke my heart. God bless Elizabeth Taylor for creating AMFAR, and now, with moden technology and medication, people are living longer. AIDS is no longer a death sentence. I wish Rock lived a little longer to get the medications to live. The Reagans refused to make the AIDS epidemic a priority until 1987. By then, thousands of people died of the disease. Hopefully this documentary will give Rock Hudson the appreciation and kindness that he finally deserves which he didn't receive during the last few years of his life.

AID's is a horror that has left many of us, who survived, traumatised to this day from experience of witnessing the horrible deaths and losses which wiped out an entire generation of beautiful men. Rock provided a face to our collective tragedy early on during our 'pandemic' and in so, helped humanise our suffering and shift public opinion in our favour from the horrible fear and loathing which we initially experienced. RIP Rock!

I have an amazing story. One time I was driving home and I felt the presence of the Lord, come down to me from above. I started getting chills and I felt so comfortable with Him.
I knew if I asked Him to play a song on the radio, He would.
So I said "Ok Lord, play Come as you are..."
I didn't know what station it was on or anything, but I turned the radio on and the song started playing right on the spot, perfectly...
I started getting flooded with chills inside, and started crying. When I got home, He stayed with me for 10 minutes till I got out of the car.
I've been getting amazing prayers answered for around 5 years since, because that experience made me stop doubting when I pray, and I follow Biblical instructions, best I can.

@@marknewbold2583 I had decided I would pray every day for God to give me a powerful testimony, till it happened. So I could be more effective for the Lord, by helping people to Christ and strengthening their faith. After around 8 months or so, it happened.
Then I started getting amazing prayers answered because it blessed my faith. There have been 3 people at one church I used to go too, who had stage 4 cancer and the church prays for them and they've been healed over night.
I had a woman call me not too long ago and she told me she was healed from schizophrenia after I prayed for her a long time ago.
We had a deaf woman at my other church who was healed by church prayer and can hear.
Last year, I told a co-worker 2 stories and asked if I could pray for him and he said yeah. I grabbed his hands and prayed for his family, finances, and things. I came to work 4 days later. He said he had gotten promoted to GM Manager over a bunch of different stores. Getting paid from 900 to 1600, max tips on reg, and his wife was getting insane overtime money. I mentioned that we prayed and he looked at me like he saw a ghost.

I was seven years old when he died. Even at that age I knew it was a huge deal. I remember there was really crass “joke” that was being said about him. I wouldn’t bother to say what it was. It was really bad. No wonder he stayed in the closet.

from memory, he did come out publicly at the very end of his life in announcing he had AIDS and was surprised at the positive response. also i’ve heard by the mid 1960s when he was no longer box office # 1 among friend he was comfortably out. still things have change so much since when he died!

Would make for a great movie. But studios are probably nervous about putting up the money for something that could be considered niche. It would probably need a fairly big budget to recreate movie sets and such.
