Just picked some collard greens out of my garden. The greens are perfect brilliant green, without any insect damage. I usually pressure cook them on the stove but using the instant pot my daughter gave me today.
Great video for collards but if you cook mustard greens for 25 minutes they are so tender they will disintegrate. I just soak a bunch of picked, chopped collards in water and white vinegar for about 15 minutes and they are clean. Those bagged greens are easier but they make me mad with all the stems and so little actual greens. Cheers!
Thanks. I see everyone cooking "greens" from 5-30 minutes in the pressure cookers. But not all greens have the same hardiness. I've always just used collard's, but picked up a couple of the pre chopped mustard greens. I'll probably shoot for about 15 minutes.

I do this recipe in a regular pot or even a frying pan and I use the same recipe for all bitter greens: organic virgin coconut oil or avocado oil to saute greens in. Olive oil has too low a smoke point which is why I don't use it. Add in other veggies as desired like peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower. Flavor with a good shot of hot sauce, a couple squirts of organic lemon juice, salt and pepper.
@@staysnatched I'm talking about the fact that I don't have an Instant Pot. I don't know what soul food greens are. I use any bitter green like spinach, Swiss chard, arugula, escarole, Brussels sprouts, collard greens, etc.

Greens should be washed no matter what.... Bagged or Loose!
Then wash them.

I have found that pork necks give the best flavor/texture profile for me. I don't understand using bacon when it's going to be all limp.

Frying pan? Are you talking soul food greens? Or just that you saute them?

@@59skupe gotcha. Soul food greens are what these are. You don’t use a frying pan even if not using the Instant Pot.
