  • If you’ve noticed that your steering wheel isn’t centered while driving straight, follow these steps to address the issue.
Disclaimer: I am not a certified mechanic, but I’ve gathered insights from car repair videos and enthusiasts. Remember, this method won’t fix major alignment issues, but it’ll help center your steering wheel.
Adjusting the Tie Rods - While parked on level ground, ensure your wheels are straight.
Observe the position of your steering wheel relative to the center.
Locate the Tie Rods - The tie rods connect the steering gearbox to the front wheels.
There’s an inner tie rod (closer to the center of the car) and an outer tie rod (closer to the wheel).
    Adjustment Process:
Loosen the lock nut on the inner tie rod.
Turn the inner tie rod clockwise (to pull the wheel toward the center) or counterclockwise (to push it away).
Make small adjustments-half a turn at a time.
Tighten the lock nut after adjusting.
    Left or right:
If your car veers to the left when you put the steering wheel in the centre, this means both wheels need to aim to the right more to counteract the unwanted angle.
If your tie rods are located behind the centre of the wheels (I think most cars are) then you will need to on the left wheel, unscrew the inner tie rod from the outer tie rod (which in essence will push the outer tie rod further way from the inner tie rod) and for the right wheel, screw in the inner tie rod to the outer tie rod. This will bring both wheels to aim slightly more right than they were previously.
    Symmetry Matters:
Whatever adjustment you make on one side, mirror it on the other.
Aim for balance to keep the steering wheel centered.
    Be Cautious:
Overadjusting can lead to alignment issues.
Test drive the car after adjustments to ensure stability.
If you’re unsure how to do it after watching this video or if the problem persists, consult a mechanic.
Proper wheel alignment requires specialized equipment.
