    Awesome to see how it used to be done. Now we in our climate controlled cocoons.
    You should retrace your route and do a then and now.
    I wish we had taken more pictures and had videos of our old trips.
    Thanks for sharing and what an awesome adventure.

      You are so right about those climate controlled cocoons I honestly feel a bit detached sometimes.
      Definitely planning to retrace some of these trips perhaps even in some of these old vehicles to get the full experience.
      I am lucky to have found some of these old videos, but there were many unrecorded, memories relegated to old slides and dodgy instamatic pics. But that’s what is so cool about today being able to document trips now, they too will be amazing to look back on in 30 years time.
      Thanks for the comments and for watching appreciate it.

    Thanks for sharing your adventures. Nice to see how fairly standard vehicles are so capable

      That’s the great thing with Land Rovers they are so capable just as they are unmodified. Thanks for watching

    Fantastic video! I loved the vintage quality video, it gave the piece an air of period adventure. Very cool! I dream of doing that trip n my Mahindra Karoo pikup 4x4 double cab with a Stealth slide on camper. Please keep these amazing shares coming!

      Thanks a lot, sometimes I worry about the poor quality but that was the best at the time. I’d also love to redo this trip again, it was great. Thanks so much for watching and commenting really appreciate it.

    Where did you sleep? Inside the car? Floor tents? Great images! The lack of mechanical skills are something that still makes me afraid of doing this kind of trips. How old were those land rovers on this video?

    • @TheOverlandLegend
      @TheOverlandLegend  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We slept in an OZ tent on the ground for longer stays but also slept inside for the one night stops. Both our vehicles had been recently rebuilt so they were in good condition. The Defender was also new. As long as the vehicles are in good condition properly serviced and we’ll looked after they are reliable. Breakdowns are typically similar and simple to fix with a good set of tools.

      Thanks a lot! Editing these old videos is always a challenge with the poor video quality and dodgy audio. But it’s still great to watch

    Hi Alan, I've been following your vids for a while, enjoying the restoration and especially this trip, I want to do at least part of it myself. I bought a s2a dormobile at the beginning of the year, but am in post op rehab, so have to wait 😞 I am in fourways, would love to meet up sometime.

      Hi Jake thanks for watching and commenting. Can’t believe you have a Dormobile, I’ve never seen one in the flesh before, I’d love to see it. I wish you a speedy recovery and let me know when you are recovered to meet
