I hope Ceci does well there and either gets a good extension or gets dealt to a contender at the deadline. Wish him all the best. I'm excited about Emberson, though, that's a low-key exciting pickup. His analytics look nice and you never say no to a young, right shot shutdown D! And here's to NOT dealing a 1st or a 2nd to get out of these offer sheets!
Killing it on the videos Patrick! Hopefully they keep Holloway, still want that speed and physicality but the Oilers’ top 9 is so good it’s hard to be upset. Safe to say Skinner will produce more than Holloway would have, I just don’t like the idea of getting rid of Holloway for his center/PK/powerforward potential. Looking forward to your recaps after what promises to be a crazy busy couple of days ahead. Let’s get that Draisaitl news already!
Thats a good trade. -4 in 18 minutes a game in 30 games on san jose is pretty good consideing. Im sure he will give his all considering hes back with our coach. I like it
Nice guy… not the most dependable defensemen… might be contextual, but just too many dropped plays where he was caught flat footed, or out of position.. I won’t entirely miss him.
Have only been an Oilers fan for about a year at most, but i will miss him , too For what it is worth, he did give a great assist in game 7 of the finals, no one else can say that....😅
Wow 2 trades in one day unreal. I think both broberg and Holloway get sent packing. Got there replacements on place and if we need to up grade we do it later
I'm still not sure they sign either. Does it make a ton of sense to clear space and then immediately run up to the cap again? Or would you rather have a bit of room as you go through the season? To me it seems both these moves are for cheaper replacements
Guys Oilers are walking into a trap if they match Broberg ..remember if you give him $4.5 then Bouchard will be looking for $7.5- $8 mil and you have the Leon contract and Campbell hit will be 2.3 mil ..take the picks and move on and remember !
I like the idea of giving Broberg, Ty, Stecher opportunies to see what they can do till the trade deadline. When the trade deadline comes we will need to pick up a veteran 2nd or 3rd line d-man
Now we just need a Leon contract, let the dust settle with our defence core. ( 2 + 14) (25 + 86) (27 + ?). Left is Brown, Stetcher, Emberson. All guys we signed or traded for. I think it will be Stetcher, but who knows perhaps they all get like 10-12 game looks to see who fits best with Brett Kulak? From the updates I saw, Emberson seems like a good solid shutdown guy, Brown is a big monster that really only has size from what I gather and Stetcher, more experience more of a stay at home type of guy.
Not sure how I feel about matching the Broberg offer. I don't think he's worth 4mill at all. Maybe 1-2mill. Sure hope it doesn't turn out to be like nurse where we overpay and are stuck with it.
Like many , I am neutral on Cece. Again the large contract to Nurse has hurt the team. Both trades show that management is actively putting pieces in place while trying to get cap compliant. I was looking forward to you take. Thanks Patrick.
I am tending to agree with Holloway going to St Louis and Broberg staying. This is just working out to well for that not to be the case. To many coincidences for things lining up.
I believe Bowman, like any man, deserves a full chance in his position. We don't know everything about he history...but we do know that J Jackson is no fool, so maybe, just maybe, there are more rabbits yet to be pulled out of hats. I think the Oil are going to make the right moves.
No particularly strong feelings about Ceci one way or the other but ya gotta feel for a guy getting moved from a Stanley Cup finalist to the worst team in the league. That's gotta suck!
I dont thnk these trades lean towards Holloway leaving. I just dont think Holloway is leaving for 500k more a year. With foeghle and mcleod gone he is in an optimal place to havs a breakout season. The oilers have done right by him throughout his time with us. Vancouver just didjt want to give a draft pick up in this trade.
Why would they nit sign Hollaway, he plays with jam something they need . Letting him go makes them so soft. Plus Broberg has not proven he's worth the money and he wanted out . Let the headache go
I don't see them keeping Holloway. Savoie will likely take his steps. Which is sad because I really think Holloway would have been a great winger/center. I feel like with the old stars they have dropping bags to win a cup if they have any young talent rn that's demanding money they walk.
I dont know about Broberg I think he got shaffted by Oilers and then played great in playoffs but is he worth that much money, I say sign free agents ex Oilers Schultz and Barrie to close out your D Pairings.Quite a few young guys now but we are built for a Cup next year and their will be no excuses if they dont win it all.
Broberg may not be worth it right now, but I can't picture him being not worth it by the end of the contract. He's got massive potential, and looked good in the playoffs. Just don't want him to take off after the contracts done. And Holloway ain't worth it with how stacked the top 9 is. Let him go, he's a luxury.
So 2 trades, Ceci is gone. I still think the Oilers let Holloway and Broberg go and use that cap room to pick up someone else near the end of their contract via trade. I don't think Broberg is worth the money. I think that Jackson made moves at the beginning of July to make the loss of Holloway, Broberg and Kane (on IR) easier to deal with and if the stars aligned then the Oilers would be overloaded with talent. I still think Kulak goes this week as well, and we will see the Leon extension announced. 😊
Have to keep Broberg. Spent 4 years developing him, he’s going to be great so have to keep him. Totally agree he’s not worth over 4 million, but I don’t think we have a choice. Broberg is going to be a physical offensive defenceman for us. As much as I would have loved to keep Holloway this is the better move.
@@seen48 insane how many fans are shitting on him when he's only 23 years old and the season hasn't even started yet, i agree it's a bit of a overpay for now but i think he'll earn this deal
So you are trying to convince me that a guy who spent most of career in the minors is all of a sudden worth +$4mil? I’m not seeing it. What am I missing?
Broberg isn't worth 4.5M for the next 2 years, but he is worth than the 2nd round pick right now. If the Oilers match the offer sheet, it shows Draistle, McDavid, and Broucher that the team is not willing to take less to win the cup.
I hope Ceci does well there and either gets a good extension or gets dealt to a contender at the deadline. Wish him all the best. I'm excited about Emberson, though, that's a low-key exciting pickup. As a sharks fan Ceci's contract was definitely worth a first rounder and you totally should have given us yours
Killing it on the videos Patrick!

Agree 100%
Hi Patrick, thanks for the update!
Thank you for the UPDATE makes Monday morning in 🇬🇧
Easier ✌🏾
Thanks for your update Patrick 👍 I don't want to see Holloway in another uniform but is the business
I see Emberson playing in the NHL for us, intriguing young dman. I'm happy with these 2 trades so far.
Thats a good trade. -4 in 18 minutes a game in 30 games on san jose is pretty good consideing. Im sure he will give his all considering hes back with our coach.
I like it
Nice move !!! Bowmaster Bammmm shutting up the peanut gallery !! Nice work bud !! Always fun hearing good news !!
I'm going to miss ceci...
Nice guy… not the most dependable defensemen… might be contextual, but just too many dropped plays where he was caught flat footed, or out of position.. I won’t entirely miss him.
@@Apoch86 no but he's a good 2nd or 3rd pairing d-man and he is really close with a lot of guys.
Have only been an Oilers fan for about a year at most, but i will miss him , too
For what it is worth, he did give a great assist in game 7 of the finals, no one else can say that....😅
Thanks for uploading I was waiting for your thoughts

Huge trade W ty emberson might be our 3rd pair RD

Im from Chicago and Stan was a great GM - he doesn't deserve the hate. He is a good man.

I like it a lot!
Don’t know why there is so much stress and drama with Broberg and Holloway.. They have had 0 impact, like none
Like many , I am neutral on Cece. Again the large contract to Nurse has hurt the team. Both trades show that management is actively putting pieces in place while trying to get cap compliant. I was looking forward to you take. Thanks Patrick.

Ty Emberson is a young high end prospect and if he can reach his potential then the Ceci trade could turn out to be a big steal for the Oilers.
No particularly strong feelings about Ceci one way or the other but ya gotta feel for a guy getting moved from a Stanley Cup finalist to the worst team in the league. That's gotta suck!

He's already agreed to move, it's up to the Oilers to decide whether he stays by matching.

See you in an hour for the next Oilers update video! 😂
It’s to bad Ceci had to go. Well liked guy in the room but feel bad for him from going to a Stanley cup contender to a bottom league team.
Same 2007 mistakes Oilers rebuilding for the next 10-15 years??
Oilers needs grit how come they could not get kostin
Still think Broberg goes, Dylan stays. Possibly both still go. I see this as the oilers moving on. Savoie in and a bit of wiggle room.
So 2 trades, Ceci is gone. I still think the Oilers let Holloway and Broberg go and use that cap room to pick up someone else near the end of their contract via trade. no way they let Broberg go , they could have just kept ceci if that was gonna happen
That would be interesting, it makes sense tho, especially the kulak move it makes room.

I was neutral on Ceci , he just made too money, gotta find players on the cheap for a superstar team, I'd look at moving Kulak in the season as well
Adios Ceci, Mr game #7 but other then that not the best player out there.
i didnt know chiarelli was back in town. this is exactly the same crap deal he woulda done with broberg. $4.5m for this guy??????? are you serious???
