I think both these moves are to get cheaper replacements. It doesn't make sense to clear cap room just to overpay for Broberg and Holloway and go right back up against the cap. If they let Holloway go then they get a 3rd rounder back, so maybe they sign Broberg. Except the consensus was almost 5mil was an overpay. Can the Oilers afford a huge overpay right now?
Everyone who re signed took less to stay. Holloway and Broberg both signed sheets for more than they are worth, both want out. Let them go. Don't do KLowe/Chia and overpay for nothing and send Oilers back to the darkness. I know mactavish and Tambellini were there too, but even I could tell Lowe was behind every dumb ass move they made.
I seem to be the minority here but I love Holloways game , cant imagine letting him go and watching him thrive for the next 10 years over keeping Corey Perry .. what a mistake this will be !!!
It doesn't matter if you match both, because you still won't have space for the big fish. Kane won't be out all year. You guys are fighting so hard for a guy in Broberg who doesn't even want to be there.
Horrible take. Correction, 8 months ago he didn’t want to be there. Playoffs changed everyone’s opinions. If it was so easy to find a top 4 Dman that would be the main option but it isn’t so u over pay and gamble on a guy that has incredible upside essentially
They're not going anywhere. What is it that you still don't understand? They both have no movement clause. You can't trade them without their permission, and they both won't waive it. As long as Mcdavid is on the team, both players are not going anywhere. Period
Great show as always
they will pass on both! Don't see the trades as a path to match the offers for Broberg and Holloway

are you Stuart Skinner's brother? You look the same

None of this solves next years cap issues if you match both. It’s cup or bust next year.
@@patskers1Kulak gone next year, Kane Gone, Neal off the books, year closer to nurse deal expiring, could trade him.
Haters😂😂
@@gabrielleinweber1763 they could get moved but aren’t kulak and Kane signed thru 25-26?
I think the Oilers let both players go. If they need to fill a hole in defence or offense they'll do it later
I think you should go away 😅😅
@@iamtheboredlife9915 I think your stupid
Maybe the Oilers match both, but put Holloway on waivers for SJ's sweetener.
Kaine and Nurse for Laine saves a ton of money.
Lol your hate for nurse is unfounded. Who replaces him go on and explain go???

Edmonton is probably not on Laine's No Trade list. Feel free to explain to me how the rest of this works.
@@iamtheboredlife9915 who said I hate nurse. Anyway that contract is what is hurting the oilers and if I was to blame someone it would be holland.
I say kick them both to the curb for those prices. Don't want to play for the Oilers after that run... see ya. 🦵 use the assets to upgrade.
