Want to know where to find this for my 2013 Kia Rio.. Or wondering if this could be retrofitted... Really want the app for my phone, remote start via keyfob.. and push button start.
I think you guys are the best at reviewing cars that most people can actually afford with the occasional ones that on 0.02%'ers drive. I love every single video. I still want a Raptor (Why would you guys do that to me? I thought I was done with trucks).
Kia Rio Cup ! Boost ! Kia Rio Turbo would be great. For a subcompact, this car doesn't look small inside at all. You guys don't look all cramped or anything. I'm sold !
PJ87 kia is going to come up with the Rio GT with the 200 hp 1.6 turbo or they might use the 1.4 kappa turbo and bump up hp to 170 and 20p ft lbs of torque
Good review as usual. Somehow Canada lucked out this time. In the U.S. the Rio gets somewhat de-contented for the '18. That's no LED lights front & back, no 17" premium wheels and leather only comes in launch edition (limited amount). Anyways the curveball is the new Accent gets an automatic trunk, LED's, 17's, auto braking and blue link. When the Rio & Accent show up here in October and November I'm definitely going to test drive both. I agree with the comment on the base selling a lot! LX Rio's are $13,990.00 MSRP here and the out-the-door price will inevitably be a good deal. I'm not against the base cars even lacking cruise, etc. The reviews from all over the world have been solid. It's hard to believe it sold 400,000 world wide last year.
The fact they exclude CC from the base model with the manual bugs me! I’d love one of these with a stick, but I use cruise 95% of the time on freeways to avoid speeding. Which one is more important? 🤔
I bought a 2015 Sonata a few months ago with the telematic feature. I didn’t know it had it but I’m glad it does it comes in handy when you want to start the car before entering a winter or summer environment. I love it.
Great informational video on the 2018 Kia Rio, guys. I learned a lot about the offering from Kia in a bit over 14 minutes. You covered anything I could think of to ask!
Evan J they want to include uvo in top trim BUT you can't remote start a stick shift. That's probably the easiest solution... to not have stick in UVO trims
StraightPipes... Im a little suprised at your comment. You can indeed remote start a manual. In fact we have it on our 2017 6spd Tacoma and I also had one installed on my 08 Wrangler.
Only recently started watching you guys a couple of months ago. Really like your videos. i do a visor test on everyone of my friends cars i get in now. Good luck with the channel guys all the way from rainy england. Please come to England!
TheStraightPipes wow! I'm surprised a big channel like you would reply. And that quick too! I shall be spreading word as far and fast about straight pipes. They are (as Jakob puts it) SO GOOD!
You guys always getting me with that hand brake. While driving and you start talking about handbrake and then you pulled that handbrake 12:50 and I start freaking out 😲"are you crazy "😲😲😲 and second later OK IT'S ALL GOOD.😓 😥😐
Yuri: "This thing would be amazing if it was turbo"...we are talking about the Elantra GT sport wagon right? What ever happened to that review, I've been waiting for it. Also, keep up the good work guys...the cgi body kit was especially slick.
The fact that UVO takes a bit of time to do what it does is a surprise but I appreciate the ability to adjust the heater etc with it rather than having to remember to set it before you park for the night.
Dude, mind blown! And to think I bought my actual car in a Kia dealership and only ever glanced at this Kia, because I was looking at a diesel Peugeot. Had I known I would've bought this Kia or even consider it very strongly. This uvo feature is fucking amazing!
I got a brand new kia in 2013 I wasn't expecting mutch,,,but such a great little car i have 71.000 milles on it . and i change the oil only 6 times since i got it..really great car..also my rio is 8 hp stronger than this 1 the new one.
I drive quite a lot. I bought my 2018 Kia Rio LX (the base) hatchback in August of 2017. 2 years and 80,000 miles later (yes, that's not a typo), and I haven't had to do a single thing except oil changes at the local Kia dealership. The stock Continental tires still have about 7,000 to 8,000 miles of tread life left, and I still have 4 mm's left on the front brake pads. Key things to note for long-term maintenance costs. Single torsion beam rear suspension (meaning you can probably put 200k on the car and not replace a single thing in the rear suspension), lifetime timing chain...really the only things you'll be doing in the first 150,000 miles are the spark plugs at 120k, and the transmission fluid flush at 150k (this is what Kia recommends). Everything else will be just oil changes, tires and brake pads. They're basically designed to be super low cost, long-term reliable cars. Some KIA dealerships in the US now offer a whopping 10 year, 200,000 mile powertrain warranty, so shop around. Finally...if you need that extra oomph in acceleration, just kick it into sport mode. Gets your 0-60 time down to around 7.5 seconds, maybe closer to 7 if you kick it into manual mode and shift the gears yourself with sport mode engaged...really, not bad for a budget car. You won't be blowing anyone away, but sport mode will get you onto the freeway more than adequately.
These days, no one actually buys stick shift cars to save money, they buy them because they WANT the driving involvement. Car companies should stop offering manual transmission in the base trim, but offer them in the top trim and charge for them because the enthusiasts would actually pay money to drive a stick.
For me I dont really see the appeal.... Its cool I guess but things like remote start and climate control are taken care of in my 16 civic. It has remote start and it turns on the heater or a/c depending on the temp
I guess... think about if you're leaving work in winter and you want to warm up your car, but it's outside of your keys range. Because you park so far away. Because that's life. OR If you're on vacation in winter. And you run your car from wherever you are so it doesn't look like nobody's home. Scare away potential burglars.
that's true I can see it working for some people but since I don't live in like a big city or the country side or anything it doesn't really apply to me
Yo boys, request from your #1 fanboy. Can you try and get your hands on the "SUPER DUPER FAST" 2018 Camry? If possible the "crazy" 300hp one? I wanna know if its even close to what the commercials are pretending it is. kk thnx much love
Didn't hear a comment on how the torsion beam rear suspension behaves on bumps? Does the rear end giggle whenever one side of he car hits a bump that the other side of the cat does not hit?
Nothing bad about the car, but I'm done buying Kia/Hyundai because of my crappy experience at the damn dealership. I wish all cars could be sold like Teslas where there is no middleman to ruin the experience of buying a car.
Oh man, hard to say since it's such a depressing class. Probably the Fiesta ST. But I mean this class is bought by people who want to get from A to B for the least amount of $$. So design, performance, driving pleasure all come secondary.
You guys didn't drive a base though. It was the top level trim which I'm sure will be in the $25K range. The Fiesta ST starts at $23 800 so its a very fair comparison. Either way the exterior design does not look 2018. It has no modern or innovative design features. Maybe the LED headlight accents, but even that's 2008. This looks like a 2012 model. According to my automotive design degree haha :)
You guys out there are so lucky! KIA only give us sunroof here, Don't say about ABS, TC, leather, soft panel, or smartphone control thing. Yes, I live in third world country
Just as a bonus, Alex in Germany had a beer in hand while remote starting the Rio.
+PJ87 he had to prove he was in Germany
Want to know where to find this for my 2013 Kia Rio..
Or wondering if this could be retrofitted... Really want the app for my phone, remote start via keyfob.. and push button start.
Not just any beer - looked liked Augustiner Helles. The beer of beers.
I think you guys are the best at reviewing cars that most people can actually afford with the occasional ones that on 0.02%'ers drive. I love every single video. I still want a Raptor (Why would you guys do that to me? I thought I was done with trucks).
+Evan J haha thanks man. I want a Raptor too
I live in the uk. Narrow roads. Ever owned a truck and they’ve made ME want a Raptor. 😳
Purchased a Rio in the US largely based on this review. Really happy with it.
Great review guys! You two are the most interesting automotive journalists out there. I'm glad that you are making longer videos now. Keep it up!
+Andrew Schuld thanks! Glad you like it. Share the videos :)
That lip kit graphic looked good
No, soo good :D
#SG
Kia Rio Cup ! Boost ! Kia Rio Turbo would be great. For a subcompact, this car doesn't look small inside at all. You guys don't look all cramped or anything. I'm sold !
+PJ87 exactly
PJ87 kia is going to come up with the Rio GT with the 200 hp 1.6 turbo or they might use the 1.4 kappa turbo and bump up hp to 170 and 20p ft lbs of torque
Been watching a fair share of car reviews and you guys are by far the most enjoyable to watch 👍🏽
+KaiDub24 thanks!
gotta love a hatchback
Standard Heated Front Seats & Steering Wheel in Canada? I’m jealous.. #USA
Seriously watching all their reviews where heated steering wheels come in so many cars is making me so jealous :(
That's because the states are one big desert. (sarcasm)
Good review as usual. Somehow Canada lucked out this time. In the U.S. the Rio gets somewhat de-contented for the '18. That's no LED lights front & back, no 17" premium wheels and leather only comes in launch edition (limited amount). I'm not against the base cars even lacking cruise, etc. The reviews from all over the world have been solid. It's hard to believe it sold 400,000 world wide last year.
+A Motorist oh wow, it's always funny hearing the packaging differences between Canada and US
The fact they exclude CC from the base model with the manual bugs me! I’d love one of these with a stick, but I use cruise 95% of the time on freeways to avoid speeding. Which one is more important? 🤔
@@bigbean78 same boat. I'd love a manual US spec with cruise control and heated seats. Just not in the cards, I guess.
I bought a 2015 Sonata a few months ago with the telematic feature. I didn’t know it had it but I’m glad it does it comes in handy when you want to start the car before entering a winter or summer environment. I love it.
Viewer, fan, follower from the Philippines 🇵 🇭 nice vid
+Christian Bartolome thanks!
Great informational video on the 2018 Kia Rio, guys. I learned a lot about the offering from Kia in a bit over 14 minutes. You covered anything I could think of to ask!
Side note: How many people would GLADLY pay top trim levels if you could be driving a manual? Why can't auto manufacturers figure this out?
Evan J they want to include uvo in top trim BUT you can't remote start a stick shift. That's probably the easiest solution... to not have stick in UVO trims
Not many people go for it. But apparently the Forte with the turbo has a manual.
StraightPipes... Im a little suprised at your comment. You can indeed remote start a manual. In fact we have it on our 2017 6spd Tacoma and I also had one installed on my 08 Wrangler.
+JeremyHartson2000 not from factory
TheStraightPipes yes you can. As long as its in neutral you can remote start a manual
You guys are great. Never watched a review on a Rio before.
Why am i only learning now about this channel? these guys are awesome!
+m4tic 101 thanks! Make sure you hit that notification bell ;)
Only recently started watching you guys a couple of months ago. Really like your videos. i do a visor test on everyone of my friends cars i get in now. Good luck with the channel guys all the way from rainy england. Please come to England!
+Brendan White on right on bud! Thanks
TheStraightPipes wow! I'm surprised a big channel like you would reply. And that quick too! I shall be spreading word as far and fast about straight pipes. They are (as Jakob puts it) SO GOOD!
+Brendan White thanks! We're not very big. We've always tried to reply as much as we can
Well that pretty much convinced me. Great car - thanks guys!
+Brian Potstra awesome, no problem
I bought an EX, I love it
You guys always getting me with that hand brake.
While driving and you start talking about handbrake and then you pulled that handbrake 12:50 and I start freaking out 😲"are you crazy "😲😲😲 and second later OK IT'S ALL GOOD.😓 😥😐
Kia's content/$$ always impresses me. Cant wait to test drive the Stinger
I like what you did to the car at 11:05
+Putu Putrasta Yuri's vision
Putu Putrasta so fast. So furious
Best subcompact car ! Cheap! Save gas and reliable! Great deal
Yuri: "This thing would be amazing if it was turbo"...we are talking about the Elantra GT sport wagon right? What ever happened to that review, I've been waiting for it. Also, keep up the good work guys...the cgi body kit was especially slick.
+Trauma Dynamics it'll come. Bigger car though
The fact that UVO takes a bit of time to do what it does is a surprise but I appreciate the ability to adjust the heater etc with it rather than having to remember to set it before you park for the night.
Thanks to you guys I bought one here in Mexico, great review!!
+Charly Barajas awesome! Enjoy
Cool to see these features coming to cheaper cars! Great video!
+MrLolzania thanks! Yeah it'll be on every new Kia going forward
i think available on every kia, not ON every kia
+Yuri Tereshyn yes
Yuri Tereshyn going forward it will be standard on every kia car
Not gonna lie- clicked because Google Pixel. Subbed.
+J Chase haha awesome
The Canadian version gets projectors headlights and LED daytime running lights...no fair.
kia is going to rule the world!
Seems the USA version of the Kia Rio doesn't offer the U shaped LED headlights, 17 inch rims, and moon roof...
Hope you guys review the GT Stinger aha !!!!
+InfamousDood we will, they just need to release it! ;)
CANT WAIT!
Hello! I'm tuning in from Washington, D.C!
Did Kia help you out with the footage & effects at 11:10 or did you do them yourselves?
+Jason B no, everything you see on our channel is done by us
Ah nice. It looks pretty well done.
+Jason B thanks
You guys are my favorite Chanel
+Paris Brown thanks!
Damn Kia and Hyundai, you are both on fire!!!!
The intro music is actually pretty good
10:33 How do the RDL turns off when you turn the signal on?? do this option is avaialble to all the models with an LED front lights??
That looks like an extremely fun car to have. But damn that body kit graphic. Really cool. Great review as always. : )
I would get this over the Mercedes E43 AMG ANYDAY! Girls love the KIA ;)
You guys are great. I enjoy your friendly vibes. One question: what technique did you use for adding the bumper at 11:15? Thanks
Sweet reveiw guys !
Dude, mind blown! And to think I bought my actual car in a Kia dealership and only ever glanced at this Kia, because I was looking at a diesel Peugeot. Had I known I would've bought this Kia or even consider it very strongly. This uvo feature is fucking amazing!
+Pedro Rafael Reyes Quezada haha crazy! Yeah give them a look next time
I got a brand new kia in 2013
I wasn't expecting mutch,,,but such a great little car i have 71.000 milles on it . and i change the oil only 6 times since i got it..really great car..also my rio is 8 hp stronger than this 1 the new one.
Nice editing - like always! Like the body kit lol
fog lights are the must, I'm on this with Jakub 👍
0:40 That's what she said 😀
Or he said?
that's what he said! you know cuz of gay
DavidTVBox ! I
Oh man, will buy this 2018 year! Which engine is the best for fun and fuel economy, I prefer gasoline?
Best looking subcompact you can get in the US right now IMO. If the base had cruise even as an option that would be #sg too.
The 2015 Chevrolet Sonic RS has telematics system where you can unlock and remote start it with your phone
how reliable are Kia's again? I've had nothing but Toyotas but this seems a lot sweeter deal.
+Miguel Angel Medina Rise they're supposed to be pretty reliable now
I drive quite a lot. Shame on you tube for airing ads during/interrupting the videos. Annoying!
Omg I love your car review keep doing it you and Yuri are the car reviewer👍👍👍👍👍👍😄
Hyundai does not owns KIA but both the companies belong to the same country and have most of thier cars based on the same platform underneath
Chevy Sonic with Onstar has that kind of controling stuff since 2011.
You two are the best.
+Nineunbuffed thanks! You're the best
Nineunbuffed ❤️
Lift kit sick at 11:04
My dad has a 2016 Rio SX Navi, they took away the power folding mirrors and I don’t like that they dropped the SX name.
Like Hyundai's Bluelink, glad Kia is getting the tech.
These days, no one actually buys stick shift cars to save money, they buy them because they WANT the driving involvement. Car companies should stop offering manual transmission in the base trim, but offer them in the top trim and charge for them because the enthusiasts would actually pay money to drive a stick.
+Terry C good point
I also wonder how the "economies of scale" make the automatics sooo much more expensive than the manuals?
looks like it has more space then my Mini
+Gary Matthews only one way to find out
BOX TEST! ;)
Cool little hatches....is it the same size as a Chevy Sonic? I've seen some tastefully modded Sonic hatches where I live lately.
+Marlene K. Yeah it's in the Spark / Sonic ballpark sub compacts
A 1.0 turbo version with 100 or 120 bhp exist for the EU market!!!
For me I dont really see the appeal.... Its cool I guess but things like remote start and climate control are taken care of in my 16 civic. It has remote start and it turns on the heater or a/c depending on the temp

+Sang yim it can find your car and a bunch of other maintenance stuff too
I mean same with mine though lol with the honda link app i can find the location and look up maintenance info
that's true I can see it working for some people but since I don't live in like a big city or the country side or anything it doesn't really apply to me
Sang yim I love this feature. It means I can remotely turn on the car to get the AC running and step out in 2 minutes to a warmed up and cooledd car.
Yo boys, request from your #1 fanboy.
Can you try and get your hands on the "SUPER DUPER FAST" 2018 Camry? If possible the "crazy" 300hp one? I wanna know if its even close to what the commercials are pretending it is.
kk thnx
much love
NYcookiedemon message toyotacanada on twitter and Facebook and ask them to give us one! I'll take it for a spin
+NYcookiedemon we requested toyota cars, waiting to hear back
I just did! Fingers crossed :) twitter.com/NYcookiedemon/status/907980404744998915
Oh and sweet edit on the hot hatch rio :D
+NYcookiedemon haha you're the man
NYcookiedemon its not that fast. 5.8 secondsl to 60. I traded in my 200S awd chrysler it was 5.6 0-60 and was heavier with 295 hp.
Hi from a Super Fan.. Awesome vids.. Slowly watching all of ur vids
+Yathu prem hi! Thanks :)
In my country, we only receive rio with 100hp and 4 speed auto. The rest is really good
My 2012 Chevy Sonic can do all the things the UVO can besides the climate control since those are physical dials rather than digital
Liking this car already, nice
10:19 🎵 Highway to the danger-zone! 🎵
My cruze does it in like 5 seconds. So does my mazda. It's normal tech for new cars.
Hope you guys get a chance to drive the Kia Rio GT Line.
Running foglights into oncoming traffic may be illegal. Check your the laws in your area.
Didn't hear a comment on how the torsion beam rear suspension behaves on bumps? Does the rear end giggle whenever one side of he car hits a bump that the other side of the cat does not hit?
Damn, standard heated seats, steering wheel, and reversing camera? Thats a good amount of a standard kit for a budget city car.
"What do we get in this top trim SX tech that we don't get in the base? Everything. Okay... like, what else??"
+Nouvellecosse ;)
Shark racing.com will have a turbo kit available for the 2018 Rio/Accent this spring
+Dragon-cat Motorsports crazy
I think i might trade in my Hyundai Elantra....yup, i just might do that.
LabMediaCompany for an sti
+LabMediaCompany haha those standard features win you over?
It is true everyone here in Quebec has a Hyundai Accent Yaris or a Kia Rio
"Such a city city city car" saw what you did there....
We love subcompacts because we are too piss poor to buy anything bigger after paying 20 different kinds of tax. :(
but if someone find out your cars pin code, maybe he can misuse this technology by turning on the car and etc?
wondering when they started working for Kia.
I have a 2015 rio sedan base, 9100$ +tax n delivery , it's stick I like it
Nothing bad about the car, but I'm done buying Kia/Hyundai because of my crappy experience at the damn dealership. I wish all cars could be sold like Teslas where there is no middleman to ruin the experience of buying a car.
Geo Layug :-(. What was your experience.
This is a 2018? Did they fire all their exterior designers so they could hire app programmers?
+TheVladooo what do you think is the best looking car in this class?
Oh man, hard to say since it's such a depressing class. Probably the Fiesta ST.
But I mean this class is bought by people who want to get from A to B for the least amount of $$. So design, performance, driving pleasure all come secondary.
+TheVladooo exactly. That's why I think this is the best looking one. Fiesta St is better but it's not exactly fair. Fiesta base vs Rio, this wins
+TheVladooo no we drove a base, watch the manual part that was a base model. We looked at every model that day
Nice watch 👍 Seiko SKX007
Thanks
North American Rios get a 1.6L engine & 6-A/T while we're still stuck with the 1.4L & 4-speed A/T at the top trim. :( Talk about shortchanging.
+JironM oh damn
Do they have a 3 doors version? HOT HATCH
love u guys
I have the 2016 rio 5 . fun car when you mod it up a bit, just be weiry of the warranty. kia will do everything to deny a claim
You guys out there are so lucky! KIA only give us sunroof here, Don't say about ABS, TC, leather, soft panel, or smartphone control thing. Yes, I live in third world country
Sunroof, which not so many people use here. Because of harsh weather and pollution
+Rio Rio Abdullah yes there are model differences everywhere. Even the US one is different from our Canadian one
wow UVO!Remote start from Germany?
nice SEIKO 3:42
Does come with lumbar support?
Cool lip kit effect!
Can you test the Rio GT? :)
I like the design of the Rio, but just not enough power for me
Can I get it on my Kia Rio 2018 S
BRO YURI IS DEFINITELY MAKING JAKE PAUL JOKES. Cmon DAB On the autos
Avi dab dab dab
we get the turbo in denmark but it's only 100hp :(
Michael Bagger you drive bicycles anyway
brothers voice is the same
