The trouble is, getting tossed into deep water doesn't kill you in that game. They'd get teleported back to land after taking a chunk of damage. So it doesn't really work for "Will It Kill?" They'd have to change the question to "Will it reach the water?" which is less compelling. Still a very funny clip though, that alley-oop chain grab was pretty good.

Usually, I do not know much about the second half. When I saw Labrys red axe round start 2B fatal counter, I immediately cringed so hard. Kanji was dead as dirt.
Josuke's stand is fucking sick cause it's just a way to have Star Platinum again but allow for more creativity for fights. Josuke being able to heal means he can do wild shit like ignore hostage situations by punching through the hostage, punch the bad guy in the face, then pull out and heal the hostage. The healing applies to inanimate objects too, if a wall is destroyed, Josuke can heal the wall and rearrange it into something else. It's so cool. Part 3 does have Jotaro get more creative in fights later on. Particularly once he gets to Egypt and runs into Stand Users who don't give a fuck that his stand is level 99.
josuke deserved another part as a character; I would kill to see what an adult josuke could do after he turned his short range attack stand into poor man’s moody blues/sex pistols. Him pushing the boundaries of what he can “fix” in a way that can kill Kira and protect hayato is fire
It's a hot take because part 3 is so iconic and popular but it really can be a slog and sort of just a boring star platinum stat check for a lot of it. Most of the best parts of it are from other characters besides Jotaro even. I feel like all the parts after that either hit really hard for you or are at least interesting in how they do stuff. I think one of the hardest parts for Stardust Crusaders is just that it comes after part 2 in general because when I knew nothing about JoJo at all and started at part 1 it was neat and like okay, then part 2 was just that distilled and made way better with its pacing and creativity. Then part 3 comes out and at the time it was like sort of advancing the standard of the time from when it originally was published in the manga but damn its suffering from success. It's like going back and playing Chrono Trigger and saying that it's derivative because everything after was influenced by it. TLDR: Part 3 is overrated critically because of what it is and was culturally

I'm very glad that Sajam has correct opinions about Jojo's Part 3... but I also don't think he realizes he's literally the meme of the miner giving up before reaching diamonds (pun not intended but appreciated). The series improvies dramatically the literal moment they step foot in Egypt. A lot of the fights in the latter half of Part 3 either aren't trivialized by Jotaro (because he's not involved or the enemy stand stops him) or requires a lot of effort for Jotaro to actually land the hit he needs to win. About Idol Showdown characters getting to try fighting games, Botan's SF6 tournament runs are kinda special if you know her general sense and attitude of a calm and relaxed pro gamer who's generally unflappable. The journey she had in SF6 genuinely made me tear up.

The surrealism of the ape fight helps people through it, but if that drove Sajam off, I'm afraid the worst is yet to come - and the best, because Jotaro eventually has one of the all-time greatest JoJo fights. Part 3 has rotating good and bad fights that show Part 2 qualities in spurts before Part 4 locks them in.
It really is unfortunate that Sajam dropped Jojo Part 3 at the point he did because while is he right that a lot of Jotaro's fights get solved by Star Platinum just being built different, it's only after in the Egypt Arc that Jotaro's fights start getting interesting instead of just diffing other stands. Cuz if liked Josuke's super, buy is there a lot of cool stuff in Part 4 and beyond.
Part 3 is a very polarising chapter in the community due to the long pacing and the villain-of-the-week episode structure. The appeal of the 1st half is experiencing all the different cultures in the east, but it can get very formulaic. I actually skipped to the mansion in Egypt episodes after the 1st half during my first watch. The nice thing though is that every main character gets a spotlight episode after the boat episode, so Jotaro isn't always hogging the glory. I'd say things get more creative (and funnier) during the 2nd half. With the D'arby episodes and the finale being a big highlight of the part. I hope he does get to Part 4 though. It's my favorite JoJo part outside of Steel Ball Run (Part 7).

The Beatrix nerfs actually weren't that bad, she's still strong. She got her damage toned down a bit and had her 22M (aka Stroke the Big Tree) go from plus on block to safe, and a couple of less important nerfs (22U went from safe to barely punishable on block, 22H got slightly more punishable than it already was). Mostly it means 22M no longer starts/extends pressure for her; everything else she does is basically the same.
That kemofre fight clip is really strange. I voted no, because the game uses a launcher system that's kinda like the TACs in UMVC3 where you can break them by guessing the direction you're about to be launched, but if you don't it lets you infinitely extend combos- and I didn't believe there'd be a true, launcherless combo that could ToD. There was a few launchers used, so there was opportunities to break out, but it also didn't kill anyways so no harm no foul i guess?
I'm the dev for Terrordrome : Reign of the Legends, Spring Heeled Jack just didn't break the combo he has full break meter and didn't break. NOW if it was a hit from a PUNISH then yea it's a TOD. The Beatrix nerfs actually weren't that bad, she's still strong. She got her damage toned down a bit and had her 22M (aka Stroke the Big Tree) go from plus on block to safe, and a couple of less important nerfs (22U went from safe to barely punishable on block, 22H got slightly more punishable than it already was). Mostly it means 22M no longer starts/extends pressure for her; everything else she does is basically the same.

I voted no, because the game uses a launcher system that's kinda like the TACs in UMVC3 where you can break them by guessing the direction you're about to be launched, but if you don't it lets you infinitely extend combos- and I didn't believe there'd be a true, launcherless combo that could ToD.
There was a few launchers used, so there was opportunities to break out, but it also didn't kill anyways so no harm no foul i guess?

I'm the dev for Terrordrome : Reign of the Legends, Spring Heeled Jack just didn't break the combo he has full break meter and didn't break. NOW if it was a hit from a PUNISH then yea it's a TOD. This games whole gameplay revolves around being SCARED to hit a button, if your PUNISH you could die.
