Hi everyone. What a beautiful bed! After watching your video and reading the other comments I am now ready to build the top of the bed. Do you also have the measures of the feet and frame. My eyes measure ca 5cm x 3cm for the pieces of the feet and 6cm x 1cm for the pieces of the frame. Am I right? What wood can you recommend? If anyone has produced a construction sheet and is willing to share, I would be super happy. Regards, Tippi

Hey good job! I m thinking to buy one Toyota Yaris verso 2003 model with 185.000 km what your opinion? Those car can handle easy 300000 km and more?
Hi there! Our had 186.000 when we bought it and after changing engine oil, gearbox oil, coolant and air filter we did a trip of 3500 km. No issues at all during the trip, however, in a very mountainous area (we were driving through the Alps) the engine proved to be a bit weak, although this was to be expected as we have 1.3 (84 hp) 😅 After returning from our trip, we also changed the power steering fluid. If the car is well-maintained and the engine oil is changed every 10.000 km, I think it will easily reach the mileage you mentioned, and even more. Good luck!
I bought mine at 200.000 K and it is now at nearly 300.000 K, no real issues for now :). However get the 1,5L version if you can, because when the car is really charged 1,3 L might be a bit weak...
This engine can easily push 500 000km. Mine is around 400 000km, still going strong.

Hi i lover this and im thinking of trying to make this myself but only a single person version. What size did you make the piece of wood at the top by the front seats? I'm really short so I'm trying to work out if i need it to be as long as your one is.

The part you are asking about is 40 cm long (middle one is 80 and bottom one 60) and it's foldable.
As you may have noticed bigger pieces are cut in two so we could easily put them into the car and mount them on the rack.
So without this foldable top part our "bed" is 140cm, however, if you consider making a bed that is just as wide as ours (120cm) you can always lie on it diagonally. Just to mention, our rack's total dimensions are 140x100 (I mean without the top made of the 12 mm OSB).
On the other hand, if you intend to travel alone, we believe that the best idea might be to make the bed narrower but longer, as you can pull out the front passenger seat. Thanks to this, in the other part of the car you can set up larger things, and also just sit there, e.g. in case of rainy weather. Then the bed can be used as a table. That would be awesome! 😁
Also, we recommend folding mattress - it's very convenient (and ours are supercomfortable, better than our bed at home 😂).

Hi, sure! The construction is 180x120 cm, but, as you can see on the video, one piece is foldable. And the "bed" is approx. 48 cm high. If you wish, I can check exact measures of each part, just please message me and I'll let you know :)

Manchmal findet man solche Matratzen auf Aktionsangeboten in Geschäften wie Lidl oder Aldi.
