Almighty Garden DISASTER Transformed for a Homeowner in NEED!

  • Believe it or not, there is a house under all of this mess. Watch me transform another almighty garden disaster from a jungle into an easily maintained yard. This one is a continuation of a job I started a couple of episodes ago out the front of the property (link below). As you can see, the ivy and vines are really taking over the side of the property, and it's probably worse than it was out the front. The owner offered to pay me for this job, but told him too just cover the tip fees. All of the labour and a trip to the landfill was about 7 - 8 hours worth of work done for free. Now, I know some of you are going to say, why didn't you do the whole job for free! Well, the simple answer is simple - I need to pay the bills. My channel is small, and I don't get millions of views like some of the bigger channels, allowing me to do all free jobs. Having said that, this channel does have the potential to do all free jobs and I would love to grow into that type of content. A big thank you to all of my members, subscribers, and also regular viewers (but you should subscribe if you haven't already 🙂). This is part 2 of 3.

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
    Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
    Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
    Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
    1. Currently, I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k on a good ride on mower.
    2. I don't have anywhere to store it.
    3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on in there.
    4. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering we always take the green waste away.
    5. I will get one as soon as all of the above are solved.

We can totally understand, how yard work gets away from you and before you know it, cleaning it up, is so overwhelming, you just leave it and eventually learn to live with it. All it takes, is two years of hardship, of health problems, of raising children, or just simply old age and in a climate like that, nature takes over. That's when people should lend a hand and that's why we love these videos. We would love to see some of these properties a few weeks later, when everything has settled

Great job again George. One trick I use around beer cellar heat dumps is to find the ivy main route and cut 10cm out of each stem. Leave it a couple of weeks and the runners wither and lose grip. Makes it easier to remove them. Just saves time, but I’ll wager you knew that 😂

I'm sitting here SMH while you're working so hard, which you always do. Excellent job, as you always do. I subscribe to several yard/lawn channels and I want to make an observation having nothing to do with anything but my own opinion...if yards aren't tended, vines would take over the world. So far, every geographical area with grass cutters shows vines of some kind or another being cut back under control. There probably isn't much vine control needed in Antarctica, but the rest of the world...yep. Great job, George, interesting content. Can't wait for Part 3.

Damn Ivy, I'm sneezing at the moment just watching..... we have one here in southeastern Texas, we call it tangleweed, a variety of Virginia Creeper I believe, has a hell of a noxious juice in it similar to a succulent. You have to be cautious with a weed trimmer. The vapor that flies will nearly kill you if you happen to be allergic. Floored my brother recently when we were clearing the wild parts of the ranch.

Rather crowded pathway leading to an entrance. I would feel suffocated. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I would love a house with that ramp! Unless this area is sprayed heavily with some type of weed killer won't all those vines grew back??
