Have you ever used the Avenza maps for a mobile device that is offered? I use it were we live just wondering if the cell service is good enough for the use of these in the Hills. It does work good for us if we have good service.

I've never used the Avenza maps, but I understand that they do work in the hills even if you are out range for cell service because they use the phone's GPS features. Cell service tends to be spotty in the hills ... for instance forget about it if you are in a canyon. That said, you can usually get cell service by moving to higher ground such as a hilltop or peak.
