Hey! Great vid, unfortunately I had to learn a lot of these lessons the hard way, but they are important lessons nonetheless.
One note - unless it’s changed in the last 6 months or so, TCGplayer takes their 13% fee out of the shipping cost as well as the principal listing price. So the correct workbook layout would actually be “sell price” then “shipping price” then factor in “13% TCGplayer fee”.
I used to list every card I got until I realized there were orders for small value cards where I was actually taking home less than the $0.55 stamp cost. No bueno. Hope this helps so others don’t waste time on loss listings like I did

You can always save your searches on ebay to. There are also websites you can use to do auto searches, set parameters like price point, auctions, buy it now, how often/what time do do the searches and you can get emails (and texts for VERY good cards/offers) whenever new items are listed that fit your parameters. Then you could just check your email each morning.

I havent really sold much, more so trying to accumulate. But then again this was more so from the perspective of buying to sell or people with the goal to sell? Super insightful and will come back to it when I trying to get rid of things I have !

I was gonna sell my collection for 650 to start investing in a buissiness but I organized my whole collection and put good margins together. I’m gonna sell my collection for 700 but be way more confident in it selling fast because of what’s in it

Would you say that it is worth to even invest in like cards that are around the 100 to 150 in popularity. It would be a lot more work to look for so many cards but still a steal could be a good deal.

Is that 50 cent margin worth going through all of the trouble to photograph, research, package, and drive to the post office? and then, having to do it a thousand times a week is a lot of work to just barely make $500
Takes money to make money. Takes work to make money. You're also probably selling cards that a lot of people have.. $500 profit is $500 profit. You're most likely gonna make a loss on cards, unless you put in the work to sell them. And some cards will give you better margins so overall it'll balance out.

Does anyone know how to source sealed product? I am collecting sealed blisters and all the early XY ones don’t appear on any of the usual places like ebay, Amazon, Troll & Toad, etc. I have begun joining forums but any other thoughts would be much appreciated!

I’m starting up my tcgplayer account as a seller and am curious... lots of people say it’s not worth it to sell bulk cards on there but wouldn’t I technically make more than the .03 cents that I would get sending them in? As long as my shipping is at least .99c. I keep doing the math and even after fees I would profit more than 3c I would get for bulk price. Not worth it to some people but it’s fun for me and all those pennies do add up. Just curious of what your thoughts are on this. Hopefully you see my comment, love your videos man!
Made like 20 sales thru tcg close to 200 dollars in cards, they never sent me 1 dollar of it.

Can't agree with the "you lose money when you open the box" bc that doesn't really apply to champions path ETB.. the promo card alone goes for 200-400 psa 9 or 10
he is talking in general form a buisness owners point of view of what is profitable and not. And because one box or set has an expensive card in it cant really be used as an valid point against that statement i hope you understand that.
How do you deal with the hundreds of cards coming in though? Do you get them shipped to PO box?

I always add tracking and it costs me a lot more... I then have to add that price to the buying price...because Ebay doesn't protect me if it gets lost. And I can't sell on TCG Player because I'm in Canada...it sucks

there are full class videos on TH-cam from colleges all over that teach classes on excel. All my classes from University at Buffalo are on there i think

Please keep in mind, Mercari is a buyers app. Sellers have a 10%fee as well as another 3% selling fee... if you make a 100 dollar sale they are taking roughly 13 dollars.. if you offer free shipping, that is another 4 dollars minimum. It can eat into your profits over time for sure

I just sell all mine as lots on my eBay, takes too much time for me to sell them individually I’ll break the prices down for each card then put a bulk deal on them ! I’ve sold 1st editions/base set/ Neo & More ! Still have some of them up as well
