That's probably one of the best twists in horror movies, since the beginning of the movie it's pratically stamped that Billy is the Ghostface killer, he's weird, charming, and has a psychopath thingy that even Randy identified, but even so we have doubts and get to admit that we're wrong when the Ghostface "kills" Billy in front of Sidney, but that's because we horror movie fans never suspect that a misterious killer have a sidekick to take his place. Having there be two killers was such a good twist. Billy and Stu each seemed suspicious at different times, but then something would happen to give them an alibi or throw suspicion on someone else. Ghostface being 2 people made so much sense in hindsight. I like some of the sequels but this was the best reveal in the franchise imo.
@Avtandol Yusubov sadly I don’t think it means that. In the movie Basic Instinct Sharon stone plays a woman who spreads her bare legs in front of a group of men. This is a reference to how the mom didn’t spread her legs for them.
Stu is a lot more psychotic than Billy. He just wanted to kill people for the fun of it. He had no real motive. While Billy is a psycho he had more reasoning to kill.
I still think that Billy is worse, because he convinced Stu to believe there was no motive. A little bit after the cut off of this video clip, Billy revealed that Maureen had a hand in breaking up his parents' marriage, while Stu had a look on his face like he was genuinely surprised by new information Billy even started to take rage out on his own partner in crime
true..the scream films sadly inspired a completely unnecessary death in 2006 by 2 friends on their friend in a similar matter of pure fear as displayed in this film...its horrible they were inspired by this movie...
@@roxyfoxyyy7 yup. They were planning to actually buy ghostface outfits as well. Tried to bring scream to life. This movie already had plenty of twisted killers behind the inspiration.
Momma Mia Cassie Jo Stoddart was the girls name. She was alone, house sitting when two of her “friends” snuck in, turned the power off and murdered her. They even recorded themselves planning the murder and immediately after murder driving away from the house. Sad story. Thankfully they were caught a couple days later and the two cowards tried to blame each other. They’re serving life sentences.
+crimsontears17 That wasn't the real reason why he killed her. He explained that Sydney's mother was sleeping with his father, and that was the reason his mother abandoned him.
Andrea Sigala if u watch in scream 3 Sidneys half brother showed billy and that other guy the tapes and then they decided to all start killing I'm guessing Sidney half brother killed Tatum
Haha the guy that also plays shaggy did really good in this movie i thought. Played a young psychopath really well, very underrated performance imo. Also when billy hits him with the phone and he screams "you hit me with the phone you dick!" That wasnt scripted lol
This first Scream movie somehow feels so appropriate to have been released in the 90's. The late 90's until the early 2000's felt like the perfect era when movies depicted in the modern time were not too old or too futuristic, just right in between.
Having 2 different guys be the same killer was such a brilliant twist. Making Billy the red herring to throw people off and think he wouldn't be a killer made this reveal even better. For me, Billy and Stu are still the best killers in the Scream series.
While most people love Matthew Lillard's performance the best and understandably so, I personally think it's Skeet that actually steals the show by a long shot of everyone in this movie. Although Lillard nailed the comical parts of the movie and the unhinged detached personality of Stu, it's actually Skeet who nails it with the nuanced portrayal. He brought that quiet, seductive, mysterious charm to Billy while simultaneously brought out really cold and distraught personality of his which is exactly what most psychopaths actually possess according to studies. He brought so much subtlety to Billy's portrayal in one epic and solid performance. He really became Billy. From moments like this, to the conversation in the start, he is pretty solid as Billy with his expressions and delivery. One of the most underappreciated villainous performances in my opinion. Matthew Lillard is phenomenal no doubt, but it's Skeet that's actually playing a tougher character and bringing weight to the story.
@@melvinjoseph952 A few years before this movie was released, Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp would have been in their early thirties- as Carrey was 34 and Johnny Depp was 33 when this movie was released. Early thirties is a bit old to be playing teenagers in high school-granted,people in their late twenties and early thirties have played teenagers before(and none of the actors who played teenagers in Scream actually were teenagers at the time-they were all in their twenties but none of them were as old as Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp were at the time)
In the end, there actually was a motive. It is revealed in the seconds after this clip. Sidney's mother and Billy's father had an affair, which was the reason why Billy's mother left and "abandoned" him. In the end, Billy was a mama's boy.
Everything from the moment to the moment Sidney runs into Stu to the moment he reveals himself is brilliant just the way he looks down at her and brings the voice changer up-gave me chills the first time

Stu probably had a little psycho in him all along. Billy just helped him bring it full circle.

And also, they are the most iconic killers of the SCREAM movies
Funny enough, I had assumed Ghostface was Billy but for some reason I never suspected stu.

@Avtandol Yusubov sadly I don’t think it means that. In the movie Basic Instinct Sharon stone plays a woman who spreads her bare legs in front of a group of men. This is a reference to how the mom didn’t spread her legs for them.

FOR REAL BDJSJS
Stu is a lot more psychotic than Billy. He just wanted to kill people for the fun of it. He had no real motive. While Billy is a psycho he had more reasoning to kill.
I still think that Billy is worse, because he convinced Stu to believe there was no motive.
A little bit after the cut off of this video clip, Billy revealed that Maureen had a hand in breaking up his parents' marriage, while Stu had a look on his face like he was genuinely surprised by new information
Billy even started to take rage out on his own partner in crime
I think Stu was infatuated with Billy. I think Billy used that to get Stu to help him murder their friends.
yep! "It's more scary when there's no motive."
1:13 Look at Stu's face it was so unhinged and crazy and Billy's smile was just crazy but terrifying because of how good-looking he is.
The scene is iconic. One of the most memorable of the 90s.
: Now Sid, don't you blame the movies. Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative!
true..the scream films sadly inspired a completely unnecessary death in 2006 by 2 friends on their friend in a similar matter of pure fear as displayed in this film...its horrible they were inspired by this movie...
Asmosis Jones oh seriously? I had no idea!
@@roxyfoxyyy7 yup. They were planning to actually buy ghostface outfits as well. Tried to bring scream to life. This movie already had plenty of twisted killers behind the inspiration.
@@razkable that's insane!

@@lolz3895 It’s complicated
This first Scream movie somehow feels so appropriate to have been released in the 90's. The late 90's until the early 2000's felt like the perfect era when movies depicted in the modern time were not too old or too futuristic, just right in between.
1:16
Sidney: no!
Stu: oh where you goin?
Stu is adorable
Having 2 different guys be the same killer was such a brilliant twist.
Making Billy the red herring to throw people off and think he wouldn't be a killer made this reveal even better.
For me, Billy and Stu are still the best killers in the Scream series.
GUESS HOW IM GONNA DIE. his face and his voice are just 🤌
While most people love Matthew Lillard's performance the best and understandably so, I personally think it's Skeet that actually steals the show by a long shot of everyone in this movie.
They're both great. I love their contrast
Yes
Both are amazing ❤
Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard are Extremely Gorgeous especially Skeet!
Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp the Killers 😂
Edge from WWE
The thing is, if they'd filmed this a few years earlier, they could've probably gotten those two
Then that means Eggman & Jack Sparrow
@@melvinjoseph952 A few years before this movie was released, Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp would have been in their early thirties- as Carrey was 34 and Johnny Depp was 33 when this movie was released.
Early thirties is a bit old to be playing teenagers in high school-granted,people in their late twenties and early thirties have played teenagers before(and none of the actors who played teenagers in Scream actually were teenagers at the time-they were all in their twenties but none of them were as old as Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp were at the time)
@@JR-ju3kj fair enough
and expecting something like this to be made in the late 80s is a bit farfetched I guess
