Just a FYI the first number in ammo size is bullet diameter. Second number is the full cartridge length. Since we are looking at a mix of US cartridges, using thousands of an inch, and European metric calibers. It can get confusing for most non shooters. The .22, .30--06, .308, .338, and .50 are all US calibers. The 7.92x57mm and 7.62x54mmR calibers. By European I mean they are from Germany(7.92x57mm) and Russia(7.62x54mmR) respectively. Oh, I almost forgot to explain the one odd ball in the group. The .30-06 means its a .30 cal. bullet adopted by the US Army in 1906.
.308 is identical to 7.62x51mm NATO besides a small difference in the geometry of the casing neck. The only difference between them and 7.62x54mm is the 3mm case length, so slightly more powder. Which would be a negligible difference under 800m. .338 lapua is 8.6x70mm, it's different animal. But still a much different beast is .50BMG aka 12.7x99mm NATO 😅
just for reference...it doesn't matter what weapon you use, its about the ammo used... In damage reference... .22 cal 556x39mm 556x45mm 762x39mm .308 30-06 .338 762x54mmr 762x57mmr .50 Cal its always the projectile vs velocity vs flesh or armor penetration. the physics goes waaay more in-depth that just shooting guns.
You saw in the vid that the AWM using .338 did way more damage than 7.62x54 and 7.92x57. It is massive - 8.6mm in diameter, the game represents it accurately. Likewise 30-06 is much bigger than 7.62x54 as well but it does less damage.
Thanks for sharing your results on this testing! I believe that even your snipers that did the same damage at 200 yards will do different damages at further ranges as the different rounds maintain velocity differently. Great info here! thanks again
Unfortunately the M1 grand hit you in the neck/head so kinda botched the results of the M1 grand, but loved the video, now I know hunter 85 is useful for getting cash at the trader lol
Hi mate loved the scientific approach to the test, cheers! Very interesting how quickly leg shots can alter a pvp fight. As for even the best helmet being very underwhelming at a relatively close range? Yeah its to be expected, in all honesty from every RL ballistic test I've seen on various combat helmets, they seem to be intended for shrapnel and concussion, not direct fire. I might play around with my carbon hunter some more as 30_06 is no slouch and seems to have some crazy velocity coming outta that long barrel 😎 cheers again mate.
Eventually (hopefully) they'll update the .22 ammo in this game. Once we have proper .22LR ammo for the Hunter 85 it'll be much more useful in general PVP. The devs have mentioned in the past that the rifle (being based on the Winchester 67) is intended to shoot .22LR optimally, but the ammo we actually have in game right now has the ballistic characteristics of the much weaker .22 short/long - meaning that the Hunter 85 currently conveys 2/3rds or less of its intended on-target energy, and that at only HALF of its intended optimal range. That said, I score (easy) wilderness kills against geared/experienced players with the Hunter 85 very regularly (on purpose!), purely to conserve cash when more expensive ammo just isn't necessary. An unarmored headshot with a Hunter 85 is still an instant kill at 150-250 yards depending on target's CON, and a single leg shot inside 400 yards is still a guaranteed mobility kill; once a target is immobile, there's nearly always time to land sufficient off-armor shots on their legs/sides/neck to finish them off before they can heal/inject. I can see why there wouldn't be much reason to ever run the 85 against another player on an increased-loot server where WWII ammo and gun parts are plentiful and basically free, though.
Late answer ik, but even a "proper" .22 long rifle round would still be the weakest cartridge in the game, and only useful against players in really really dire circumstances. In most cases, a crossbow would be far more leathal than a .22 LR. So i dont see the need to make major changes to it really.... Sure, its unrealistic that you dont always die from a shot in the neck from a .22, but if its a weapon that is IRL basically not viable against a human threat, i dont see why the game shouldnt "enforce" this. Also, you have a bit of a contradiction there^^: "against geared/experienced players" , "an UNARMORED headshot is still an instant kill"..... When do geared players have no helmet on, ever?^^
Love your videos but they are very long. Can you please add some chapters or whatever they are called to organize your videos? Thank you and keep them coming!
Very informative however, arduous to glean any meaningful data based on the presentation of information. It would be nice to have a simple conclusion if only spoken at the end. IE, best performing weapon, general information relating to ammo types and comparisons clearly shown in perhaps a table let's say. I know it's more work but like, this isn't a guide it's an uncut video of you testing the weapons. (sorry if this is unfair criticism but it's da truth bro)
Well this is how I do things bud so if you want to see a chart you can always search reddit or watch other TH-camrs that just copy things from Reddit and Twitter. The video tells you a lot about each rifle and ammo and the conclusion is that the AWM is the best sniper in the game when you dont include the M82 and the Carbon Hunter is up there with the rest of them.
I love how you just assume that the carbon hunter is weaker than any other sniper rifle (Hunter85 isnt a sniper rifle), so you dont need to test headshots. When Scum has usually been very accurate regard the power of cartridges (its dependent on the cartridge, not the gun, in most cases, in real life.) And in terms of cartridge strength, 30-06 is more powerful than both .308 (AWP) and the 7.62x54r, respectively. So we actually DONT know if a headshot with those is lethal, just because a 30-06 headshot is... I mean, they ARE lethal, but the test you performed didnt conclude that accurately, you kinda lucked out a bit^^.

SVD similar as well

@@Luthais By the way i would be interested in a new video with damage-results of the new uranium-ammo (CR AP) :)

Yes I know I made a mistake with saying .308 is the length. Woukd be a very short bullet lol
@@Luthais Ironically isn't the 308 is actually shorter than the 30-06
+respect my man.
@shiugen676 A 30-06 is noticeably longer than a .308 yes.

I guess you mean *7.92x57mm* instead of _762x57mmr,_ because the last one do not exist, right? 🤔🙂

Its good for leveling up your sniping skill as well
AWP stands for Arctic Warfare Police .308 And AWM stands for Arctic Warfare Magnum.338 and or Military some say.
Thanks
Also fun fact- “lol” stands for laugh out loud! 😊
The round is also called "Lapua"
M82 is obviously the most powerful, but the AWM with the .338 Lapua is the second most powerful in the game, currently.
Correct
Nice vid, I never bothered with a stab proof vest but after seeing this….I’ll make one all the time until I can get a tactical
Yes I agree. Stabproof is very undervalued and getting one from a puppet in the police station is very easy.

What is your medical at? Will the weapons do more damage with less medical?
No damage is only related to constitution

I agree. Carbon Hunter is my sons favourite and he gets a lot of one taps on players
what about crafter bullets?
Same results more or less. 10 % less damage at most
we need DMRs
That will be cool yes
