Gerald Moore
Studio recording, London, 1-2.X.1949
Quelle voix merveilleuse ! quel sentiment de tristesse, de beauté, quelle simplicité... Et Moore au piano par-dessus le marché... le bonheur et l'émotion sont complets. Merci mille fois !
Most wonderful thing in life, to enjoy all of Mr. Hotter's master works.
Schubert s Swan songs sung by Hans hotter are wonderful. If only they were available on Spotify or TH-cam
Quelle belle voix merci mon patou de me l'avoir fait écouter

Outstanding!
How to make the most of EMOTION in music; first never push it too much, second offer the audience the opportunity of adding their own emotion to the mix. Here the difference between emotion and emotionalism is perfectly displayed. Bless Hotter ... and incontrario motu for this rare joy.
A GREAT year for him (1951 & ICH HABE GENUG weren't bad either)! Some of
his most wonderful (and STEADY!) Lieder singing were recorded this year (1949).
What a gem AM BACH IM FRÜHLING is & why its not better known & performed
more really escapes me. Since 2004 I have included it on EVERY Lieder recital.
If ever there was a Nobel Sound.....
Reasonable and natural vocalization.
Very reasonable indeed.
Bravo....
I wish Hans Hotter had access to the same asthma medicine that we have now, which (for me) can take away all symtoms. He made his singing work very well, but one can hear how frustrating it must have been. It's not so much the exspiration of air (singing), but an asthmatic person has to take more and deeper breaths and will get much less bang for the buck when taking breaths. Like filling up your lungs with half air, half nothing. In longer passages it can lead to light-headedness, the next breath has to be even deeper, the one after that deeper yet etc.
What about his rendering of schemers Swansongs. Also terrific
