@ScorchinBeats To an extent yes, I'm talking overall "punchiness" though. It's definitely true that compression can turn shit into sugar sometimes. the ASR-10 has a mean compressor and of course I'm a big believer in "garbage in garbage out" as far as samples go.
this is true....but it also depends on the quality of the wav your working with....unless its directly from a plugin, then yea lol turn the others down....if its a kick or 808 not from a plugin, there are some tools you can use to make everything fit in perfectly on the same level of volume.
@dilliot2k I've heard lots of good things about Maschine, I'm just stuck on hardware...the only DAW i use is garageband and i even got pissed for that for taking out some of my low end LOL. Eventually i will try out another DAW...matter of fact I'm gonna go and try to see if i can get some time alone with Maschine.
@dilliot2k Low Freq Bass and kicks slap much heavier. An engineer once asked me "what are you using"? i told him the "ASR-10 and MPC-60"....he laughed and replied "Well I won't have to work on your drums much then thanks for saving me some time"
@ScorchinBeats No....I'm implying that most of us who use 12-bit machines for drums normally don't have to stack drums or do much extra because the drums hit harder in 12-bit machines.....it's a fact.
