2023…Fear not, this performance is still very much alive, celebrated and preserved…From someone who owns both the B-side and the knowledge of where the title came from.
🐝 I would love David Sylvian to release an expanded version of _Secrets of the Beehive_ with a second disc of original extras like the above stunning track, "Ride", "Forbidden Colours", "The Promise" and for good measure _Plight & Premonition._ _P&P_ was released only 5 months after _Secrets_ and I always felt it was an extension of the "found sound textures" that appear throughout the _Secrets_ album. Just my opinion... I want all his eggs in one basket! 🥚
One of my favorite compositions ever. I had the 12”when it came out and lost it. Thanks to the interwebs I have been able to listen to it whenever I want. I found a great vinyl rip a couple years ago. Now this☝🏼, This is extremely well done. Thank you for creating a perfect visual for a fantastic song.
David's just replied to someone on this saying it was a failure of a song that never evolved hence why it didn't make it to E+N and he doesn't think he'll digitally release it at all. Arse.
That's quite condescending towards Sakamoto who totally carries the piece through his piano playing. I would have loved to hear what it would have sounded like with a vocal melody.
Possibly the most beautiful piece of this era. Timeless. Thx for sharing.
Rip Sakamoto 😢
The melancholy of an Autumn afternoon is written in my heart with this melody!
This is such an emotive piece it makes me feel like I want to cry.
Thank you for posting. Listening today in honor of Sakamoto, rest in peace.
Still missing him. What an innovative genius! 😔🙏🏾❤️🕊️

È una musica stupenda.
This is such a beautiful piece. So much talent and feelings were involved when it was recorded. Thanks for posting.
One hell of a tight crew and individually masters of their own skills.
Incredible

Maybe best David instrumental song ever. 1987 and 1988 were sacred years for music.p.s.this song was maybe made in the 1987,is'n it?
I wish this had been included on Everything and Nothing.
Es de la sesión de Secrets of the beehive
Just the ticket!!!!
Originally conceived as a song it seems now.

😂
Does anyone have a chord chart for this?
Anyone know where 2:40 is?
If you're talking about the photo of Sylvian with Sakamoto, that was taken in Berlin, outside the Hansa studios, by the wall, in the summer of 1983.
@@renaud_c_h Thanks.
Was this put on any compilations?
nope
Life's just not fair.
N C-K Only bootleg comps.
It was the B-side of Let the Happiness in.
Who else thought that was Kim Whexler.
Good call. Now I cannot unsee it.
@@Oldmotherhell Good call? I think you mean... *Better* call... Saul...
