I'm in the USA, found an 06 that needs some good work but I asked to see it and there was already someone going to get it.
121k miles, dark blue with the tan interior, missing iDrive display and won't start. $1,000. Feel it was a good deal even now.

I have a 2004 525i and I have had it for 2 years currently has 120,000 miles on it. runs great no problems. I have the 6 speed manual transmission. a lot of people say this car is slow. that it looks faster than it actually is. if you take care of it and have a little modifications the thing is a rocket. great car for a great price I definitely recommend to anyone. it has a perfect balance of luxury and sport. BMW E60 are the best engines BMW has ever produced

if your buying this car used with 120k miles what should you look for?i fear electrical problems and tranmssion?
The e60 looks nicer than the new ones. I think the 523i/525i is about as close as you can get to perfection.
Even though I'm a big fan of the F10 I have to say that you have a point. This car looks more modern than many of its competitors being produced today. It's only the screen and gui that's no longer on point, however it's a lot better than audi's of the same era.

Not petrol ones,diesel n47 engines e60/f10 2007 to 2013-ish gave chain trouble,I am on my 4th BMW first 3 where petrol never had a single problem now have a diesel as petrol are hard to find now (in Ireland) have an f10 now had e60 and e39 and e36 all Msport (e36 was only 1.6 petrol and towed a caravan all over Europe for 4 months without a single problem)
Must say though e60 is my favorite
Also owned 2 Audi A6's both had constant problems so put me off them.

Bambino Mustafe im planning on getting one as a family car the 520d but alote of people are telling me that 520d for the size of this car makes its slugish and make it brake alote and isnt powerfull at all for what you expect from a bmw. Is it in anyway true ? I would appreciate if you help me with this since you drove the 520d for some time im loving the car but due to personal reasons i might get the 520d or not at all is it worth it?

Hey guys. I had BMW e39 525d (163HP) and I really loved this car. But it had common issues like rust :/ So I decided to sell it. I'm driving now a 2001 Mercedes CLK 320 (218HP) and its a rocket. Now I decided to buy myself bigger and more comfortable car like BMW e60. Can You say me something about your issues regarding e60 model? I want definitely to buy a benzine, no diesel. I'm focussing on 525i or 530i . Can someone write something about 525i? Like common issues, what to check before buy, something what is disturbing, etc.

The plastic cover on the engine the look of this beautiful engine, i took mine off. Better cooling too 😃
The facelift SE is a very nice looking car, a lot nicer than the pre facelift SE. I am currently trying to find a decent facelift petrol E60 myself as I no longer need a diesel. I bought a 2008 c class but really wish I'd gotten another BMW instead.

Depends where you live, if it is not too expensive to pay for tax and fuel it is a good car
I bought it just 2 weeks ago… the beauty of th car got me fall in love with it. So i bought E60 530d as my 2nd car… i switched from E90 bmw
I have an opportunity to trade my beloved Jeep Wrangler for an 06 530i with SP & smg which is usually only on the M5’s I’m so tempted as I miss my old e46

Apart from the external appearance it is a great car as every 5 series....I speak as an owner of 525i E 34 & 525i E39 which is my favorite 5 series.

SIMI - BMW 47 hallo. Ich könnte ratschläge gebrauchen wegen genau solch ein bmw. In einer woche habe ich auch ein bmw 530i das erste mal. Aber ich habe gehört das mann im winter sehr vorsichtiger sein muss damit rum zu fahren, besonders bei ein kleinen schwingungen? Ist da was dran?

how reliable are these long term?
They are reliable and robust. Older models from E60 model 2003-2004 models are even more robust and reliable as they have older version of engines.
In general i had no issues and people that i know who drive the same type of car are happy with it too.

Freddy Medina I have a titanium silver 2005 525i w/ the adaptive xenons, dynamic drive, prermium/sport package and the 6-speed manual transmission. It just hit 150,000mi on the odometer. She still drives like new and turns heads everywhere I drive it. I love it.

Is this car headlights(low beam) LED or xenon?
My 2008 BMW 528i headlights came with stock halogens which was not very bright. I went for aftermarket LED headlights and so far they are working out great 😊
