I enjoy this scent. One of my favorites and has been my go-to for this summer. I do agree that this vetiver isnt the most prominent as in other vetiver fragrances, but overall there is enough vetiver in here to enjoy.
I have this, Hermes and Tom Ford vetivers. I think mancera is a cleaner n sweeter version of the 3. In my opinion, an easy to wear that is universally appealing because not everyone enjoys vetivers. Longevity isn't great but over spray and I can get 8 hours on my skin.
I recently ordered 13ish Mancera samples, and this is my favorite. I was surprised. But, I don't necessarily want a masculine Vetiver, so I get what you're saying. Personally, I like the floral touches, so it's better than what I expected. I can see how it wouldn't be for someone who wants a more extreme Vetiver, but it's a very good, well-rounded scent.
Great review. I’m glad you brought up its syrupy sweetness. I haven’t seen anybody else discuss this and now I know it might not be worth checking out for me because I don’t like sweet scents.
Nice video! I wanted to smell vetiver and tried Terre d'Hermes, but all I could smell is orange, dryness and some old cologne notes. Is vetiver's smell more subtle or should I try other fragrances to get to know it better? Thank you 😊
Absolutely right! It’s funny people always associate Terre D’Hermes with vetiver but the orange, cedar, and “flint” accord play an even bigger role in my opinion. If you want to experience vetiver, I think the best are Guerlain Vetiver, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, and Encre Noire.
I’m a Mancera fanboy….but they do a very poor job with their branding. Take Black Gold. The packaging, marketing and general vibe of the fragrance suggest s a winter spice fragrance, but it’s really a lavender bomb with a lot of floral and spice in the background. I also find their openings to be very muted, whereas the dry downs last forever and a day. It’s a unique house that pumps out hits but it’s not an uber unique niche brand that takes big risks. In general you will smell really good for a very long time…that’s worth the price point too me.
@@UrbanDwellerNYC Like epitome of elegance, classy, gentlemanly, signature worthy. Like 90's old school DNA modernized, not outdate at all, just perfect.
You are the only one I've seen doing an honest review on this. My sample just came today. I really had to look for the vetiver, the fragrance is, as you said, dominated by some generic (feminime) perfumey flower note. Are our noses that much different from these other reviewers or are they literally lying through their teeth? I picked up Original Vetiver now, stunning scent, albiet a bit overpriced. But I'd rather overpay for something truly outstanding than get a good deal on some overhyped flower vetiver...
Yeah performance also is not that great and not like other manceras. Fairly good projection for 3 hours or so then a soft scent disappearing by about 6 hours for me - BUT I didn’t go heavy on the sprays as I was just testing so you could definitely extend that.
@@UrbanDwellerNYC thanks a lot, not bad 6h longevity for a freshie. maybe it works better in high heat? you have tested it inside or outside the house?
@@dirtyaim2887 both inside and out. Definitely had a refreshing vibe that works better outside and smells better in the air. Can’t say longevity is any better in high heat… to give you an idea, Terre D’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is a better performer imo
Thanks for the review! I’ve been eying Vetiver Sensuel, but I’ll make sure I keep both eyes open when sampling this fragrance. I wear Encre Noire Sport, Encre Noire A’l’Extreme, Guerlain Vetiver, and Homme L’Eau Boisee. Out of all of them, Homme L’Eau Boisee is definitely the most office-friendly one, due to its grassier, cleaner and limier nature, with the vetiver note being less prominent than Vetiver EDT. I have a feeling that a lot of these reviewers’ noses are much too biased toward sugary notes. For the record, Guerlain L’Homme Ideal EDP is about as sweet as I like to go. The only Mancera I tried so far has been Aoud Vanille, and I thought it was horrible. It smelled like the worst stomach churning cough medicine.
I hate that scent. The flower note is way too strong, too feminine and not refined enough. But i like the top notes. The under construction is just not for me.

hello, how is the performance for you?

Thank you for posting this helpful video. First time viewer and subscriber.
Thank you very much doing a review on this, it was a really good review! Naturally I will have to test it to see how it reacts with my skin.

Hello my friend. And about projection?
@@carlito7863 on my skin, I get about 2 ft of projection in the first hour
It does have vetiver but its a cleaner vetiver. Maybe not the type of vetiver you enjoy. Theres many different kind of vetivers
thank you brother, you gave all the info that i need about this perfume .
A legend of a scent in my opinion.

I ordered 29 and this was in my top 5 easily.
Not to mention, it was the first one I actually purchased a full 120ml bottle of.
Can I ask which other ones did you enjoy @@thegrimbandangos4871

What do you prefer between Soleil D'Italie or Vetiver? your response is very significant..Thank you 🙏
Late to the party but I was looking at both Deep Woods and Vetiver Sensuel! Not for me by the sound of it. Thanks for putting this together 🍻

If you want more vetiver why not layer it with Encre noire? I haven’t smelled this yet but that’s what I would do, maybe 2 to one man era to EN
Thanks for the honest review
Have you done a video on instant crush? I would see one on how it compares to vetiver sensuel
I have not because I don’t like baccarat rouge 540 style fragrances but I know the hype it gets so maybe it’ll be worthwhile to sample it!
Here's one suggestion, do a review of Amouage Beloved Man
You recommend that one? How would you describe it?

Thanks, you just saved me $$. Now I can stop obsessing on this one and just move on.
Encre noir is my favorite vetiver.
Is it similar to Tom Ford grey vetiver?
Not at all on my opinion!! Grey Vetiver is so much cleaner, soapier, classier. This is significantly sweeter and more feminine floral.
I find this scent pretty underwhelming. Many better freshies out there.
could you name a couple, please?
I bought a decant of this one and I liked it, but I'd be interested in trying other options before buying
