  • Negative space - or white space - is CRUCIAL in Graphic Design and yet, it is often misused by graphic designers, especially by beginners. Less is more. In this video, I will show why this fundamental principle is so essential using real-life examples, and I'll also teach you how to use it in a proper way so that you improve your design skills and can put them into practice right away, using Canva. Emptiness is actually super powerful: creating perfectly legible visuals makes them outstanding, catchy, and memorable! I hope this tutorial is helpful, let me know in the comments what you thought about it!

    I love your tutorials, very easy to "digest", and you seem to apply the principles of design into your tutorials to give them functionality. Love them.

    As a beginner in Design i am very interested in this series. Using "ready" designs in Canva and slightly changing them i often "feel" this looks good but can not tell why... now i begin to understand. This makes it easier for me creating my own designs having your advices in mind. Thank you very much.

    Thank you so much for creating this series. I know they don't get as many views as some of your other videos but, on an individual level, they have helped me a lot. The masses may not appreciate them, but I do!
    I have tried to watch a lot of other channels' videos on graphic design principles and found them dull and dry. It's hard to maintain focus on them because I get bored and my mind starts to wander. But your videos are engaging and funny, making it easy to keep me focused on the material. Also, I love that you give a lot of concrete examples and *show* rather than *tell* how it works. Principles aren't useful unless you can apply them in real life!
    I also really enjoyed the "Pimp My Design" series & learned so much from it. Maybe the name of that series could use an update if you do decide to continue it.
    Thanks again, you guys are the best!

      Hey dear 👋
      and thanks for the detailed feedback on the Design Principles series and Pimp my Design.
      You are right, the videos in the Design Principle series do not get as many views as our other videos (which is a concern for us when we look at it from a business's perspective), but we will continue this series because we realize it helps a lot of people like you 😊
      I'm glad you appreciate the way I run these episodes and show how to apply the principles to real-life examples.
      We are looking at new formats for the Pimp my Design concept (and are not excluding a change of name 😁).
      Thank you dear 🙏✨

      Happy to hear you are enjoying this format. It's hard to create content that pleases everyone. Some people prefer short ones!

    Thank you, Ronnie! In my opinion it was one of the most comprehensive videos about negative space in TH-cam. I use Canva and I am pleased with your attention to this platform during your tutorial. It was a long video compare to others but usage of the real designs made it an interesting watch. I'll use these tips in my designs, I'll watch the rest of series and I definitely appreciate your efforts on this video. Keep up the good work Ronnie. 👏

    I'm really enjoying your videos! I'm a visual artist. That's different than designing graphics, but I think a lot of design concepts may be helpful.
    How would you apply the idea of white space to, say, a landscape painting? Is that something that would help make a better painting?

    • @TeamRonDi
      @TeamRonDi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Esther,
      I'm glad you are enjoying the content.
      I'm not an artist like you but I'd imagine similar rules to graphic design would apply to a painting in terms of white space. I'm sorry, I don't really know the answer to that question 😅

    Can you do a video if you haven’t done one yet on blurring out things like peoples faces or how to blur them out in photos as well?

    • @TeamRonDi
      @TeamRonDi  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I have covered that in a previous video 🤔
      When you select your image in the Editor, find the "Edit image" button, then under "Tools" there's a "Blur" effect. Use that.
