i love gwen as a spellcaster but i always wish she used specialized spells more, instead of becoming a barrier maiden™. Don’t get me wrong she’s still sick but can’t they all move away from incoming fire instead of putting up a shield? (a stupid question but a question no less) Still love gwen, whaaat an inspiration
To be fair, Charmcaster is always just using magic. Whereas Gwen mostly just utilises mana as constructs, so the visual difference makes sense to me anyways. I will say, in Alien Force seasons 1-2 her magic sometimes looked atrocious. Thankfully they made it look better for season 3 and UA.
@@adorabledarkcat9244 yeah but i wish they made her powers more appealing than just a completely copycat of green/pink lantern :3 ngl i don’t like how they completely turned her into an alien instead of a sorcerer.. maybe its just me cause i grew up seeing ben 10 first when she was just using spells with charmcaster’s book. but yeah that era was good seeing her just use the spell book to cast spells and her magic is more appealing too that it gave her a unique identity from ben wielding the alien’s powers.🤧
I agree with both of y’all, they could have done better but it made sense for energy constructs. I feel like what she usually uses is a medium strength but supremely versatile power, boosted with her brains and martial arts prowess. So I’m kinda ok with the constructs looking a little basic, because it’s all that other stuff that gives it the good flavor.

It's so funny too because they've intentionally make Charmcaster's powers have that more elemental look to it. But thankfully in omniverse they gave Gwen that true magical look (with some additional bad ass spells) to her powers while keeping her regular powerset.
unfortunately they had to overshadow her, because the protagonist is Ben, but i really wanted them to develop the magic and the anodita part of it. she could spend time with her grandmother and could develop a relationship with her enemy witch (i forgot her name) where she could teach magic
It would've been better if Grandma verdona came in UAF while Gwen still uses spells and words to use her magic that then Verdona announces to her that she doesn't actually need to cast spells but just concentrate on the life force around her and her mana then will show Charmcaster that magic is not all about gwen but Mana is in that one ep where Gwen's mana got "lost" to then absorb CC's magic (most of her magic but enough to plan her comeback) and knowledge of her old spell book then will learn that her mana can boost her and will gain the same outfit as when she transforms in OV but can go further after somebody "kills" Kevin and will unleash her anodite form (that we'll see glimpses from when Gwen gets angry but never knew what that was) to gain a boost in power similar to when Ben goes ultimate but as draw back she can't use that form for long before losing her humanity
yeah it makes sense why her powers color took glass like magenta because she used mana to construct shapes unlike charmcaster who always used magic spells but at least they could give her energy blasts a good looking visual. By the way I like there's an episode which gives her powers not just plain pinkish magenta color but a combination of red and violet with a touchup of white light (21:30-22:16), I also like where her mana color changed according to her emotions(a reddish look) in 25:40 when she was angry with Michael 😁. And also, but to me they made her extra nerf in omniverse , yeah I know she used more magic spells but her strength and power level got reduced(especially her quick reflexes) and they also made magic in Ben 10 universe somewhat weak too in the omniverse compare to OG, AF, UA.
