So glad you feel this way about this album. At the time people were disappointed that it wasn't the same as Rhythm Of Love (an overrated album I think, apart from the singles and a couple album tracks.) Really interesting to see someone react to it in 2020 without the prejudice of the time. Let's Get To It is an outstanding record. She was really learning to write and experiment. I go back to this album all the time. Interesting fact: Kylie wrote No World Without You about Michael Hutchence, who had ended their two year relationship earlier that year.
"Let's Get To It" was produced by Stock and Waterman (Aitken having left the trio before this album). In Australia, "Word Is Out" (Summer Breeze 7 inch mix) was the version released as a single (and the version included on the album). Singles: Word Is Out (NB: in Australia, "Word Is Out", Summer Breeze 7 inch mix); - If You Were With Me Now (duet with Keith Washington). (NB: Kylie's first ever co - written single); - Give Me Just A Little More Time (NB: a cover version); - Finer Feelings (NB: Single version was remixed, with love, by Brothers In Rhythm. It is radically different from the album version). Kylie co-wrote the following..... Too Much Of A Good Thing - If You Were With Me Now - Right Here, Right Now - Live And Learn - No World Without You and I Guess I Like It Like That. NB: A reworked version of "I Guess I Like It Like That", entitled "Keep On Pumping It" (credited to "The Vision Masters and Tony King featuring Kylie Minogue), was issued as a club single after "If You Were With Me Now". This was among a group of tracks specifically created for the clubs and initially anonymously credited to trick DJ's into playing them. If you can't do Kylie singing about sex, medicate yourself before listening to "Kiss Me Once".
Watch out for lots of non-album singles and features as you go further into her discography. Make sure to watch for “In Denial” by Pet Shop Boys.and Kylie.
Let's Get To It is my favourite Kylie album followed by Impossibel Princess. Let's Get To it is her first album that really was full of so many sounds. Soul, Dance, New jack Swing etc ...
Underrated for sure. Next came the greatest hits as she left the label. 2 singles from it “What Kind Of Fool” and “Celebration” plus another new song “Where In The World.” 2 more non album singles coming up as well. “Where The Wild Roses Grow” with Nick Cave and “GBI(German Bold Italic)” with Towa Tei. Next studio album, she moves to Deconstruction label. And the beginning of Indie Kylie.
Fantastic review! This is a really interesting album by Kylie. It sits somewhere stylistically between her previous album Rhythm of Love and Kylie Minogue (1994). It's often paried with Rhythm of Love due to them being her stronger PWL records, but they're really quite different. It was not long after this that Kylie left the big Pop production company of PWL and moved to the Dance/Alternative label Deconstruction, with this album signalling her desire to experiment more and try different things as an artist.
Word is out is a great groovy track and catchy, give me just a little more time is a great covers song again catchy, too much of a good thing, good catchy song only gripe cant hear Kylie's vocals much, finer feelings brillant song with great vocals the mix released as the single is fantastic check it out.if you were with me now lovely song and Kylie's and keith's vocals blend so well together.Lets get to it nice enough song brillant vocals, reminds me of the band colour me bad.right here, right now brillant song favourite of mine from the album, live and learn great track another fav from the album,no world without you good song, great vocals,i guess i like it like that very housey type song very repetitive not my favourite.think im going listen to this album again because i didnt think it was her best hearing it again it was very good.thank you Jesse
Sadly she never performs Give me just a little more time live. By the way : I guess you skipped the reaction to Especially for you (Duet with Jason Donovan). An all time classic..
I had no knowledge of the song “Especially for You” until I looked at the track list for her Greatest Hits album from 1992 which I’ll be listening to next!
This is one of my favourite albums of hers 😁 if you want suggestions maybe you could do someone like roxette classic rock/pop from 80s til now. Or try shania twain she has some great stuff 🙂
I know you're listenig Kylie in time sequence but could you listen to Kylie Christmas Snow Queen Edition album before this Christmas, please?! I like your clips a lot! Greetings from Poland! :D
Like Your KM Review" Let's get To it " a Turning Point for her lot's of Kylie Input & not the other way around always having PwL on her case 🤣 check out the Spin off version of " i Guess I like it like that " you might of already heard it " The Vision Masters & Tony King Ft Angel K - Keep on Pumpin It " 1991 ( Deep 🎹 Piano Rave Acid Bleeping Techno ) Angel K was going to be a side Project of Kylie Club Tunes ....👍 Tony King was from PWL hit factory a master Mixer
such a good solid album and her finest early SAW work, its a shame as here in the UK it was her least successful of her early albums and only got to number 15. I think its poor performance was one of the reasons she decided to leave PWL and branch out. I have the special boxed edition with so many great mixes. thanks for your enthusiasm xx love from the UK
This is probably my least favorite Kylie album XD Not becuse it's bad, but just because I'm not much into early-90's/club music. There are some great songs, tho. My favorites are GMJALMT and Finer Feelings. Don't know if you are planning on reacting to compilations, but the Abbey Road Sessions' version of Finer Feelings is amazing and you should check out the whole album when you get there :) Also, check the non-album singles from the pre-KM94 era. What Kind of Fool is a personal favorite of mine and Celebration is a great cover of a classic ^_^

I can't wait til you react to Kylie's X, Aphrodite and Kiss Me Once.
I bought every album on record from 1987 to 2006. I grew up with Kyle and she is phenomenal pop artist.

For Christmas you need to react to her Christmas album...and Madonna’s one and only Xmas song...Santa Baby 😘
As a complete album this is my favourite from the PWL years. Single wise Rhythm of Love had the best singles though.
Her best album in my opinion.

If you get uncomfortable hearing Kylie talk about sex, wait until you hear Sexercise...😂
