Thank you for your tutorial, I just have one question that how do you know the line you've drawn is straight? Everything works from the video except I have to draw 3 times to get the picture absolute straight.

I am a beginner. How do I get my tools to stay stationary on my canvas like yours. Every time I close gimp I can't find my tools. Thanks!

I don't really understand, it could be many things. The first thing I would try is checking you are in the single window mode.
To do that
Click on WINDOWS in the menu bar (along the top)
then check there is an X in the box for SINGLE WINDOW MODE (at the bottom of the list)
click on it to put an X in the box
If the box it already checked this isn't the problem and just click in an empty area to close the menu.
